—.7 The Tomb

ALWAYS AND FOREVER

The Salvatore's and Katherine were still stuck in the room, waiting for Bonnie or Katherine's personal witch takes down the boundary spell.

"The four of us together just like old times. The brother who loved me too much, the brother who didn't love me enough and their innocent little sister." Katherine said.

"And the evil slut vampire who only loved herself." Damon added with his back facing the group.

Katherine turned her attention to him, adjusting heeled on the couch to a more comfortable position, "What happened to you Damon? You used to be so sweet and polite."

"Oh, that Damon died a long time ago." Damon mentioned, turning to face the group.

"Good. He was a bore."

Aurora and Stefan rolled their eyes, fed up with Damon and Katherine's bickering or flirting? Who knows, "Oh, why don't you two stop antagonizing each other?" Stefan complained from his spot leaning against the wall.

"Where's the moonstone?"

"What do you want with it?" Stefan retorted.

"Does Elena enjoy having both of you worship at her alter? Because I know Aurora isn't a fan." Katherine smirked at the youngest Salvatore.

Stefan looks between both his siblings before looking back at the old vampire, "That was really desperate, Katherine. Don't you think that we can see right through you?"

"So, it doesn't bother you that Damon's in love with your girlfriend?"

"Of course he is." Aurora muttered under her breath, ignoring the looks her brothers were giving her.

"Oh, stop it." Stefan said.

Katherine stood from the couch, "Or what? You'll hurt me?"

"Come on, Stefan. Everything that I feel, Elena feels, so go ahead," Katherine switched her attention from Stefan to Damon, "Or better yet, kiss me Damon. She'll feel that too."

Stefan clenched his jaw, "You know, this whole Mason thing has me a bit confused. Why a werewolf? The moonstone can break a curse that would help them destroy all vampires so what's in it for you?"

Aurora's eyes widened, they know about the curse. Maybe not the real one but they are really close to figuring it out.

"Sorry about your pet wolf, probably should have kept him on a tighter leash." Damon faked a sympathetic look.

"I'll have to remember that for next time. He's not the only wolf in town."

In the room of the Lockwood mansion, Damon paced around the door, growing increasingly impatient by the minute, "Damn it! Where is that witch?"

"We could play charades."

"You bargained the moonstone." Stefan suddenly spoke up, a thoughtful expression on his face.

"What are you mumbling about over there?" Damon questioned.

Stefan pointed at Katherine, pushing himself off of the wall, "When you struck a deal with George Lockwood, to help you fake your death, you told me that he needed it. It was the moonstone, wasn't it?"

"Good for you, Stefan. Two plus two...And it would have worked except that people found out that I wasn't in the tomb." She sent a look to Damon.

"Thanks to you, by the way. Have I mentioned how inconvenient your obsession with me has been?"

Aurora leaned back into the couch. That was one of the reasons she related to Katherine, she knew all about having someone obsessed with you was like.

"You and be both, honey."

"Why do you need it back?" Stefan questioned as Aurora continued to grow uncomfortable with the topic.

"I love you in a suit, so dashing."

Stefan ignored Katherine's flirt, "What were you doing with it in the first place?"

"You're wasting your breath, Stefan." Aurora commented, hoping to switch the conversation.

"Unless it wasn't yours to begin with. In 1864 you faked your death. Who were you running from, Katherine?"

Aurora froze, watching as Katherine turned to her, "Our little Rory knows all about it, ask her." She mentioned, walking closer to her and carefully lifting the necklace around her neck that had an m crested into it.

Both brothers looked between the women with confused expressions, but neither believed that their beloved sister would keep something so big from them.

Aurora tugged to necklace out of Katherine's grasp, walking over to the cart of alcohol, "In 1987 you were in Chicago, at a concert of all places with that wench, Lexi," Katherine mentioned, now facing Stefan, "Come on Stefan, don't look so surprised. Of course I checked on you over the years. You were standing in the front row, dancing all night. You were watching Bon Jovi and I was watching you."

"Who were you running from?" He tried again.

Katherine said nothing but mouthed the words "I love you." To him.

"We're missing the party. I'll have one of those." Katherine said as Damon filled up a glass with brown liquid.

Damon mimicked a servant boy, "Right away, miss Katherine." He have her a glass.

"Thank you."

Katherine took a sip before Damon grabbed her and pushed her against the wall. And tried to stake her but Stefan stopped him, "No! No, Damon don't."

"Yes, Damon please." Katherine cooed.

"The second the spell is lifted, I'm gonna drive a stake through your heart." He threatened.

"God, your hot. When did you get so hot?" Katherine added, causing Aurora to roll her eyes and continue to sip on the bourbon.

Lucy suddenly arrived in the door way, with the moonstone in hand, "Katherine, the spell on this room has been broken, you're free to leave."

"Thank god."

"When I hand this over my debt to you is over." The witch reminded.

"Done." Katherine nodded.

"I owe you nothing."

Katherine started to get annoyed, "I said done. Give it." She held out her hand for the stone.

"I wouldn't do that." Damon warned.

Lucy handed Katherine the moonstone. When Katherine touched it, she suddenly couldn't breath, "You should have told me another witch was involved. She's a Bennet witch, Katherine, but I'm sure you knew that."

"Wait, Elena!" Stefan stressed.

"Elena's fine." Lucy mentioned, watching Katherine tumble to the floor, "The spell is broken. She'll heal quickly, Bonnie's with her."

"I apologize for my involvement." She said before walking away, leaving Katherine unconscious.

After a moment of staring at Katherine's unconscious form, Aurora spoke, "I think I have the perfect place for her."

Katherine woke up in the tomb. The moonstone on the floor, next to her. She takes it and gets up. She tries to leave but his pushed back by a barrier, as both Damon and Aurora arrived.

"Hello Katherine." The siblings said in unison.

"Where am I?"

Aurora stepped closer to the entrance of the tomb, "Where you should have been all along."

"We thought you'd have learned your lesson by now, messing with a Bennet witch." Damon continued Auroras statement.

"You should have killed me."

"Death would have been too kind." Damon commented as he started closing the tomb door.

"No, Damon, don't. Aurora! Don't, you need me, Elena's in danger." Katherine pleaded.

Damon paused, "From who?"

Katherine doesn't answer, only stares ahead at Aurora who was daring her to say anything. Katherine wouldn't say it, Aurora knew that much. She was too scared to even utter the name.

"You're lying. You're always lying."

"Why do you think I haven't killed her? Because she's the doppelgänger. She needs to be protected."

"Then I'll protected her, while you rot in hell." Damon replied and started to close the door once again.

"No, Damon, don't! I'll do anything, please. Damon! You need me! Aurora, please. You know what will happen when he comes! You need me!"

Aurora and Damon ignored Katherine's pleas. When Damon completely closed the tomb door, he stood there with a faraway look, "She deserves it, Dames. Don't feel bad." Aurora rubbed his arm.

"Yeah, I know," he whispered, before throwing an arm over her shoulder and leading her outside the tomb, "You want a drink? Because I think we deserve one."

Aurora giggled, "Yeah, I'll have one, I guess."
