Yernia fixed her gaze on the doppelgangerâs face.
âWhatâs your taste in men, then?â He asked with genuine interest.
âMy tasteâ¦is the opposite of you.â
âWhat do you mean âoppositeâ? What kind of face is that?â
âItâs the opposite of your face. You look mean and scary, and  thatâs not my type.â
His face hardened in an instant, and Yernia couldnât stop laughing.
âWhy are you shocked? Your appearance isnât just my type, but I think youâre handsome, objectively speaking.â Yernia said as she patted Cassianâs doppelganger on the shoulder. âI find my childhood friend handsome, too.â
âYou just said that he wasnât your cup of tea.â
âYes, my taste is a little moreâ-â
Feeling thirsty, Yernia was about to drink from her cup, but it had already run out of alcohol.
Yernia glanced at the empty cup, raised her hand, and smacked her lips. âOver here! Two more beers! No, three cups!â
Cassianâs doppelganger pressed for an answer.âA little more what? Tell me.â
Why was this guy curious about Yerniaâs taste?
Wasnât he aware that his frown made a wrong impression on her?
This man should be satisfied with what he possessed because his face could be considered the most handsome everywhere he went.
Tsk. Tsk.
He must have had what they call a âprince disease.â
âItâs not that you are ugly, alright? But I do have a preference for guys who looked as gentle as a puppy! Iâm always tempted to pat their head, especially if they have curly hair. Iâm also a sucker with guys who have cute eye smiles!â
ââ¦â
âOh! And, glasses are a must.â
When it came to guys, Yerniaâs taste was consistentâthen and now.
When Yernia recalled how the crushes she had in her favorite novels were portrayed and told Cassianâs doppelganger about them, his face had darkened so much that it scared her.
What was wrong with the type of guy she liked?
âWhat kind of brat is that? Please elaborate.â
âWhat?â
âThat guy isnât your type.â
âYou donât have to curse in front of me. I would have been a noblewoman if I had someone like that as a fiance. I feel so wrong, too.â
What upset Yernia the most was herself.
Of course, Cassian was handsome, and she had never seen anyone as good-looking as him.
But after all, her taste had leaned towards gentle guys than those who scared the living daylights out of her.
âAre you all right, My Lady?â The servant regarded Yernia anxiously as she handed the wine she ordered from the owner. â How many cups have you had?â
Before Yernia knew it, Â the servant took the seat next to Yernia and glanced at Cassian sitting on the other side.
âThis is different from wine, so I think Iâll be alright. Iâm fine, arenât I?â
âDrink enough and go home afterward.â
âNo. Iâm going to drink all night. Uh, my beerââ
Yernia raised her cup high happily.
Blowing off the flames of her giddiness as if she was a candle, Cassianâs doppelganger took the cup away and swallowed every drop.
âNo, sir. You must let me know if you want to drink. You see all the weirdos around here?â
Yernia flirted with the beer thief and caught a new beer mug for herself, but that was also stolen from her.
The cup was in the hands of Cassianâs doppelganger in the blink of an eye.
Before she knew it, the bar had already run out of beer.
âIâm sick of this. I think I can kill anyone now.â
The bar owner swallowed his saliva when he noticed a dangerous guy next to Yernia, who looked more than ready to commit murder.
âIs that guy with you, My Lady?â
âHe is a new friend of mine.â
âOh, you donât know how scary the world is! Hurry up and go in. Hurry up!â
âItâs all right. We already decided to be friends.â
âI said, get in there, will you?â The bar owner nagged at her with concern, and Yernia decided to accept it.
Itâs pretty late.
Yernia had planned to run away throughout the night, but now she had no money.
When the gravity of the situation sunk in, Yernia glanced at Cassianâs doppelganger.
âCan  you do me a favor?â
âWhat do you want?â
âCan you pay for the drinks I had?â
âWhat? Youââ
It was a big mistake to ask the man to pay for their drinks.
The doppelganger ran his pale hands through his dark hair out of frustration.
âAre you f*cking kidding me?â
âIâm sorry about this. I swear Iâll pay you back. My purse is gone, and I donât have any money.â
âHa! You donât even know what kind of guy I am, but now you are asking me to lend you money? You would act like this to someone else even if it werenât me, right?â
Frown lines marred Yerniaâs forehead as she watched steam come out of the doppelgangerâs ears.
âDonât hate me. Why do you find me so annoying? I did say that I would pay you back.â
âWhy? If I donât want to, are you going to ask another guy for money now?â
âDo you think I lost?â
When she asked him to lend her some money, it hurt her pride that a person she thought was kind suddenly changed instantly.
Did he have to treat her like a beggar because he was angry?
The bastard even stole her drink.
âI will call Cassian! Â It turned out that my childhood friend doesnât look and act like you at all. Really!â
When Yernia lost her temper, the doppelgangerâs countenance changed again.
It was strange how his outraged face relaxed. His down-turned mouth shifted into a small smile.
