Different kind of love

I'll always have a little bit of you in me

Sensation and perception of a few months well lived

No screaming and fighting apart from creating wars in my head

Couldn't always sleep peacefully, but not from waiting for a drunk brother to walk in

And waking up to watch you sleeping

Or you waking up to the smell of waffles galore

The few days I said 'good night' and the few days you said 'good morning'

And the quiet start was the worst

We all got used to living our own life

But at a certain point we could no longer handle it

I thank the universe for your desperation

It's been a nice change to get accustomed to

And sometimes I find it mad annoying

It's hard to get myself out of my rut

But sometimes you speak to me and I can't stop smiling

When you're gone my heart gets crushed

And I read somewhere love comes in phases

I laugh thinking back to our first touch

I think I've settled on this love not being romantic

What I have for you is a different kind of love
