â3. The Plan
ALWAYS AND FOREVER
If you asked Aurora to go back to Mystic Falls, her immediate answer would be no.
But if you are someone she cares about and loves deeply, like her brothers, she will be there.
So she was a bit reluctant in packing and driving there. The place that should have felt like home.
It didn't fell like that anymore. Driving past the Welcome to Mystic Falls sign, Aurora knew she practically just signed her death sentence. Especially with doppelgänger's running around.
Aurora parked at the grill, she needed to feed. As long as she drank some alcohol to keep the cravings down she wouldn't go on a ripper rampage.
Plus, the Salvatore boarding house will have some blood bags. Hopefully they have O negative, it's the blandest type of blood, and is good for new vampires, but if Aurora wants to keep herself in control, she can't have the good stuff.
Walking in the grill, her senses are immediately filled with different smells of greasy burgers and teenage boys axe body spray, who where ogling at her, not even hiding their attraction.
The most prominent was the blood she could smell, and the sounds of hearts beating, it was overwhelming.
She needed a drink. A strong one.
"Bourbon please." Aurora ordered, sitting on the stool.
The bartender nodded, before preparing her drink, while Aurora was waiting- she tapped her daylight ring against the wood of the bar, catching the bartenders reaction.
His eyes widened and his heartbeat got faster, but managed to keep a calm facade, "That ring looks familiar."
Aurora looked up, "Oh, have you met my brothers?" She asked, she didn't really care to hide she was a vampire. She could always just compel him later.
"Stefan and Damon are your brothers?" The bartender asked, exasperated, "So, you're a...?"
Aurora nodded, "Yes and yes."
The blond bartender handed her the drink slowly, "I've never seen you around before." He said cautiously, watching as she gulped down the Bourbon, not even flinching from the taste.
"I'm not the biggest fan of Mystic Falls." Aurora mentioned.
The man nodded in agreement, "Yeah, tell me about it."
Suddenly, Aurora's phone vibrated. The name 'demon' popped up on her screen.
"Plan forming. Need you, now.
-Love, Damon. Your favourite brother"
Aurora let out an inaudible scoff, before leaning over the bar -looking into the bartenders blue eyes, "You will not remember seeing me here, or the fact that I'm a vampire. Forget me. Stefan and Damon don't have a sister." She compelled.
"I won't remember." He repeated in monotone.
"Good." Aurora nodded, a smile smile on her face, "Have a good day." She said, before walking out the door and driving to the boarding house.
Arriving at the boarding house- she decided to tease her brothers. She sped into the boarding house, speeding around- scaring everyone inside.
"What is that?!"
"Katherine?!"
Suddenly the blur jumped onto Damon's back, snarling in his ear, causing him and everyone to jump.
Damon flipped her over, slamming her into the wall- holding her there before he got a good look at her face.
"Gremlin, don't do that!" Damon scolded, letting her go.
Aurora laughed, "You should have seen your face,"Â She said, giggling before hugging him, "Hi, Demon."
Damon smirked, hugging her back, "Hello, Gremlin."
They detached from their hug, sharing a small smile before Aurora walked to greet Stefan.
"Hi, Steffy," She greeted, smiling warmly -wrapping her arms around him.
"Thanks for coming, Rory." Stefan thanked, hugging his sister back.
"It's no problem," She patted his back lightly, "I'd do anything for you guys."
The sound of someone clearing their throat broke the Salvatore siblings apart and looked to where the obnoxious noice came from.
"Who is this?" A chirpy blonde pointed a finger at Aurora, asking both brothers.
Stefan cleared his throat -while Damon only smirked, throwing an arm around Aurora's shoulders.
"This is Aurora Salvatore. Our sister, my twin," Stefan introduced his sister, "She's younger by 3 minutes."
Aurora rolled her eyes, "You always have to throw that in, don't you?"
Stefan looked at her, sending a small smirk and nodded, "Yeah, I do." He confirmed.
"Sister!?" The blonde shouted, "You have a sister and you said nothing, Oh, my God!"
Aurora looked between her brothers, "You never mentioned me?"
Both brothers shrugged, "You've always liked to keep your life private, we didn't want to say too much." Stefan corrected, hoping he didn't hurt his sisters feelings.
Aurora nodded, accepting his answer, "Good idea."
"So, how about this plan to kill Katherine?" She clapped her hands together.
Aurora didn't exactly want Katherine dead -she was still sort of her friend. But, she knew not to dwell on it. Because, no matter what, Stefan and Damon would never be able to kill her. She meant to much to them.
So far, she has met everyone in the group -or at least everyone in the plan to kill Katherine.
Which included, Alaric Saltzman -the vampire Hunter- history teacher. Jeremy Gilbert -Elena's little brother. Bonnie Bennet -the neighborhood witch, and very against vampire everything. But, she had reasons Aurora didn't care enough to dig for. Then, Caroline Forbes, probably Aurora's favourite out of everyone. She kind of reminded Aurora of herself when she was human.
And Caroline was already planning a girls sleepover and shopping trip, so Aurora might have been slightly forced into liking the young vampire.
But after figuring out the plan -Stefan, Damon and Aurora would be in one of the rooms of the Lockwood mansion, waiting for Katherine to arrive and stake her.
So, currently, she was bringing in her luggage -which wasn't much because she didn't expect to stay here long -kill Katherine and leave. That was her plan.
Aurora didn't need the Mystic Falls problems topped onto the pile of her own.
When she entered her room in the boarding house, it looked brand new. Everything was modern and new. Aurora was not expecting her brothers to keep up with the times for her room.
"We wanted to keep it nice for you if you ever decided to come back." Stefan's voice travelled through the room, causing Aurora to turn and face him -seeing him leaning against the door frame.
Aurora gave a small smile, "Thanks. But you know I don't like it here." She pointed out, throwing her suitcase on the king-sized bed and unzipped it.
"I know," Stefan nodded sadly, "It was nice to come in here though. Felt like you were with us even when you weren't."
Aurora playfully rolled her eyes, "You're making it sound like I died."
"You did," Stefan restored, causing Aurora's smile to fall slightly, "We all did. We're not the same people anymore and that's okay, Rory."
"Why are you saying this?" Aurora asked after clearing her throat, while standing up straight.
He walked closer to her, "Because I know you beat yourself up about...everything," Stefan lifted his eyebrows as a way of suggesting ripper, "And I want to help you. Even with my emotions off, I still cared about you, I always will."
Aurora nodded, trying to keep her tears at bay, "I always was worse than you, wasn't I?"
Stefan nodded silently, it wasn't a secret Aurora had even less control than the ripper of Monterey. But she did create some massacres of her own, one example being : the macabre massacre of Geneva, France.
"I'm good now. No cravings, nothing." Aurora assured him, rubbing his arm up and down.
Stefan shook his head, "The cravings are always there. Trust me, I would know."
Aurora knew he was right, she never lived a day in her life without the cravings in the back of her mind -after becoming a vampire, "Well, I've got it somewhat under control. I'm only drinking blood bags now." Aurora mentioned, hoping to make Stefan feel better.
"That's good," Stefan smiled, "But if you do lose control, or have one of your episodes, let me know. I'll help in anyway I can."
"Thanks, Stef." Aurora smiled, pulling him in for a hug. Laying her head on his shoulder.
Stefan nodded his head, "You're my sister. I will always protect you." He pressed a small kiss to her forehead.
They stayed in that position for a moment before separating, "How are things between you and Damon?" Aurora asked, wiping the small tear that fell from her eye.
"Tense. But better." Stefan answered.
Aurora nodded, "Good. But now that I'm here you guys are going to be as thick as thieves in no time."
Stefan chuckled, "Yeah, good luck with that."
"Don't worry, I have all the tricks to get through Damon's thick skull."
Stefan rolled his eyes playfully, although, if Damon were to listen to anyone -other than Elena. It would be Aurora, "He's always better when you're around." He mentioned, forming a small smile.
Aurora smiled back before walking back to her suitcase and unpacking her clothes into the closet in her room.
Stefan took that as a sign to leave and let Aurora unpack in peace, but he stopped at the doorway, "Thanks again, Rory. I really appreciate you being here to help."
Aurora looked over to him, "No problem, Steffy."
Stefan sent a fleeting smile before leaving, walking back downstairs.
Aurora let out a huff and slouched down onto the soft bed. This place is her nightmare -and she can already feel all the things that will go wrong, not just with this plan to kill Katherine, but everything -and Aurora was going to be caught in the middle, she just knew it.
Because no matter what, she couldn't leave her brothers in trouble, even if she needed to get out -she wouldn't if they really needed her.
Aurora just hoped she wouldn't run into the one person she has been running from for the past century.
But Aurora was never the luckiest person.
