Dyllan
☆Faith☆ (A Series Of Poems)
Lost track of how many times I've claimed I'm over you
But I remember the smallest details of when we first met
How scared I was every time I met your eyes
How nervous I got when you prompted me to let you in
I think of you, and I think of beauty
Of novelty and infatuation for a girls first girl crush
I think of you, and I see sunlight
I've never cared so genuinely for someone
And three years later
Long gone are images of sharing fries and exchanging essays to proofread
Of walking together to price center for free food
Moments that felt like destiny
Now you're gone, and you live a life you could never have with me
Gab with your girls on weekdays
Travel with a boy who likes you on weekends
Grow your mind through lab and studies every day
Bittersweet to have loved someone as wonderful as you
To let you go in favor of worthier pursuits
And me, well if you have me, I'll stick to seeing you once every couple of months
I know now we weren't destined to be
But I still choose to love you
Dyllan,
You rejuvenated my heart
