Arielle burst out laughing, making everyone confused, "That's a good one." she said composing herself, "But my parents are-well, I actually don't know, because they abandoned me."

The pair looked down ashamed. Liz cleared her throat and said, "Me and Caroline will give you three some time." she said before walking out with Caroline behind her, who only gave Arielle a supportive thumbs up.

The were-witch sighed before sitting across from her so called '𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴'. Silence filled the room quickly. And it wasn't a comfortable one either.

"We didn't abandon you." the women spoke, breaking the silence, and looking at her, "We were murdered."

Arielle seriously didn't believe any of this, so she stood up and said, "Yeah, okay! Look, I got woken up for this and I'm 𝘸𝘢𝘺 too tired for this weird-ass conversation. And you I don't know who you two psychos think you are, but if you were really "𝘮𝘶𝘳𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘥" as you say, then how are you here?"

She was met with silence from the pair so she spoke again, "I'm going back to sleep. You two can show yourselves out." she turned to walk away but stopped when the man said.

"You have a birthmark with the shape of a star on your lower left hip." Arielle stopped and looked down at her hip and slightly touched her hip before turning around with tears in her eyes.

"Congratulations, you can break into medical files." she said, not wanting to believe them.

The man stood up and walked closer to her, "We both know, that isn't how we know that." he was right. But Arielle wouldn't admit that.

Liam got closer to her and slowly raised his hand, and when she didn't flinch away, he put it to her cheek, "Let us explain, please." he pleaded, "And if you still don't believe us, then we'll leave."

Arielle pushed back the tears, "Fine." she muttered softly before returning to her seat. Liam also went back to his seat and grabbed his wife's hand before the women started explaining.

"When you were two months old, we were murdered. Our pack knew how important you were, so they sent you and your cousin away-"

"Cousin? As in Hayley?" she asked and they both nodded.

"Yes, her father was my brother. We were both murdered on the same day." Liam informed.

Arielle nodded slowly taking in all the information as  Corrine continued, "They people our pack sent you with didn't get too far. A curse was placed on them, before they could even reach the border of Louisiana. Our pack is still there and still under the curse."

"Louisiana? Ew." she muttered to herself, although the pair heard. Corrine laughed while Liam just sighed.

"New Orleans isn't so bad." Liam defended.

Arielle scoffed, "I guess not, but it's still Louisiana."

"That's what I used to say." Corrine said.

Arielle looked at them for a moment, she almost wanted to believe it. But she spent her whole life resenting her parents for abandoning her. And now here they were.

"What else can you tell me?" she asked and noticed how their faces slightly lit up.

"You were born May 9th, 1991, in New Orleans, Louisiana. Your real name is Maeve Labonair. Other than that birthmark on your hip, you have two more, one on your left wrist, and another one behind your ear." Corrine said and Arielle could tell she was holding back tears, and so was she.

The young girl stood up and hugged both of them, which they gladly returned. Arielle felt the tears spill from her eyes as she hugged them. They were her 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘢𝘭 parents, and they didn't abandon her.

"You have no idea how much we've missed you, Mae." her dad whispered.

Arielle spent the day with her parents. They had explained how they had no idea how they were even there in the first place, but after she had received a text from Caroline explaining the situation with the ghosts, and all the other things Arielle couldn't keep up with, she sort of understood.

She was currently sitting on her porch listening as her mom explained how her and her dad met, "And speaking of boyfriends, what's with you and that hybrid guy?"

Arielle laughed, "Klaus? We have nothing going on, like, at all." she denied, but when her parents sent each other a suggestive look she said, "No, seriously, he's an asshole."

"Mmh, your mother said the same thing about me." her dad said before Arielle's phone started to ring. She excused herself seeing it was Caroline.

"Hey, what's up?"

"𝘏𝘦𝘺, 𝘴𝘰 𝘸𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘯𝘦𝘤𝘬𝘭𝘢𝘤𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘸𝘦'𝘳𝘦 𝘨𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘤𝘭𝘰𝘴𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘭𝘥 𝘢𝘭𝘭 𝘨𝘩𝘰𝘴𝘵𝘴 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘰𝘯 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘴𝘪𝘥𝘦." the girl informed making Arielle's heart drop, "𝘑𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘐'𝘥 𝘭𝘦𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘴𝘰 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘴𝘰 𝘨𝘰𝘰𝘥𝘣𝘺𝘦."

Arielle hung up and slowly lowered her phone, biting her lip in an attempt to stop the tears from falling. She felt someone touch her shoulder so she quickly turned around and saw it was her dad, and from his expression, she knew he heard the conversation.

"Dad..."was all she could mutter before she broke out into tears and he pulled her in for a hug.

"It's okay." he whispered as his daughter sobbed into his chest and he held her.

"Everything's going to be fine." her mom assured joining the hug.

Arielle kept sobbing into their arms until she didn't feel amything. She looked around and saw no one around. She broke down and sobbed with her head buried into her hands.

She kept sobbing for what felt like hours. She ignored the calls coming from her phone until she had enough and answered without looking at the caller ID.

"What!?!" she yelled into the phone, standing up.

"𝘈𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘦? 𝘐𝘴 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘰𝘬𝘢𝘺?" Klaus asked.

The girl almost broke down at the questions, she looked up and bit her lip to stop her tears from spilling, "Yeah, everything's fine." she answered coldly, "Maybe you should take a hint, when someone doesn't answer on the first ring."

"𝘕𝘰𝘵 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦𝘭𝘺. 𝘐'𝘮 𝘲𝘶𝘪𝘵𝘦 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘵."

Arielle scoffed, "Is that all? Or do you need something?" she asked with a shaky voice.

"𝘓𝘪𝘵𝘵𝘭𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘤𝘩, 𝘪𝘴 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘦? 𝘉𝘦𝘤𝘢𝘶𝘴𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘥𝘰𝘯'𝘵 𝘴𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶'𝘳𝘦 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘦 𝘢𝘵 𝘢𝘭𝘭."

"Yeah, everything is peachy! Everything is fine! I'm fine. Everything's fine." she assured with s shaky voice, on the verge of tears.

"𝘈𝘳𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘦?"

Arielle broke down. She started sobbing once again, "No, I'm not sure. No, I'm not fine. I'm the complete opposite of fine. I'm horrible. Terrible, I'm terrible. I am completely falling apart and I-I don't-I can't-" she tried finding the right words but she couldn't as she kept sobbing.

"𝘏𝘦𝘺, 𝘩𝘦𝘺, 𝘧𝘰𝘤𝘶𝘴 𝘰𝘯 𝘮𝘺 𝘷𝘰𝘪𝘤𝘦, 𝘈𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘦. 𝘋𝘰𝘯'𝘵 𝘧𝘰𝘤𝘶𝘴 𝘰𝘯 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘣𝘭𝘦𝘮𝘴, 𝘧𝘰𝘤𝘶𝘴 𝘰𝘯 𝘮𝘺 𝘷𝘰𝘪𝘤𝘦. 𝘑𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘮𝘺 𝘷𝘰𝘪𝘤𝘦." he ushered trying to calm her down over the phone.

Arielle kept focusing on his voice as he kept repeating reassuring words trying to calm her down. When she finally did settle down she said, "Thank you!"

"𝘠𝘰𝘶'𝘳𝘦 𝘸𝘦𝘭𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦." he said, "𝘕𝘰𝘸, 𝘥𝘰 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘦𝘭𝘭 𝘮𝘦 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘱𝘦𝘯𝘦𝘥?"

Arielle sighed and sat down on her porch swing before speaking, "I met my parents." she revealed, "They never abandoned me, like I used to think, they were murdered and-"

"𝘐𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘸𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘮𝘶𝘳𝘥𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘥, 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘩𝘰𝘸 𝘥𝘪𝘥 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘮𝘦𝘦𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮?" he asked confused.

"Um, something with ghosts having a foothold on Mystic Falls or something. I don't really know, it's really confusing."

"𝘐𝘵 𝘴𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘴 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘧𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨." he said with a laugh making her laugh as well.

"But, anyways. I spent the whole day with them, and they told me my real name, about my real family and my pack, where I was born, and all that stuff."

"𝘈𝘯𝘥 𝘸𝘩𝘰 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘪𝘴 𝘈𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘦 𝘍𝘰𝘳𝘣𝘦𝘴?"

"Apparently my real name is Maeve Labonair." she told him.

"𝘛𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘯𝘢𝘮𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘴 𝘐𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘩 𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘪𝘯." he informed, "𝘈𝘯𝘥 𝘪𝘵 𝘮𝘦𝘢𝘯𝘴, '𝘴𝘩𝘦 𝘸𝘩𝘰 𝘳𝘶𝘭𝘦𝘴'."

"So, I was meant to be a leader?" she joked.

"𝘗𝘦𝘳𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘴, 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘓𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘪𝘳𝘴 𝘸𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘢𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘢 𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘸𝘦𝘭𝘭-𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸𝘯 𝘱𝘢𝘤𝘬. 𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘮𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵'𝘷𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘥 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘢𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘯𝘦𝘹𝘵 𝘈𝘭𝘱𝘩𝘢."

"Actually, they had my cousin as the next alpha, and I was supposed to be her second-in-command." she corrected.

"𝘞𝘦𝘭𝘭, 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘮𝘪𝘴𝘴𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘢 𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘸𝘪𝘴𝘦 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘦𝘳."

Even though Klaus couldn't see, Arielle had her cheeks red and a smile plastered on her face. She couldn't remember the last time she had forgotten about her problems and felt calm.

"Thank you."

"𝘍𝘰𝘳?" he questioned.

"Calming me down and letting me forget about my problems."

"𝘖𝘧 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘴𝘦, 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦." he said making Arielle smile bigger before he added, "𝘈𝘯𝘥 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘮𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘣𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘷𝘦 𝘮𝘦, 𝘈𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘦, 𝘣𝘶𝘵, 𝘐 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘨𝘳𝘰𝘸𝘯 𝘵𝘰 𝘤𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶, 𝘦𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘴𝘶𝘮𝘮𝘦𝘳."

Arielle's mouth went dry, she didn't know how to respond to that, what could she say? Thank you? I care about you too? Or just nothing and pretend you didn't hear? Actually, those are all bad options.

"Really?" she answered before mentally slapping herself.

"𝘔𝘮𝘩, 𝘣𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘷𝘦 𝘪𝘵 𝘰𝘳 𝘯𝘰𝘵, 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘢𝘳𝘦𝘯'𝘵 𝘢𝘴 𝘣𝘢𝘥 𝘢𝘴 𝘱𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘦 𝘴𝘢𝘺."

"I could say the same about you, Mr. Big Bad Hybrid."

"𝘙𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺? 𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘦𝘴 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘴𝘢𝘺 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵?"

"The fact that I've snapped your neck multiple times and I'm still breathing says a lot. And Elijah's told me stories, you've killed people for far less."

"𝘛𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘐 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦." he muttered as silence overcame them.

Arielle didn't find the silence uncomfortable or awkward. She felt comfortable and normal. Like it was supposed to be that way.

They stayed that way, in silence. Arielle looking up at the night sky. And Klaus, well, Arielle didn't know what he was doing. But they stayed that way until Klaus said goodbye.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The next night Arielle and Caroline were invited to the Salvatore house by Rebekah. The two had no idea why, but they didn't question it either. Since neither of them minded Rebekah's company.
As they made their way to the door they were stopped by Elena, "What are you two doing here?" she asked just before Arielle opened the door.
The sisters turned around to face her, "Rebekah invited us." Caroline answered, just before Arielle opened the door and walked in.
The three walked in and Rebekah turned to them with a smile, "Hey, you made it! " she greeted with a smile as Elena closed the door.
Arielle and Caroline moved forward a gave Rebekah hug, and Elena looked away as they hugged. She cleared her throat making them pull away and look at her.
"You called me over to talk?"
Rebekah smiled before calling out, "All right, girls. Have at it."
8 girls come out right as she finished her sentence, wearing different homecoming dresses, "Okay, now twirl, please." the girls did as told and twirled.
"You've compelled your own private runway show?" the human asked, slightly uncomfortable, as Arielle and Caroline sat on the couch.
"I need a homecoming dress." she said simply, "So what do you think? Pick one." she ordered.
Elena scoffed, "I'm not here to help you shop. I'm here to talk about why you don't want me to wake up Mikael."
"Wait, what!?" Caroline and Arielle both yelled as Rebekah sped to a girl and bared her fangs over her neck.
"I think you should pick one, Elena." Caroline advised.
Even though Caroline didn't know much about Mikael. Rebekah had told her that he was an abusive prick, who spent his whole life hunting his kids. So that was enough reason for Caroline to absolutely hate him.
"The red one." she picked worridly.
Rebekah retracts her fangs and moved to stand beside the girls, "There, that wasn't so hard, was it?" she then compelled the girls to leave.
Rebekah glared back at Elena and started walking towards her as she grabbed a glass of champange, "You do not threaten me. You will learn what I allow you to learn. Do I make myself clear?"
Elena gulped and nodded fearfully.
