Chapter 10: 𝟏.𝟓

Arielle had spent the next 2 days searching for Elijah.

She was 𝘱𝘪𝘴𝘴𝘦𝘥.

Elijah had the nerve to say goodbye that way. Even after she came back into town, partially because of him, but still, he should've said goodbye the right way. Not send a letter, which wasn't even that good, as a goodbye.

She was currently in the woods when she saw a figure in the distance. She looked around and decided to walk up to it.

As she got closer she saw it was Klaus, laying there, 𝘯𝘢𝘬𝘦𝘥, she quickly turned around and muttered a spell to make a blanket appear in her arms. She then turned around and placed it on top of him.

She went to his side and nudged him with her foot, "Wake up." she urged. When he didn't move she nudged him again, " Wake up, Klaus." she urged again.

Since he wasn't moving she looked around and picked up a near by branch and stabbed him in the arm.

He woke up at the sudden pain. He hissed in pain grabbing his arm and then looking up at his attacker, "What the bloody hell?" he hissed at the were-witch infront of him.

She smiled proudly and threw the branch to the side, "You wouldn't wake up." she stated innocently.

"So you stabbed me with a bloody branch!?" he questioned annoyed.

The girl simply shrugged, "Eh, atleast it's not white oak." she joked earning a glare from the man, "Relax, it's a joke."

The man rolled his eyes, "About the only weapon that can kill me." he reminded her.

"Can you calm down, I wouldn't kill you." she said leaning against a tree.

This surprised the newly turned hybrid, "You wouldn't?" he questioned.

The girl shook her head, "You're Lijah's brother, and as much as he says he hates you, he doesn't, so I wouldn't do that to him."

The man nodded and finally noticed the blanket on top of the lower part of his body. He looked at the girl, "Did you give me this?" he asked pointing to the blanket.

Arielle nodded, "Can't exactly have a conversation with you if you're naked." she said.

The smirk forming on his face let her know whatever he was going to say wasn't gonna be good, "Actually you can, but I don't think the woods is the best place for-"

"Okay, shut up." she said putting up her hand to stop him from going on.

"I'm not lying, I'm merely stating facts." he said leaning on his arms against the ground, "You don't need clothes to have a conversation."

"To have a civilized conversation, you do." she retorted.

"No you don't." he denied, "Infact," he began, with a mischievous look in his eyes, that Arielle found weirdly attractive, "I've had plently of civilized conversations without clo-"

Arielle muttered a spell making him clamp his mouth shut, "God, do you ever shut up!?" she exclaimed annoyed.

The look he was sending her said, '𝘜𝘯𝘥𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴, 𝘯𝘰𝘸', but Arielle was slightly enjoying the quiet, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 the slight power she held over him at this moment, so she decided to mess with him.

"So...this curse, you killed my childhood friend, but I guess I can't say I feel completely in grief seeing as I was kinda in the outs with her, but still, you killed her, and you had to be petty so you killed her aunt, now the wolf I actually don't care about." she ranted.

"For the wolf I actually wanna thank you." she revealed making him look at her in shock, "Shocking right!? I wanna thank you for something, and it's for killing someone."

The girl shook her head at her own words, "Is that messed up? Or not? I mean she tortured my sister so it's understandable why I wanted her dead, or maybe not, my therapist said I was kinda psychotic, but I think I'm pretty normal, don't you?"

Klaus looked at her confused, it's true he could've killed her already, but he didn't want too. That scared him a little bit, why didn't he want to kill her? Why 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥𝘯'𝘵 he kill her?

He snapped out of his own thoughts and pointed at his mouth signalling to her he couldn't talk making her scoff, "It's a yes or no question, shake or nod your head, it's seriously not that difficult."

Klaus rolled his eyes and pointed to his mouth again, "Fine, if I do this, you have to stop talking so damn much." she said.

He nodded and she released him from the spell, "If you think I talk alot, then you clearly haven't looked in the mirror." he muttered.

"Whatever." she stated. She muttered a spell making clothes appear in her hands. She threw them to him and turned around.

Klaus eyed the clothes and started to dress himself, "How did you find me here?" he asked as he put on the pants.

"I was looking for Elijah, and I ran into you here." she told him.

"You always seem to be looking for my brother, shouldn't you take the hint?"

"God, do you understand the meaning of 𝘧𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘴? Wait, do even have any?" she joked.

Even though she wasn't looking at him she could feel the glare he was sending her, "I do have friends, and you seem a bit obsessed with my brother."

Arielle scoffed and turned to face him, "It's called looking for your friend so you can beat his ass."

The hybrid raised an eyebrow at her words, "So my brother made you mad?" he asked already fully dressed.

"Mhm." she took out the note and held it up to him, "He gave me a shitty goodbye, even after I came back here, and we haven't even had a chance to talk. And this shitty half-ass note is all he sends me? You don't do that to your best friend." she rambled.

Klaus chuckled at her rambling and started walking away signalling for her to follow. The girl pushed herself off the tree and started to follow him.

The two were walking in silence when they heard a twig snap. Both Arielle and Klaus were surprised when the hybrid stood infront of the were-witch, almost...protectively?

Klaus stood down when Elijah's figure came into the clearing the two wolves were standing in, "If it isn't the person I was just looking for." Arielle said walking infront of Klaus.

"Arielle." he said surprised, "What are you doing here?" he asked pulling her slightly away from his brother.

Arielle yanked her hand away and pulled out the letter Elijah had sent her, "This." she said throwing it to him, "You don't send a shitty note to your bestfriend as a goodbye, Elijah."

The vampire winced at the way she said his name. He knew she was mad just because she called him 'Elijah' and not 'Lijah' or 'Eli'. He knew sending the letter wasn't the right way to say goodbye, but he still did it.

"I didn't know how to say goodbye." he mumbled softly.

Arielle scoffed, "You don't." she yelled, "Because you didn't have to say goodbye, maybe a, '𝘚𝘦𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘳' or '𝘐'𝘭𝘭 𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘤𝘩 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘳', would've been fine. But that damn letter sucked, especially when we haven't talked, seriously, in like a month, seriously Elijah, you don't do that shit." she screeched on the verge of tears.

Arielle has severe abandonment issues, and when she got the letter from Elijah, it felt like he was abandoning her. Deep down she knew he wasn't, but her being her, she denied it, she wouldn't admit that, because then she would feel guilty fot accusing him of something he promised to never do.

Maybe she did need to resolve her issues, and she was working on them, but Elijah's letter certainly didn't help her progress. And she knew she was definitely taking out some other anger at him.

"I apologize, but maybe we can talk about this." he offered softly.

The girl scoffed, "Yea, we will." she said annoyed, "In our weekly sparring sessions." she added with an angry look making Elijah slightly nervous.

"As you wish." he said nervously.

She gave him a sarcastic smile and then turned to Klaus, who was watching the scene unfold quietly from a nearby tree, "Have a happy, hybrid life, Klaus." she gave him the same smile she had given Elijah, ignoring the glare he gave her, and walked away from the brothers.
