Chapter 52

Skylar's POV

The next morning we all ate breakfast together before Lucy and Tate

headed out and back to the Mystic Pack. We had just finished eating

and Lucy and I were playing with Lilith as we watched the boys move all

of Lucy's things into their vehicle and once they were done they came

over to us and we stood to meet them. Once we were all together we

said goodbye to them and told them to keep an eye out for any signs

of Lucas our former beta since no one knows where he is or if he has

something planned for us so we are just taking precautions.

Jace, Jasper, Lilith and I all waved and watched Lucy and Tate drive away

before we all went inside. I took Lilith into the living room to play while

the boys headed up to Jace's office so that Jasper could help him get

caught up on his Alpha duties and plus Jace had something Important

to talk to Jasper about. I didn't attend seeing as I spent too much time

away from my little girl I wanted to spend as much time as I could with

her so I could get to know her better since she had grown up so much

since the day I gave birth to her.

Jace's POV

After seeing Lucy and her mate off Sky went to the living room to make

up for lost time Lilith while I asked Jasper to come to my office to talk

to him about something. Once we were settled in my office I took a

deep breath and let out a sigh before addressing my nervous gamma.

"Jasper you have done a lot for me and my family during this hard time.

You were even able to protect your fellow pack members and kept the

casualties as minimal as you could. Skylar and I owe you a great debt

for everything you have done which is why we both agree to this

change. Jasper I want to make you my new beta, you have proved

yourself tenfold and you deserve the rank.” I tell him. I watched as

many emotions passed through his eyes before what I had said to him

fully sunk in and he looked at me in shock.

“I am very honored Alpha and I would like nothing more then to be

your new beta." Jasper said back

We filled out the proper paperwork for it and spent the rest of the day

getting caught up on my alpha work. It was dinner time and we only

got through about half of the work I had piled on my desk but we

stopped for the night and went to eat and had family time in the living

room together before we all turned in for the night. Everything was

slowly starting to come together and was starting to look up even

though Skylar and I both knew that we only had limited time with Lilith

but we didn't care because we were going to be spending all of our

free time with her before we have to say good bye to her.

Skylar's POV

It has been six months since we have been home and have gotten

reunited with our dear little girl. The doctor still sees her once every 2

weeks to keep track of her aging and growth and everything that

gotten sped up by the injections she received so long ago. Jace and I

were sitting outside in the back yard on the little swing we had built as

we watched Jasper and Lilith run around the yard playing tag which

made me extremely happy. One day Lilith had asked us what she

should call Jasper and we both agreed for her to call him uncle Jasper

and we both know he loves it when she calls him that. As I was

watching them I couldn't help but have an uneasy feeling settling itself

in the pit of my stomach knowing that something bad was going to

happen and it was going to happen soon.

I knew Jace had sent out an email to all of our allies and told them to

be on the look out for Lucas Gray our former beta and told them why

he was a traitor. He also told them that if they came across him to

imprison him or kill him or to let us know that he had been spotted and

to pass the information on to their allies as well figuring that the more

people that knew would make it harder for him to hide and easier for

us to detect if he was making a move against us. Knowing that gave me

a little sense of relief but I still had that bad feeling and the sense that

someone was watching us which made me very on edge lately.

Another 2 months has passed with no known sightings of Lucas which

is good and bad just knowing that he is out there somewhere makes

me nervous. Yesterday Alpha Derek of the Mystic Pack had emailed Jace

and had asked him to come for a meeting to become official allies. I

told Jace to go to make it official since they knew everything already

and they had also helped keep out little girl safe so I wasn't worried

and I knew he would be safe and that everything would go well. Lilith,

Jasper and I all saw Jace off when he left to go to the Mystic Pack

knowing he would be gone for a few days. Jasper went to go and do

some of pack work in the office and Lilith wanted to go outside and

play so I let her but I told her to stay where I could see her and she

nodded her little head and said "Yes Mommy" before running outside to

play.

I was in the kitchen making her some lunch as I watched her from the

kitchen window I had just went to the fridge to get some fruit out to go

with her lunch. When I came back and looked out the window I couldn't

see her and I panicked calling for Jasper to come and help me look for

her. We both ran outside yelling her name but she didn't answer and

that's when we heard her screams. We both took off in the direction we

heard her scream come from and when we got there I froze looking at

my little girl in the hands of a vampire. I growled at him and all he did

was smile as he tightened his hold on Lilith.

"Let her go if you know what's good for you bloodsucker” I yelled at

him

"I wouldn't be threatening me Luna Skylar if you don't want me to hurt

your little pup here.” he taunted me and that's when I noticed the

marks on her neck he had bitten her putting more venom into her

system. I paled when I noticed that and the vamp smirked at me when

he say that I knew he had bitten my little girl.

"Just give me my daughter and I will let you go free as long as you

leave and never come back" I pleaded just wanting to hold my little girl

and keep her safe. Grinning evilly at me he bent down on the other side

of Lilith's neck and stared at me before he bit into her again and stayed

like that as my little girl screamed as he put even more venom into her

system. I lost it and saw red when I heard my little girl scream and cry

and I shifted into my wolf and when the vamp saw me he paled even

more before dropping Lilith and trying to get away.

Jasper take Lilith to Dr. Ramsay now and get her checked out and do

not leave her side while I deal with this vamp’ I mind linked him

"Yes Luna be safe Sky" he linked back

I was right on the vamps heels he thought he could out run me but he

forgot that I am a Hell Hound and I am the fastest thing on this planet. I

caught him and slashed at every part of him that I could. He sunk to the

ground panting from blood loss even though he healed rather quickly. I

looked at him and pinned him to the ground as I dug my claws into

him before I clamped my jaws around his throat and tore through until

his head came clean off.

Once I knew he was dead for sure after ripping off his head and

throwing it into the woods I left his corpse there to rot as I ran my way

to the pack hospital and to my little girl to make sure she was okay

even though the gut feeling I was having knew that she wasn't going to

be.
