Chapter 62
Lunar Whispers
It was half seven in the morning when Scott noticed the letter on the floor. He picked it up with a frown when it said 'To Scott and his family'. He wondered who it would be from as he placed it on the kitchen counter. He didn't have time to open it now, he had to wake the boys up.
Jacob and Hunter stayed here because they wanted to spend more time with Jacob's family.
Scott climbed up the stairs and felt the toll of the sleepless night's giving him less energy. He wished he could just forget about his wife for now but they've been together for such a long time. He never thought this would happen to their relationship. He wasn't prepared to cope.
"Boys," He spoke loud enough to partially pull them out of their dreams. Jacob was sprawled over the top of Hunter because there was very little room on the single bed. William was half hanging off his bed, not looking very comfortable. "Boys!"
Hunter jumped out of his dream with a gasp. When he couldn't get up, he looked down to see Jacob pinning him to the bed. He sighed and rubbed his eyes, trying not to think about his bad dream.
"Are you alright Hunter?" Scott asked with a friendly but worn out smile.
"Yeah," He breathed and shook Jacob's shoulder. "Wake up, we have college today."
He groaned a response and tried to roll over but there was no room. William sat up and squinted his eyes.
"I hate college," He whined before rising to his feet. Scott chuckled and opened the bathroom door that sat next to the bedroom.
"Get a shower, then make sure you're all downstairs in twenty minutes."
Jacob buried his head into Hunter's shoulder, thinking it was his pillow.
"Come on Jacob," He ran a hand through his soft hair. "It's time to get up."
Jacob eventually lifted his head and was pulled into the present. He looked around and really wished he could just lay in bed with Hunter all morning.

"Right, I'll see you when you've finished." Hunter stopped himself from turning around in the college corridor. He had a questioning look but understood that the bell would ring soon. "Are you sure you don't want me to stay with you?"
Jacob shook his head as they stood outside the classroom.
"I don't need babysitting."
Hunter grinned and wrapped his arms around him. Even though the hallway was full of other students waiting for the lesson to begin, he didn't care one bit.
"Fine," He leant forwards and kissed his cheeks. It created a few stares and whispers but a lot of people were really not bothered. "I'll see you later then." But just before he pulled away, Jacob gripped him tighter and kissed him on the lips.
Pleasure ran down Hunter's spine at his surprise burst of confidence.
"Bye." Jacob let go and gave him a cute smile. Hunter was somewhat star struck yet he kept himself together.
"Yeah, uh.... bye." He stared with glossy eyes when the door to the classroom opened and people began piling in. But Jacob didn't move, he could only stare back. Hunter then grinned, creating a little hint of a dimple in his cheek as he stepped forwards and pulled him into him. "I just need to-" He pushed their faces together and kissed him.
Jacob kissed back, feeling so much joy flowing through him. He has never felt this way at college before. He was always stood with his head down, trying to keep himself together enough to get through the day. Now, he looks forward to every day because Hunter is part of it.
The bell rang and Hunter reluctantly pulled away.
"I gotta go, see you soon."
Jacob watched him turn and sprint down the corridor with a twinkle in his eye. He then shifted towards the classroom though stopped when he saw Brad standing at the door.
"Hey," He greeted him with a sheepish expression. Jacob knew that he had apologised to Hunter but he hasn't spoken to him at all. "I uh, I know I owe you an apology but I don't want to do it here." Brad looked different. He looked... happy. "Would you like to sit next to me in class today?" He knew he should bow in his presence but they were in public so he didn't risk it.
With a bit of thought, Jacob nodded. He could feel his apology and he could see that he was a changed man. He was more relaxed, free and at ease with himself. Being in a new pack is just what he needed and he could see it.
"Thank you," He replied quietly and followed him into the room.

Hunter was one of the first students to quickly leave his lecture when it was done. He had the attention span of a four-year-old sometimes and found himself staring at the wall instead of the power point.
He was finished for the day and so was Jacob. Now it was time to find each other, head home, get some lunch and start training the God's powers. His telekinesis has not shown up yet and Hunter wanted him to be comfortable with everything he has received.
As he wandered through the busy corridor, a hand grabbed his arm, stopping him.
He turned to see a short woman with big eyes staring up at him. She wore a lot of makeup and had tightly fitting clothes on that clung to her curves. Hunter cringed and pulled his arm out of her grip.
This woman was called Casey. Hunter knew her through friends until one night when he was at a party, he got way too drunk and they took things a bit too far.
He barely remembers anything and she was just tipsy compared to the state he was in. She took advantage of him, yet there was still alcohol in both of their systems so he could not place the blame on anyone.
"Hey Hunter," She pouted her ruby red lips and stood closer. "I didn't see you at Joe's party last night."
"I've never been to one of Joe's parties," He frowned and took a step back.
"He invited you though. Why didn't you come? I wanted to see you."
Hunter shuddered. He felt awkward and started edging away.
"I didn't want to go. I was with-"
"That shy boy?" She glanced him up and down with fake eyelashes almost covering her cold blue eyes. "I've heard rumours about you and I know they're not true, after what we did."
"That was a mistake. In fact, that was probably the second biggest mistake I have ever made." The first one was, of course, not telling Jacob who he was the night they heard each other's voice in their heads.
"Now don't be like that. You enjoyed it. What's to say it won't happen again-"
Someone cleared their throat, making them both look up.
Jacob was standing behind Casey with crossed arms and a little frown. Hunter suddenly felt his jealousy filling him up to the very brim.
"Oh look," She smiled. "It's your rumour," She glanced him up and down, clearly liking what she saw. However, Jacob knew exactly what they were talking about and no woman was allowed to look at him like that. He completely trusted Hunter, it was other people who he could not fully rely on.
"Please excuse me," He said quietly. "But stop hitting on my boyfriend."
Hunter's eyes almost fell out of his head while his heart broke through his chest and filled with so much love. Casey raised her eyebrows and looked at Hunter, expecting him to laugh and deny it, but he didn't.
"You heard him." He reached out and pulled him into his side. The warmth connected when they did and like always, it felt sensational.
Casey rolled her eyes and stepped back.
"No wonder you kept telling me to stop. You were not even into girls."
Jacob watched her turn and swiftly leave. Was Hunter forced into having an intimate night with her?
"That sounded worse than what it is. I don't remember any of it, that's how drunk I was."
"That doesn't make it okay. She clearly wasn't," Jacob mumbled and started to glare at her when she glanced over.
"Hey," Hunter chuckled and cupped his chin, pulling his head to face him. "Play nice."
The emotion quickly left Jacob's face and he was back to his timid self once more.
"Can we go now? I'm hungry."
"Sure." Hunter spotted his pack waiting for them by the door as he pulled his mate over. William was with his own group of friends when he caught sight of his brother.
"Bye guys, I'll see you tomorrow." He separated himself and walked over, only to be bombarded by Sam.
"William! Wanna come to training today? It'll be so much fun. We're seeing what your brother is capable of, which is a lot. Actually, I've forgotten what powers-"
"Sam, shut up," Hunter hissed. "Not in public."
"Oh, sorry," He whispered but took William's wrist and pulled him out of the door.
Jonah raised his eyebrows and followed.
"Who gave him coffee?"
The rest of them also followed and enjoyed the sun shining on their skin. Jacob wanted to keep it sunny today because sometimes, he did like to see the clear blue sky. It was summer after all.
"Do you think you can change into your God wolf form?" Hunter questioned in his head. "I wanna see it again. It was amazing."
"I'll try," Jacob smiled when they approached the trees at the end of the car park.
As they all continued forwards, nobody saw the car with blacked out windows. Nobody saw them being observed as they headed through the woods. Nobody saw people taking photo's and nobody saw Grace's parents, watching Jacob.
