☆Faith☆ (A Series Of Poems)
They say 16 is sweet
The age of the perfect-able American teen
The party of a lifetime
With kids and cake and all the beautiful possibilities of who you can be
The friends and the hugs
The presents and the tears
Old enough to get your license but still far away from casting your vote in the primaries
The zoom in my room
The expectations were low
Exceeded by old friends and birthday twins
a team with a heart of gold
Now flash forward a year
A day I believed would be sweet
Thought I'd be back at school
Not awaiting the first administration of a full length online AP test
Birthday wishes scarce
The team long gone
Someone I once loved who I left
The broadband of a broken heart
A day full of tears
A day filled with beers
A day of misery of silence and not having anyone to hold near
The frustration in her eyes
The newly turned purple of her hair
Not knowing what comes next
Not a dancing queen in her too tight dress
