âItâs good that you find time to come, Tyron.â Gabriel said as Tyron takes a seat.
âThis is important to me and my family... and also the Morganâs, I cannot let this pass.â Tyron said.
âI suggest you brace yourself for the result of the investigation. I, myself, canât even believe it so I had to double... no, triple check everything.â Gabriel said making him frown and curious at the same time.
âWhat do you mean?â Tyron asks.
âBefore everything, knowing you, I am sure that you confront Don Samuel about your fatherâs death.â Gabriel said and he nods in agreement. âCan you tell me what he said.â
âOf course, he denied the accusation and he is saying that someone is behind it and their target is his son. It is just unfortunate that my father is meeting with him that night.â He said. âBut I donât know what to believe, Gab. It is hard to believe that my father will meet up with him, if it might be true, what is his purpose? Why would they meet?â Tyron asks in despair.
He still remembers that night when they learned about his fatherâs deathâhis mother collapse upon the news and he and his older brother cried their eyes out.
âBefore anything else, from whom did you learned about your fatherâs death? And did you learn about it the next day or exactly that night?â Gabriel asks again. âAnd who told you that Don Samuel Morgan is the one who killed your father?â
Tyron is confused as to why his friend is asking him those questions but he still did answer him truthfully as what he remembers that night.
âThat night, Uncle Fred, my dadâs older brother suddenly barged in the house and told us that father is dead and the culprit is Don Samuel.â Tyron answers. âIt is also that very night that Uncle Fred told me and my brother about how the feud between the two families started that is why I grew up with much hatred against the Don. There is no day that I keep thinking on how to avenge my father...â Tyron clenches his fist.
âThen Isabella enters the picture, and the Don bait you with his company.â Gabriel said.
âYes, when the Don made that proposal, I thought that is my chance to avenge my father and to get back what really is ours. But somehow, the thought of hurting Isabella breaks my heart.â He confesses. âThe more time I spend with her, the happier I become to the point of even forgetting about getting my revenge.â
âYou fell in love with your wife.â Gabriel said firmly making him smile.
âYou have no idea how much I detest her when I found out that she conspires with her grandfather to deceive me. But that didnât last long, the moment I heard that the old Don is hospitalize, I canât help not to drag Isabella to the hospital to see the old Don, and I donât know why I did that;
maybe it is to see Don Samuel on his miserable state or because I want Isabella to be with him even just for a moment.â Tyron sighs. âI detest him with all my life then all of the sudden, after listening to his side, I begin doubting my hatred towards him. Is it because of Isabella or it is because he sounds so sincere...? I donât know anymore, Gab.â
âMaybe because you felt his sincere heart, Tyron.â Gabriel said. âHe is telling the truth, man. He has nothing to do with the death of your father and his son.â He added making him laugh bitterly.
âThen I wasted my time and energy hating the wrong person.â
âThe reason why I asked you those questions earlier is because I want to know who put the blame on Don Samuel. And it turns out to be your Uncle.â
Gabriel said with hesitation. âBefore we continue this conversation, I want you to watch this CCTV footage.â Gabriel added as he his laptop towards Tyron.
The video is years old and he doesnât know how did Gabriel obtained it but he can clearly see a familiar man breaking his way unto the parked car and left in a hurry few minutes later. Then after a while he saw two familiar figures approaching the same carâit was no other than his father and Isabellaâs. The two men are happy talking to each other and entered the car, then they drove off.
âDo you know the man who break into the car?â Gabriel asks.
Tyron nodded as he canât believe what he saw. âIt was no other than Henry, the right hand of.... He is the right hand of Uncle Fred.â He manages to answer with a heavy heart.
âIâm sorry to say this... I know that you deeply respect your Uncle Fred that is why I am really hesitant to tell you about the result of the investigation, but I canât just let you live believing a total lie. Don Samuel is suffering for years for being accused of something he didnât do, and aside from that his life is also being targeted.â Gabriel said examining his friend. âI am guessing that Don Samuel already told you the reason why they put up an act about kicking his daughter-in-law and granddaughter out of the house after the death of his son.â
Tyron sighs before nodding. âTell me honestly, is Uncle Fred the mastermind?â
Gabriel sternly looks at him before answering, âYes, unfortunately. I double checked everything and every evidence is pointing at him.â
âOh gosh!â Tyron exclaimed as he clenched both his fist. âThe enemy is closer than I thought, but how could he kill his own brother?â He asks clenching his jaw.
âHis only target is the sole heir of Don Samuel, he miscalculated that your father will join don Samuelâs heir that night.â Gabriel answers as he opens a thick folder and handed it to Tyron. âThose are the results of my investigation. And to tell you honestly, you are in a great danger.â Gabriel firmly said. âYour Uncle is keeping his watch on you and Isabella when news broke out that you two are getting along well. I already appointed men to keep watch on him and it seems that he is planning to kill you.â
âBut why?â Tyron asks in despair. âwhy would he do that? I treated him like a father, so why?â
âWealth and power.â Gabriel answers. âAfter he kills you, he will frame Isabella, saying that the reason why Isabella married to your family is to kill you to avenge her fatherâs death.â
âThatâs absurd!â
âUnfortunately, he already has it planned. Right now, I asked my men to protect your family, Isabella and Don Samuel.â Gabriel said.
âThank you for that. I am really grateful.â Tyron said. He is grateful to meet a friend such as Gabriel. If Phil didnât call him that day, he will not be entangled with their mess and will not meet great friends. Who knows what would happened if he didnât meet them?
âI have been wondering, do you know the reason of the feud between your family and the Morganâs?â
âIt is said that Don Samuel stole my grandfatherâs company.â Tyron answers making Gabriel laugh.
âOh, Iâm sorry but your family sure is great at fabricating things, eh?â Gabriel said as if mocking him but at that moment, he doesnât feel offended nor get angry. âHonestly, the main reason of the feud is not about stealing oneâs company or such...â Gabriel pointed at the folder and mentioned a page number.
Even though heâs frowning, he scanned the page and was shocked to what he just seen.
âBecause of a woman?â Tyron canât believe what he has just read. âWhat the heck!â
âItâs the truth, though.â Gabriel shrugs. âYour grandfather, Henry and Don Samuel are best friends but they fall in love with the same girl, Margarette. It turns out that the girl is just toying with them. Don Samuel has no idea that Margarette is already your grandfatherâs girlfriend so when she invited him out for dinner, Don Samuel agreed. And on that same night, the friendship between the two ended because Henry caught Don Samuel and Margarette on act... you already know what I mean by that.â
âDamn! Woman sure is a pain in the butt.â
âI agree!â Gabriel agrees. âBecause of that your grandfather stole the company he and the Don put up together, which is now the Cruz Enterprise.
Don Samuel didnât do anything about it and he just let Henry took over the company because he thought that it is his punishment for laying a finger on The Billionaire 3: Tyron Cruz Margarette.â
âSo, all along it is my family who stole the company from Don Samuel and yet we are accusing him for many years. He sure is strong enough to bear the shame and weight of our false accusation.â Tyron sighs. âAnd it is all because of a woman who is just toying with them for money.â
âThat is the start of the feud, years later both of them got married and had a family. That feud didnât stop the blossoming friendship between your father and Don Samuelâs only heir. Your father kept his friendship with the Morgans in secret, they had a strong bond, I must say. They even wanted to end the feud once and for all.â
âBut their wish didnât come true. They were killed and until now, justice has not been served.â
âBut now, justice will be served, Tyron. I will do my very best to help you on this case. We already have enough evidences to put your Uncle behind bars.â
âThank you, Gabriel. I canât thank you enough for your help.â Tyron said. It is hard for him to accept the truth but he will not turn a blind eye on this oneâhis Uncleâs actions cost them two lives. âNow, I need to go back to the hospital as I owe Don Samuel an apology. It took us two generations to know the truth.â
âWell, your Uncle is good at brainwashing.â
âI always looked at him with respect but after learning the truth...â Tyron sighs.
They talk for a while regarding the case that will be filed against Frederick âFredâ Cruz before they head out together.
âIâll call you if your Uncle is doing something suspicious.â Gabriel said.
âThanks, man.â Tyron said as he enters his car. âI will go back to the hospital and check things out.â
âYeah, sure. See you later.â Gabriel said and walks away as he waved his hand.
Tyron on the other hand canât still believe what he just learned. All along the murderer of his father is just close to them and yet they are blaming the wrong person. With a heavy heart, he started the engine and leans on the chair when he heard something ticking inside of his car. It is at that moment that he felt something was off; he looks outside his window and saw Gabriel frantically running towards his direction and he is somewhat shouting something and signaling him something.
