You hurt like anxiety
Like certain impending doom
Like my heart is being ripped out of me
Like I can't breathe in my own room
And fuck you for first meeting me
Pretending like I stood a chance
Like we could be something past simply living together
Like we could've been friends
And maybe in another life I was braver
Maybe in the next my tongue won't get lodged in my throat
Maybe in the next life things won't be so complicated
We would meet somewhere outside of this dorm
And maybe then I'd ask to go out for coffee
Speak my mind and say I like you
That I want you to be in my life
In another life you'd say it's like I stole those words from you
