Chapter 161
One Night Surprise Novel
Chapter 161 She Is Probably His Ex-Girlfriend After Alexander returned from the restroom, he did not see Courtney in the lounge area. Moreover, the front desk had just changed shifts. When he asked them about her whereabouts, nobody had seen her.
âMaybe she went back on her own since itâs so late.â Vivian naturally hugged Alexanderâs arm, practically pressing her entire body against his arm. Her eyes were still slightly red as she said in a stifled voice, âAlex, Iâm tired. Can you send me back?â
The front desk was just behind them. Several receptionists watched the scene before them and revealed stunned expressions.
What is with this intimate posture? Whatâs going on? Isnât President Duncan in a relationship with Miss Hunter? Why is he so close with the president of SG Eastern Branch?
Alexander absentmindedly glanced at the entrance of the hotel. He had a vague feeling that something was wrong. Even if it was something urgent, Courtney isnât the type of person to leave without telling me anything. However, Vivian seemed to be very drunk. She leaned against his shoulder and closed her eyes without moving. Frowning, he had no choice but to call his driver to send her back home for now.
In the living room of a three-story villa at Westpark, Vivian grabbed Alexander by the arm and stopped him. She raised her head to look at him with a drunk expression, her words slurring as she said, âAlex, about what I mentioned before... you donât need to rush to answer me. I can wait.â
Alexander was about to leave, but he paused and lowered his head to look at the person on the sofa. Without hesitating, he pushed her arm away. âYouâre drunk, Mikayla.â
âIâm not drunk.â She was reluctant to let go, wrapping both arms around his waist. Her voice sounded like she was about to cry.
âAlex, Iâm scared... Wonât you stay with me?â
Despite allowing her to hug him, his gaze became cold and distant. âI called your brother. He will come and accompany you.â
Upon hearing those words, the arms hugging him instantly stiffened. Then, she retracted her arms after a moment. Sitting on the sofa with her head hanging low, although her curled bangs blocked out most of her expression, her disappointment was as clear as day. He frowned slightly at the sight.
A long while later, Vivian suddenly looked up and complained resentfully, âAlex, youâre terrible! I was only joking with you! Even if you donât want to accompany me, you donât need to tell my brother! If my brother comes, he will know that I was drinking. Heâs going to scold me again!â
The frown on Alexanderâs face relaxed at those words. After leaving Vivianâs house, he decided to drop by Courtneyâs apartment.
However, there were no signs that anybody had returned tonight. In the meantime, Courtneyâs phone remained turned off, and the butler at the Duncansâ ancestral home said that she had not gone there either.
âWhere to now, President Duncan?â Josh held the steering wheel as the car left the residential area Courtney lived at.
âHead toward Cameronâs house.â A low voice came from the back seat. From the rearview mirror, he could see that Alexander was scowling deeply. Mikaylaâs return had been a surprise to Alexander, and it had disrupted many of his plans.
Half an hour later.
âCourtney? Why did you come to my house in the middle of the night looking for Courtney? Are you nuts?â Cameron yawned as she sat on the sofa. âDid you quarrel with Courtney?â
âIs she really not here?â Alexander stood in the living room. Studying the messy apartment, his suspicious gaze finally landed on the door to the main bedroom.
âSheâs really not here. What time do you think it is? Can you let me sleep already? I still have to get up early tomorrow for work, unlike a certain young master. Heyâwhat are you doing?!â She jumped up from the sofa. Before she could stop him, he strode over to the bedroom door and pushed it open.
The yellow light spilled out from the bedroom. A familiar figure was sitting on the bed, looking very shocked. He abruptly wrapped the blankets around his body, trying to cover himself up. âWhat the f*ck, Alex?! Knock before you barge into somebody elseâs bedroomââ
Alexander stared at Galeâs shocked expression with a startled expression. âDid Courtney not come here?â
Gale covered his chest, looking like he didnât know whether to cry or to laugh. âWhat do you think?â
Not long later, the sound of a door closing came from outside as well as Cameronâs spiteful âI wonât see you out.â Those two sounds reverberated within the house. Then, Cameron crossed her arms and looked at Gale. âYour acting was a little exaggerated. By the way, you can leave now.â
âWhat?! Youâre throwing me aside after youâre done using me?!â
âShut up. Donât you see I have something going on today?â While saying that, she turned to the balcony and shouted, âCourtney, heâs gone. You can come in now.â
Gale muttered under his breath as he threw aside the blankets, picked up his shirt from the floor, and put it on. At the same time, the sound of a door opening came from the balcony. Courtney walked in with her head hanging low and said in a hoarse voice, âThanks.â
She originally planned to go home. However, when she recalled that Alexander had been living at her place recently, she decided to head directly to Cameronâs place. She did not expect to see Gale standing outside Cameronâs house. The two had yet to reconcile, so he had been locked outside.
âWhy are you thanking me?â Cameron frowned. Pulling Courtney over to the bed, they sat down. âSit down and talk. What happened? You look like youâve lost your soul.â
âItâs obvious. She had a fight with Alex.â Galeâs voice came from behind them. Cameron immediately rolled her eyes at him and said, âWill you die if you donât talk? If youâre going to continue being nonsensical, then get out of here.â
Upon hearing those words, Gale immediately shut his mouth and kept silent.
âDonât listen to the nonsense he spews.â She held Courtneyâs hands. âWhat on earth happened? You need to tell me clearly for me to help you.â
Courtney lowered her head and said in a gloomy voice, âI saw Alexander hugging Vivian.â
âVivian Shepherd?!â Cameronâs expression changed drastically, and she nearly jumped out of bed. âDidnât you mention her before? The female president of SG Eastern Branch, right?â
Courtney nodded. Her head was a mess, and she didnât know what she was saying. Her mind was filled with the image of those two people hugging each other.
âMotherf*cker! What a sc*mbag!â Cameron clenched her fists so hard that her knuckles made a sound. âIt hasnât been long since the incident involving Britney Price subsided. And now, Vivian Shepherd?! Didnât he say he doesnât fool around with women?
What lies! Besides, whatâs with these women throwing themselves at him, one after another?! Donât they know he has a girlfriend?! How can they be so shameless?!â
âI think she is his ex-girlfriend.â Courtney looked depressed as she interrupted Cameronâs rant. If I hadnât listened to Vivian talking about her past with Alexander, I wouldnât have gotten so shocked. I just ran away without making any preparations at all.
She had always thought of Alexander as a decisive and strong-willed person. Moreover, she believed he held the same attitude toward women. She didnât even see him being nice to Britney, who stayed beside him for several years as his fake fiancée.
However, she saw him looking at Vivian with a completely doting look from where she stood at the restroom door. There was that necklace too. If I didnât hear wrongly, the necklace I took from him back then was originally a token of their love.
Cameron was stunned for quite a long while before she came back to her senses. âHe has an ex-girlfriend?â
Courtney said nothing.
âGale, didnât you tell me that Alexander had never been in a relationship before?â
Gale looked a little bleak and depressed. âDidnât you say I shouldnât talk? Can I remain silent on this topic too?â
âWhat do you think?â Cameron clenched her fist and threatened him, âIt looks like you know exactly what is going on between Vivian and Alexander.â
âHow can I not know? The three of us grew up together...â
