Puzzle
☆Faith☆ (A Series Of Poems)
Every time I look at her
It's like I can't remember her name
I know the letters that make it up
But together they don't sound the same
So different to who I am now
So shy and timid
So quick to fall apart
To pick apart her pieces
She could never finish a puzzle
She would line up the wrong ends
Try to make a match but it ended up stalling her progress
So she'd throw the box to the ground
And then kick it out the window
And then she'd take a deep breathe
And pretend it was all a crecendo
A performance of a lifetime
She said she could replicate it with ease
Day after day
Night by night
Until she finally lost the whole game
Now even she didn't want to play it
She wanted it to just end
The board half done just like her hair
Finally she stashed it under her bed
Later some pieces were missing
Later some pieces had left
Some pieces had left her broken
Some pieces had made her feel like death
But when it all came together
And she finally figured it out
She realized it was a mirror
Pointing to herself
"There lie your doubts.
You finally figured it out.
Always in your head.
Make sure you don't wind up dead."
