Just a little fire Ch 17
What makes a Master Merchant
"Well, that was...fast."
"Ray thinks this was a new record in speed too."
Kaga was carrying the red hair while wandering how effective this taunting was really. The little snake seemed to enjoy the situation.
"Everything went according to the plan."
Dime was smirking under the mask. She displayed absolute certainty that she got what she wanted.
"He just got really pissed off."
"Exactly. He will soon realize how foolish it was of him to not take my hand."
"Why is that a good thing? What's the plan?"
Kaga couldn't imagine how the heated discussion would turn into a fruitful business opportunity. But as he looked down to Dime, he got goosebumps all over his body.
"How would you describe me Kaga?
He was hesitant at first and was confused by the question.
"A nice Lady with big ambitions... you are kind and smart... a good leader..."
"Kaga I'm a businesswoman. I'm not just kind to anyone for no reason. Do you think I'm some sort of saint, or that our organization is for charity?"
"...no..."
"Are you ready to get blood on your hands?"
He abruptly stopped, Ray almost flew out of Dime's hand. He put down the Lady and looked at her, no, it would be better to say that he really observed her for the first time. And he slowly saw. The mask covered almost all of her face, but a stern coldness came from behind it. She was covered in black from head to toe. Even her hands were in gloves. Her usual friendly and kind appearance was nowhere to be found, like she took off another mask. He repeated his question.
"What is the plan?"
"I will tell you at home. Come now."
They walked to the mansion in silence. The one who opened the door was Nalaka with a thick grin on her face.
"My Lady you're home! I called everybody. We heard the news. Everything is going as you predicted. You are fucking terrifying, hahaha."
The others were gathered in the kitchen with food on the table. All of them seemed relaxed except for Kaga.
"Nalaka language!"
"Sorry granny..."
Nalaka said that but stuck out her tongue to Mathilda. Dime sat on the tabletop and silence filled the room.
Stolen from Royal Road, this story should be reported if encountered on Amazon.
"The fish took the bait. We will start the operation tomorrow. Kaga and I will go to the inns we researched, but you will have to wreak havoc."
Her neutral lips creeped up to a twisted smile and others followed suit. Kaga was stunned by the horrific scene.
"If you can don't kill innocent people, but I want everything to burn, everyone in panic, every criminal to get active, every monster free on the streets. Mathilda your duty will be the evacuation. Other than that, Nalaka will take the lead she has the detailed plan. Mira, send a massage to every partner so they can get ready. Tell them that if they face any problems just go to Thaleds until the storm passes and they will be compensated handsomely. So, get to work people!"
She clapped two and everyone shot up from their chair. Their twisted faces told Kaga that he was the only shocked one.

Nalaka, Ramir, Tealla, Ray, Mathilda and the ten dark elf stood on a rooftop in the middle of the night wearing black hoods. Even Ray had a little hooded raincoat which only made him look even more adorable.
"Sadly, the wolves couldn't come this time"
Ramir was sad that he couldn't let loose with Farkas. Nalaka started to give orders.
"Mathilda we will start from the forest so the near houses should be the first to take care of. I give you half an hour before we start so you can go now, the rest listen up."
The old shaman nodded and disappeared in the shadows. The dark elf took out a map and drew a circle on the region close to the forest in the west.
"This area is the target tonight. Mage, you have to make sure that not even a spark of fire leaves the circle. In this circle everything must burn that isn't alive. The patrol will be the strongest in this street but it's still a joke. Nobody can see your faces, if they do... well you know what to do. Also, if any house was built by that that flirt go easy on it. It will look better if his building resists the arson better, so his fame grows... as Dime says."
She rolled her eyes. She liked to cause trouble, but organizing every last bit of it was simply not her style. However, the Lady always knew how to turn every situation to her advantage.
"Mage, you take the snake you two play the defense. The rest is the offence. We will go in pairs. The kid will come with me, so he doesn't cause any trouble."
She pinched Ramir's face who protested silently. Nalaka then took out some random items.
"These should be left behind 'accidentally'. If anyone is interested each has a crest from families that serve in the Northern military. Now everyone go to your posts."
"Finaly some action."
Ramir was exited, so were the dark elves. Tealla took the white snake.
"Tealla and Ray will be the best team!"
Ray was beaming. Tealla also thought that they got the hardest part, but he didn't complain.
"Prettiest yes. Best? Not so sure."
"Tealla is a bully!"
The mage stroked the snakeâs head and went to make the necessary measures together.
"Your sister is much prettier than that fashion policer."
Ramir just smiled awkwardly at Nalaka's remark. They also had to depart.
Nalaka took out a gas lighter and threw it to the boy.
"Start with lighting the roof. It's the most flammable and if someone is still inside, they can escape for a while. Also, our goal is to make the flames more visible not to kill anybody so behave. Will you?"
"Sure, I know it too."
They started at the opposite side of the streets. The flames spread fast but no screaming could be heard. Mathilda worked fast. There was no patrol either.
"What a joke. And he thought he could refuse the Lady. That's why I hate veterans. They're arrogant farts who don't know shit about the world outside the military."
Nalaka grumbled the whole time. Ramir was unusually quiet. He was thinking about what else will the Lady do to them. He knew they won't get away with just a little fire.
"Boss what will we be doing tomorrow?"
"Kid I can't tell you every detail tonight, right? Where is the fun in that? All I can say is, I would regret my decision very soon. The plan is a week-long, but I guess he will bow his head by day four."
As the district was burning with tall flames, only half an hour was needed to be done with it. The screaming only started after the team left. By the time the first patrol arrived there was nothing to save.
