Chapter 63

Lunar Whispers

Everyone watched as Jacob focused on his power and his wolf form at the same time. Hunter, Sam, and William had seen his magnificent beast-like form but the other's had not.

"Wait, stop." Hunter instantly tensed and stared behind Jacob. "There are humans in the woods."

Sam sighed and uncrossed his arms.

"I'll tell my dad so they can stalk them out." Even though it is very common to see human's in the woods, many, many werewolves use this area to be free and run for miles. When people are spotted, Wolves keep watch and inform other's of their location until they leave.

"Ricky, stay and keep watch until Sam's father meets you."

"Oh but, I wanted-"

"Don't question me, Omega," He snapped. Ricky stopped and immediately bowed his head.

"Sorry Alpha."

Hunter looked around his pack and avoided Jacob's gaze, knowing he'd have a disappointed frown. Yes, he is harsh but he's a lot nicer than some Alphas. Especially to his Omega's. Not many packs include them every day but it was how his parents used them, so he does the same.

"Where's Zac?"

"We tried to contact him this morning," Jonah spoke as Ricky walked through the trees. "But we didn't get a reply."

"Can you try again?"

Jonah nodded and switched on his mind link.

"Come on, I can hear your belly growling from here," Hunter chuckled and took Jacob's hand.

Jacob brushed off his dominant nature. It was something he just has to live with. He can't change him and he would never want to.

* * * * *

As they approached the top of the field that was home to Hunter's house, Jacob was getting excited to try out his telekinesis power. He had accepted the fact that it was weird and strange for him to be able to do things that others could not. But that is what make's him unique and he is slowly starting to embrace it.

"Maybe you can make a sandwich with your mind," Hunter grinned. Jacob stared at him like it was the best thing he has heard all day. "Or... maybe use it for useful things and not just to develop laziness."

Jacob's eyes seemed to glaze over with thoughts of all the magical things he could do with his powers, like making food without even moving from the couch. However, he would never be that inactive but it didn't mean he couldn't enjoy the idea.

"Hi boys," Anthony beamed as he and Margo sat next to each other on the porch steps. They were enjoying the sunshine and enjoying one another's company. "Do you have anything fun planned for the rest of the day?"

"Just training," Hunter smiled. "We're gonna help Jacob get used to his powers."

"Can we help? I'd love to see that too," Margo's smile was very bright, friendly and calming.

Jacob nodded, feeling a lot more relaxed in their presence which was a big thing for him. It used to take him ages to get used to strangers.

"Great! Would you boys like some food?"

"It's okay mum, we'll make it." Hunter's pack stayed behind, knowing they would not get food even if they bribed Margo.

When they entered the house, Jacob had a question.

"Are you gonna look for a new Delta wolf?" He asked and patiently stood next to the sink, not wanting to invade the fridge like what Hunter was currently doing.

"Yeah, but I don't need one right now. It's better to sort you out first. I might start looking this weekend though. I want to expand the pack. Sometimes I think it's too small when I hear of other's in different countries having like twenty members." Hunter dropped a mountain of food on the table and told Jacob to help himself.

"I sat with Brad today in class."

"You did?"

"Yeah, he was being nice."

Hunter gave him a little smile.

"Maybe I should invite him round this week."

"I think you should."

"I'm just glad he has found another pack. If he's happy then it was worth it for him to leave mine."

Jacob nodded but stopped and stared at the door. He suddenly looked concern.

"What's up?" Hunter watched a frown curl onto his forehead.

"I just got a feeling in my stomach that something's wrong."

Hunter walked around the table and put a hand on his shoulder.

"Wrong, how?"

"I-I don't know. I just feel like someone's here that shouldn't be." Jacob got up and quickly walked outside. He stopped behind Hunter's parents and examined the outskirts of the woods with his eyes.

"Are you alright Jacob?" Anthony questioned and stood up.

"No," He breathed. "We're being watched."

Margo stood up when a fearful spike hit her heart.

"How do you know that?"

"I can feel it," He breathed and rubbed his chest. "They're humans."

"Do you know where they are?" Anthony asked.

Jacob watched the approaching clouds until an unusual dark patch hovered over an area of the woods.

"There," He pointed to it. "They know about the wolves."

"Are they werewolf Hunters?"

Jacob nodded. He had no idea why he knew any of this. It was almost like the clouds were whispering to him about the dangers not too far away. It was warning him so he could keep people safe.

There was no evidence to believe him and if they didn't know he was a God, they would not be listening to his assumptions.

"The pack is on their way," Anthony said to his wife. He then turned to his son's mate with questioning eyes. "What should we do, Jacob?"

Jacob seemed like he was lost in thought however, he heard him.

"They're watching me through a telescope," He turned so they couldn't lip read. "I know exactly where they are, let me keep track until they're gone. Don't give them a reason to be suspicious." His Godly personality was shining through and even though he could control what he was saying, it was coming out unexpectedly.

Anthony nodded with a smile. He liked this little insight into what he is capable of, so did Hunter. He was taking responsibility, acting rational and portraying leadership.

He then snapped out of his little trail of thought and started fidgeting.

"Sorry um, Y-You can keep watch if you want to," He didn't want to start taking over the situation.

"No, it's fine. You're our leader Jacob," Anthony sat on the steps once more. He was very cautious and he did not like that they were being watched.

Jacob turned and stared at the sky again.

Hunter studied him, knowing he was up to something.

"You're making it rain?" He asked as the sunny day quickly turned dark.

"They'll leave quicker."

"I like your thinking."

Margo was very concerned that this might have something to do with Grace's parents. Has she told them about Jacob? Has she told them about this family being werewolves?

"Did you manage to get hold of Zac?" Hunter asked Jonah.

"No. He's still blocking my mind-link."

"He's blocking mine too," Hunter tapped his chin with thought. "Go to his house and see if he's okay. If everything is fine, bring him here and tell him we need to talk."

Jonah knew that was his Alpha's way of saying he's in a lot of trouble. He turned and started walking away. He couldn't change into his wolf, not when there were people watching them.

"Wait," Jacob said quickly. "It's not safe. They have weapons."

Jonah stopped with worried eyes. He didn't want to be hunted down and killed.

Hunter turned to his dad who now looked too concerned for his liking. It has been a while since they have had to deal with humans stalking their family.

"Stay put, my pack is almost here. If there are more of us, they should hopefully move away."

Jacob had allowed it to rain over the humans and hoped it would work in making them leave. It was strange for him to be so knowledgeable about what was going on. However, he liked that he could help.

"How many are there?" Hunter asked.

"Five."

"Well, whatever happens, I'm confident because we have a God-" Jacob covered his mouth and turned him around.

"We need to go inside, they're lip reading you now."

"Why can't I see that far?" Sam sulked and climbed the steps. "We have sharper vision than humans but those telescope things are what I need."

Everyone entered the home as Anthony's pack approached the house in their human form. They followed, making the small studio very full.

William felt incredibly outnumbered but very privileged to be among the supernatural.

"I don't like this," Anthony ran a hand through his hair. "Do we have eyes on where the grandparents are?"

"Yes," Ray, his Beta wolf stepped forwards. "I have just been told that they were outside the college when the boys left."

"What!?" William almost yelled. "They were watching us?"

"We didn't change into wolves, we walked home because there were humans in the woods," He turned to Sam with concern. "Did your dad reach them?"

Sam nodded.

"They were innocent hikers that are out of the woods now. Ricky is on his way here. I've told him to walk because of what is going on."

"Jacob, do you think your mum has told her parents about you?" Margo asked him.

"I don't know," He sighed quietly. "I don't think she would do that."

"Well we didn't think she'd do a lot of things," William sighed. "But he's right, that seems like too much."

"There is quite obviously something going on if your grandparents are watching you," Flora spoke as she walked out of the bathroom with a flowery robe and wet hair. "Your Omega Zac seems suspiciously absent."

Hunter's eyes intensely watched her soulful ones.

"That's just a coincidence. He's loyal."

"Is he really?" She started making herself some tea. "Why is he blocking your mind-link then?"

Hunter looked around his men who lowered their eyes with respect.

"There's no way he has something to do with this. He's a member of my pack." Nobody wanted to believe that he was corrupt and involved with this but it was very odd.

"William, call your father to see if everything is okay with him. I know he's at work right now but tell him to come here when he's done, not home." Anthony sighed.

William nodded and pulled his phone from his pocket.

"I'll get in touch with Zac's parents and see where he is. It just doesn't sit well with me that he's ignoring his Alpha." Margo turned and reached for her phone too.

The atmosphere was stiff, causing everyone to feel a little edgy. Something deeper was going on if it involved Grace's parents. But in what way? How much did they know? They can't question them because that would give away their secret. However, they could not just sit back and allow things to unfold for them.

Time is precious in a situation like this and Jacob knew there wasn't much of it left.

Hunter suddenly gasped and dropped to one knee when an unfamiliar voiced boomed in his head. Everyone jumped with shock.

Hunter held his head with a fearful frown as the words were strongly embedded onto his brain, giving him a fierce headache.

"What's happening? Hunter are you-"

"It's okay," Jacob interrupted Anthony and spoke softly. He knelt in front of Hunter without a hint of panic. "He's receiving our first mission."
