There are some things that I'll never understand
It's like you always have my hand in yours despite the distance
Despite all we gave and all we have of each other
I thought our time would last longer
But time and time again, my heart just kept on breaking
the promises we were making
how I thought you felt and what I thought we'd become
Just to end up forgotten & wasted & full of apprehension
So how is it possible I still care for you?
Have hope that you do too
because you knew me the way I wanted to be shown
The way I wanted you to be my own
The way we could've been perhaps had you known...
A/N: I wrote this back in April in my diary, hence the title. It's always so crazy to look back at old excerpts and see how much I've grown (at least in the love department.) I did polish it up a little- which doesn't mean much since I'm just a teen who writes poems when she's feeling overwhelmed- but it still holds the same message.
