Childhood apology
☆Faith☆ (A Series Of Poems)
Don't for a minute think I forgot about you
Your smile, your laugh, dreaming about forever
The picket fence which would guard our synchronized heart
Drinking wine on the terrace and linking our arms
You were the first person I ever wrote a poem for
You were the only one who made me feel seen
Melt into your touch and believe in certainties
And it was my paranoia at its worst when we both came crashing down
I don't think I was a good friend back then and I don't blame you for walking out
And now I've learned my lessons and stayed clear of your path
You never moved from home, and you never wanted to try again
And I always thought we'd be roommates
Listened to love songs and thought of you
Sisterhood friendships and the importance of staying true
And I look back at what we were and reflect on who I've been
Maybe you didn't owe me an apology
But maybe I did
