Chapter 77

Shop-aholic

☆Faith☆ (A Series Of Poems)

Browse the web

Take in everything you see

The clothes, the jewelry

Everything you hope to one day be

The models that tell you

you'll never be enough

Even if you buy the clothes

You still won't look like them

When my heart begins to beat

It's easier to say spending money will aid me

When push comes to shove, objects can fill in the spots that feel empty

Heart the clothes I like

Add them all to cart

Go to the next website

And repeat it all at once

Yes my eyes tire

The nausea creeps up

But I have to look at everything

One piece is not enough

Buy enough to qualify for free shipping

Buy enough to make the trip to the world wide web worth it

After all, you'll have to wait a month or more for the next splurge

The next available time to scream "fuck it"

Sure I'm being optimistic

Trying to buy sizes that once belonged to me

Even if they arrive and don't fit me

All that matters is that I spent my money

Have something to look forward to

Constantly refresh Shop

Is it coming?

Has it shipped?

It's getting delivered

I have to run out quick

Once it's here, it's a full-on haul

Pictures and pictures

part of a photo-shoot I organize all on my own

A girl finally relaxed

Finally at ease

But within the next few days she is once again empty

Her wallet has flies

Her clothes no longer shine

They've been washed once or twice

They no longer give off the same vibes

So she sits on her bed

She's a self-proclaimed shop-aholic

Earn money to waste it

To believe it'll finally fix the emptiness in her soul

To believe it'll make her shine

Like all those instagram models

And if one article fits too tight

She too will enter a fit

Maybe diet for a day or two

Until she finally decides to quit

In the back of the closet she hangs it up

With the other useless items she spent money on

She cries and cries

Until her tears are no more

Nothing left to shop

No more currency to splurge

What a shame

She wasted all this time on something so trivial

Didn't make her feel better once

Only told her she could possibly feel an ounce better
