I'll Never Lose Myself Again

Sometimes I wonder why I care to wash the pain away
Why I don't just let it fester and harbor
Feed the embers wood so the heat grows nice and strong
But I know I'd never want to hurt myself
I've already been bleeding for far too long
The soul within me knows moments of silence and solitude are only that- moments
Should protect my peace and honor when there is no one talking
My heart is a giver, but one day she'll believe she deserves to receive
Won't be led on by false prophets or fairies seeking entertainment
So, I don't chase after others or lose myself in their maze
I take moments and I reflect on them
The beauty in ever-changing change
I've learned so much and I only grow stronger
Pain will always come
But it will never last forever
