Chapter 126 [MIA]
My little bubble of newly-wed bliss popped the next day when it was time to go back to Alexâs house. I wished! could stay at that in the Ritz forever, because there was good food and good wine and an unlimited dose of Alex and his attention, which was rare.
âYou need to meet the Pakhan,â Alex tells me after lunch the next day when he pulled me onto his lap just moments before we had to leave.
âDo I need to?â I whined in return.
He gives me an obvious look. âYouâre my wife. Of course you need to meet him.â
âBut... heâs the boss! The Mafia boss.â
âHeâs also my Uncle, Mia,â Alex bargains. âHe wouldnât take what have done with ease if it was anyone else, but Iâm hoping he would be more forgiving because Iâm his favourite nephew.â
My eyes widened considerably. âSo you mean to say he can be punish you?â
Why was Alex treating this like it wasnât a big deal?
âDid you not listen to the part about favourite nephew?â Alex rolled his eyes.
âIâm sure itâs Ronan,â I teased.
âReally?â His eyes laughed even though his lips were in a flatline.
I put my hands around his neck. âMm.â
âAnd whoâs your favourite, wife?â
My heart leaps, and I draw back a smile. âYour brother is pretty fun..â I bite my lower lip, enjoying the way his gaze hardens playfully. âBut youâre my favourite. You see, Iâm kind of biased because of the ring I wear.â
âGood thing you changed your answer, otherwise I was going to flip you over and **k you till you scream Iâm your favourite.â
Even though desire floods in me at the mere mention of that, my body literally couldnât take more. âIâm so sore!â
He looks smug. âYouâre my wife. Iâm going to f**k you like that every night.â
I playfully hit his bicep. I had promised myself that all the anger I felt towards him was a fight for another day, but I kind of liked this. My heart felt warm and fuzzy every time he called me his wife as if this marriage really mattered to him.

As if I mattered to him.
Theld Ales closely every second till we reached his Uncleâs house.
Damien King lived in a mansion bigger than Alexâs with triple the security and more scary looking men than just could imagine. I clung to Alexâs bicep when we entered and when I looked at the tall man with black hair, black eyes, broad shoulders and a rugged yet refined appearance, I knew he had chosen a last name fitting of his aura.
The room we were guided to was huge and a conference room of sorts, and we were not the only ones in there. A tall blond, sophisticated girl sat beside a man I recognised- Xander.
âWeâre honoured you blessed us with your presence, Alex,â The Pakhanâs mouth twisted into a frown, sarcasm in his voice.
Xanderâs lips turn into a smirk. âHello doll,â He greets me before turning to my husband. âIsnât this the prostitute from the other night?â
âAnother word about my wife from your mouth and Hannah will be a widow before tonight.â Alexâs voice was calm, collected, smooth.
I froze. Hannah. The blond girl beside Xander was Hannah. The gorgeous girl sitting there looking like she wanted to murder Xander was Hannah. Alexâs ex-fiancée Hannah.
âYou got married,â Damien said. He didnât ask, he said it like a fact.
âI did.â
âYou insulted Hannahâs family by leaving her at the altar, and then proceeded to get married to a girl we know nothing about.â
Altar. He left Hannah at the altar? I donât think I could conceal my shock even if I wanted to. There was an altar. There was an altar.
âNow you do. Sheâs my wife,â Alex answered with the same level of calm.
âWhat is the meaning of this, Alex?â Damienâs eyes spit fire and I squirm when they study me. I donât touch Alex despite feeling the urge to, because he had asked me not to in front of Damien. âDo your parents know?â
Alex shakes his head.
My heart beats loud. Sofia had been so kind to me, and Gabriel, welcoming. Even Ronan and Aurora had, and now l had married Alex and they didnât even know. I wished they did.
Damienâs lips twitch. âLetâs talk. Everyone else, out.â
Xander gets up followed by Hannah who looks at me for the first time since I entered the room, and I felt the weird need to have dressed up. She was beautiful like that, all prim and
