Let's Talk
☆Faith☆ (A Series Of Poems)
Don't want to play cat and mouse
I'm tired of endless mind games
Don't need a soft out
I'm a big girl, my voice as loud as the Nordics
Not a bitch for pleasure
But a bitch for necessity
I can guard my own heart
I know when to swerve off the road for protection
Won't come to halt your studies
Just as you have chosen not to bother with mine
I respect your respectfulness
Just know I tend to lash out when I don't have peace of mind
But trust when I say
I'll give you the time of day
For so long I was over it
But I've matured since early May
I wonder if you have too
I guess we'll come to see
Can't say I've been wishing the best for you
Just like I can't guarantee you've been thinking the best of me
But I'll extend the invitation
Say let's meet up at the park for old times' sake
It will have been a year since I've last seen you
I wonder how long we'll stay
And if you say "no" know I will hold no disappointment
I place the ball in your court like old times
If you say "yes" know we'll have lots to discuss
I can't guarantee you won't hate me for life
Promise you'll be honest
And I mean BRUTAL
Say all the things you wish you could change about me and scream
Tell me where I went wrong all these years
Let's have an actual conversation instead of dancing around trying to protect the other's feelings
And in return I'll tell you my secrets
How I've felt about you all these years
Come to learn how my resentment built up
Point the gun at where you're already bleeding
Oh, what maturity will come to bring us
See if we still want to see each other grow
If not, let's just end this early
I hate limbo more than I hate distrust
We don't have to end amicably
But I would be curious at what you have to say
Make your voice heard for the first time
And I'll make sure you know the shit I went through while you'd go out to play
Write out your anger on paper
Excrete sadness onto the tissues we bring
In annoyance scribble onto tree bark
In happiness go home and move on in your own way
