Chapter 25: Demonic slayer

While out on a reconnaissance mission Charlie and Stan investigated a burning area. They walk over to it and see 2 revenants and bombard them with bullets. Their husks laid there on the ground.

Inside the burning building was a pedestal. Stan walks in and touches it. The mark of the slayer appears.

He felt like he was burning. He yelled out in pain. Charlie saw his skin go red. His blade and feet were flaming. His eyes glew yellow through his helmet's visor. Then he felt stuff poking through his skin. Horns grew out of his biceps and triceps then bled.

He still had consciousness but felt rage. More than he had ever felt. Charlie was scared seeing this. Her beloved BF being turned into a monster. Stan spoke to her and still sounded like the same old him. Charlie spoke back to him.

Charlie: A-Are you Alright?

D/Stan(Demonic Stan): I don't know. But I'm a monster. Look at me. I'm a FREAK.

He sat down on a rock as he started to return to normal. He removes his helmet and looks at his skin. It was tan like how it was originally. On the inside he felt though there was a monster that only just awoke.

He thought if he was so enraged he'd turn into that demonic version of himself. Just like how Charlie was when she was angered. Stan was an angel not a demon Or maybe he was just an angel in disguise.

Charlie comforted him because he was shaking a lot. They get sent back up to the base then Hayden asked about the mission.

Hayden: So how did it go?

Charlie: It went...sorta well.

Hayden: What happened?

Charlie: I'll just show you.

Stan was sitting down in his suit and removed his helmet. Charlie tells Hayden to throw a punch at her. He throws it but just before it collided there Stan was and caught his fist with veins bulging from his exposed skin as it turned red again and horns poke through his flesh. His eyes were yellow and his blade and feet were flames again.

Demonic Stan's teeth turned into fangs that were razor sharp. He punched Hayden in the chest and repeatedly beat him and tearing the metal plating. Charlie pried him off of Hayden.

Charlie: Stop. I told him to do it.

D/Stan: Why? Just to ANGER ME!

Charlie: Yes. To show him this new power of yours. The only thing that could anger you so much is something trying to hurt me.

D/Stan: Oh. Well I'm sorry. I let the anger get the best of me.

Charlie hugs him as he turns back into his normal self. He rubs his head in frustration and anger. He is like the embodiment of anger and hate itself.

Hayden: Well this could be used as an advantage. He gains more strength and speed from this "power" of his. That could lead to us being able to defeat the demons.

Stan walks back to his room with Charlie and he removes his armor and lays down. He was so confused by why and how he got this power. His stress was very visible. Charlie saw him rubbing his head still and murmuring stuff along with groans of pain. She lays down beside him and rubs his back.

He loosens up a bit and slowly starts to calm down. She continues until he finally falls asleep. Charlie hugged him as she laid there too and fell asleep.

Out in the hallway Vaggie was speaking to angel. It was about how Stan got demonic powers and abilities similar to those of actual demons not half ones like themselves.

Angel: So He now has the powers of a demon warlord? Sheesh. That man is brutal. Charlie is lucky to be banging a guy like him.

Vaggie: I honestly feel bad for him.

Angel: Why?

Vaggie: He's just so full of anger and stress. Now he's become the very thing he's trying to stop.

Angel: Well That is a good point but it just makes him even more scary. The more enraged he gets, the more stronger he gets and that makes him very intimidating.

Vaggie: Yeah. Let's just hope he doesn't have any tantrums or rampages and goes about beating stuff up. Cause we all know what will happen if that does.

Angel: Agreed. Wanna get a bite to eat?

Vaggie: Sure. I could go for some food right about now.

The two walk over to the cafeteria and see Hayden. Angel addresses him but Hayden ignored Angel and continues to look at the tablet. He was examining how Stan's body changed due to his anger.

Hayden: (To himself) So if he has all of that raw Argent energy flow, that means he bleeds it. Fascinating.

Vaggie: Whatcha talking about?

Hayden: Oh I was talking to myself about the research I've conducted on our friend. He is fueled by anger and it turns into Argent energy causing him to turn into that demonic version of himself.

Vaggie: So is he blinded by rage then or...?

Hayden: Not blinded but he only can become that way from being pissed off. It's like this berserk item we made long ago that uses Argent energy to give increased strength and speed. He can get the effects of that naturally and not by using the item.

Angel: Oh shit. I wonder how rough sex is with that kind of rage.

Vaggie: Most likely rough but not too rough you know? He wouldn't want to break her back now.

Hayden: Could you not talk about that now? I don't want to hear it.

He walks away still examining the demonic Stan. He thought that if he could extract blood from him it could be used as an injection for a boost for the soldiers aboard the base.
