Yernia tapped her chest to calm her pounding heart.
She had witnessed an affair between those two.
She expected it to some extent since both of them came all the way here together, but it was still shocking to see them in person.
She was glad that she was sober now.
She mistook their room as hers because she was too drunk.
This time, Yernia made sure it was her own cabin the moment she opened the door.
She didnât want her alcohol-filled brain to commit another mistake again.
âAh!â
She bumped into someone as soon as she opened the door.
Yernia thought she made another mistake, but fortunately, it was just her husband.
âDid you see a monster? You look pale.â
âNo. I want to guide you right now.â
Yernia distracted Cassian on purpose so that he wouldnât ask about what she had just had seen.
Cassian already disliked Jennan from the beginning and she was afraid he would despise him more once she told him about what she had witnessed earlier.
âDid you drink?â Her husband asked with a slight frown.
âI drank a lot because youâre taking too long.â
âDid you drink with someone else?â
âI drank it all by myself.â
Yernia and Cassian were eating snacks beforehand, but she accidentally spilled tea on his clothes, so he left her to change.
Tired of waiting for a while, she decided to drink alone.
She was experiencing a lot of trouble lately, which made her overindulge in alcohol.
When Cassian suddenly grabbed her hand, Yernia looked at him in wonder.
âYou said you would guide me. Iâll close my eyes.â He said.
She had no idea when their hand-holding started to develop into kissing.
Yernia shook her head.
If her kisses appear too eager, her true feelings might reveal themselves.
âLook at me. My lips are swollen. Just hold my hand, Cassian.â
The instant Yerniaâs lips caught his eye, Cassianâs ears burned.
Warmth flushed her cheeks as soon as she saw her husbandâs countenance.
She assumed Cassian would hold her hand, but he lowered his head, instead.
Yernia pushed his shoulder away from her.
âIâll be gentle with you, Yernia.â
âNo.â
âYou really canât?â
âYes.â
âWhy?â
âItâs weird. I canât imagine ourselves doing it.â
âJust think that you are guiding me. Thereâs nothing strange about it.â
Before she knew it, Cassian was already decreasing the distance between them, so their lips almost touched.
Yernia was almost speechless from surprise.
âDo you like to do it with me, too?â
Cassian went silent but he seemed angry for some reason.
Wasnât it good for him as well?
Was he forcing himself to like it?
Cassian kissed her instead of responding to her query.
Yernia tried to push him away until she gave in.
***
Jennan stared at Yerniaâ whom he thought she had seen him and Marquis De Bellet yesterdayâ-but he found no shift in her treatment towards him.
How naive he was to think she would be restless from witnessing their kiss last night.
That amorous scene didnât even seem to remain in her head.
âCan you help me, Yernia?â
When that bastardâ-who was glued to Yernia like a leechââwent to the bathroom, Jennan attempted to trick Yernia.
Was she trying hard not to make her jealousy too obvious or was she simply not paying attention?
He couldnât understand why Yernia had no reaction at all.
He might as well become more straightforward with the seduction.
âI seemed to have lost something, but I canât find it. Can you help me search for it?â
Yerniaâs gaze darted around and pointed her finger at herself.
âMe?â
âYes. I meant you, Yernia.â
âIâm a little busy.â
âOh, itâs alright if youâre busy. Iâm sad because itâs so precious, but what can I do?â
Yernia looked worried, and he thought his act was enough.
It might have been harder for him if she had just refused outright.
âItâs my motherâs keepsake.â
âAlright. Letâs go.â
Jennan laughed inwardly as he took Yernia to his room.
The naive, innocent woman strode inside without hesitation.
Jenan shut the door behind him.
âWhere did you put it?â
âI put it in the drawer, but itâs gone. Do you think it was stolen?â
If the item was stolen inthis ship, then, the criminal must be among them.
But who was it?
âWhat does it look like?â
âItâs a necklace. Well, I think itâs similar to the one you have on your neck.â
Jennan touched Yerniaâs necklace as he did so.
It didnât stop there.
When his fingers caressed her collarbone, Yernia stepped back.
âCan you help me with something else?â Jennan asked quietly.
âWhat is it?â
âIâm suffering from insomnia and I canât sleep even if I want to. Can you help me, Yernia?â
âYou want me to put you to sleep?â
âYes, my condition is turning worse. Please  take care of meâ
Yernia made the impression that she didnât realize what he wanted at all.
Was she in a bad mood?
She didnât look too happy with him at first glance.
If he continued with his plans, she might run away.
Jennan chuckled as he began to remove his shirt.
Few people would run away if he turned on his charms like this.
He was confident that he had his prey by the neck.
âWe can start now.â
Jennan approached her, wearing his most seductive smile.
