Yernia was uncomfortable with Vihani.
She didnât have a bad feeling about her but she did discover she had a crush on Cassian during their wedding.
It didnât matter if this girl liked Cassian or not because there wasnât anything between them.
âCan you lend me a handkerchief? I lost mine.â
Vihani talked to Cassian as if they were close.
The girl only introduced herself as Vihani and a friend of the Marquis De Bellet.
She must have been a high-ranking noblewoman.
âI donât carry it around.â
Cassian lied with a straight face.
âThen Iâll borrow your clothes.â
Vihani caressed Cassianâs jacket.
Yernia opened her mouth but she couldnât speak.
âWhat are you doing?â
Cassian looked at her coldly as if in a bad mood, but Vihani was confident.
She smiled with her eyes. âWhy? This is just between the two of us.â
By that time, Yernia became curious about their relationship.
âI always tell you I love you, Cassian. That Iâll be a good girl for  you.â
She dropped the bomb and the air turned cold.
Yerniaâs hand went tense and it crumpled her cards.
The game was in full swing.
Jennan, Marquis De Bellet, and even Vihani were all involved but this girl crossed the line.
She had no idea what Vihani had to do with Cassian but this was Yerniaâs limit.
The aristocratic society always treated legal wives well.
Yernia wasnât the only one there because there were other people around.
This girl must be looking down on her.
âI donât want to,â Cassian said.
Vihani laughed.
âArenât you being too mean to your ex? Youâre making me sad.â
Ex-lover?
Yernia glanced back at Vihani and Cassian one after another.
Come to think of it.
When rumors began to spread that Yernia and Cassian were dating at the academy, Cassian suddenly had a girlfriend to show off.
As a teenager, Yernia thought she was fortunate enough to not get involved with Cassian.
âAre you not going to play with the one you met at the academy? Youâre too much.â
As far as Yernia knew, they broke up after dating for about a week.
She was told that the woman had an affair.
What?
She cheated on him and now she liked him?
âI donât know this.â
Yernia pulled Cassianâs wheeled chair and he came towards her, eyes wide with surprise.
Whether he looked at her or not, Yernia held out her card.
âYou donât know, Yernia?â
She knew.
Yernia just wanted to stop their strange conversation out of sympathy for Cassian.
Thatâs all.
Thereâs no other reason⦠or not.
âYes, I donât know.â
âYou just have to pay for this.â
Yernia suppressed her desire to stare at Cassian.
He was telling her the wrong thing.
If she played this just like he suggested, sheâll lose.
Yernia was conflicted.
âOh, I told you the wrong thing. It was something else.â
In the end, Yernia went with what Cassian told her and she lost.
Only then did Cassian gave her the true answer.
Her stomach was boiling mad but she didnât show any signs of it, of course.
Marchioness De Bellet and Jennan, who were enjoying the game earlier, left because it bored them.
Vihani kept her seat, but the Marquis De Bellet dragged her away to discuss something.
It wasnât until the game table was empty and Yernia was left alone with Cassian when she asked. âDid you date?â
âYou told me that she only had a crush on you in the past.â Yernia blurted out.
She asked her who Vihani was and Cassian replied she was just a woman who liked him during their academy days.
He didnât say anything about dating her.
âWe werenât dating. Why would I waste such time?â
âReally? I remembered you had a girlfriend back at the academy.â
âWe broke up right away because we knew it was a waste of time. And sheâs not even Vihani. To be honest, I didnât even remember her name until I saw her again.â
Vihani introduced herself to him and he said he only knew her name then.
Cassian seemed to hate it when Vihani clung to him, claiming she was his ex.
Every time she was mentioned, his face would crumple with displeasure.
âWhy was she claiming she was girlfriend, then?ââ
âI donât know. Sheâs the strange one. Scold her for me.â
âHow can I scold her?â
âShe deserved it. Plus, youâre my wife.â
Desiring to play another game, she grabbed the cards Cassian had arranged, scoured it and piled them up one after the other.
Then, her index finger and thumb grabbed a card.
âI really donât like her, Yernia. Sheâs annoying. I donât want to hear anything about her anymore.â
Yernia shook her head.
If Vihani had intended to give up on Cassian after their marriage, she would not have said anything in front of her.
Why did she keep trying to convince Cassian she was a good lover?
It was obvious that Vihani would not care what Yernia thought or said about her.
Upon seeing the dangerous glint in her eyes, Cassian sighed and flicked the card away as if he had lost interest.
The card fluttered at the center of the table.
âJust in case, donât give me any trouble in the future. I donât want to hear any strange rumors about you and Vihani or else Iâll get myself involved.â
When Cassian was sick, Yernia wanted to let him meet the woman he liked.
