The Queen's Alpha
*violence warning*
Aria's POV
Standing in front of the dungeon doors was something I never wished to do. The dark, eerie feeling that resounded from inside the underground prison gave me chills up my spine. The two very large guards move from the door, allowing Damon and I to walk down the steep stairs.
"I hate this place..." I whisper, holding Damon's hand tightly.
"It's not meant to be enjoyed." Damon grumbled, he tried to joke but it came out more as an insult. I knew he didn't mean too, his wolf was very angry and he was having a hard time controlling him. The fact that a rogue wolf got past our borders, hinted at a possible spy in our kingdom.
"I think I might throw up." I say, as we reach the bottom of the stairs. The many empty prison cells reeked of feces, blood, and vomit. Being pregnant didn't help with the bile that arose in my throat. We walked to end of the hallway of cells, into a large office-like room. It was very clean and pristine, there was a one way mirror on the opposite side of the room. I could see a very dirty and beaten man sitting chained to a chair through the mirror.
"Your Majesties." The warriors say in unison, bowing towards us. They were all awaiting our arrival to question him.
"Has he said anything?" Damon asks, letting go of my hand to take off his suit coat . He rolls up the sleeves of his white button up shirt, walking towards the window.
"He's been completely silent." Adam, one of the warriors, says.
"I'll make him talk." Damon says, walking back over to me. The warriors dismiss themselves to go get a report from the wolves who ran the border.
"You sure you got this?" I ask Damon.
"Oh, I think I'll be just fine." He says, prideful. I look up at him as he hands me his suit coat, his eyes keep flashing gold. I could feel his wolf fighting to be let loose.
"Just don't kill him." I say, reaching up to undo his bow tie. I pull it off of him and press a quick peck to his lips.
"I'll try not to." He says, walking to the door that leads into the room the wolf was being held in. I slide his suit coat on, over my sleeveless dress, loving the way his scent wraps around me. I fidget with his bow tie as he walks into the room. I walk up to the window listening to the conversation through the speaker that connected the two rooms.
"So you can either answer my question willingly and you'll be fine or I'll force the answers out of you." Damon says, his voice getting deeper as he lets his wolf have slight control.
The rogue doesn't reply, he continues to stare forward, right at me.
"Which are you gonna choose?" Damon says walking in front of him. He makes eye contact with Damon as a smirk makes his way into his bruised face.
"I guess you're choosing the hard way." Damon says. "Who do work for?"
The rogue doesn't reply, just stares up at Damon with a sickly look. Damon quickly gets angry and punches the man. The mans head falls to the side, he looks back up at Damon, his nose bleeding.
"Answer me!"
The rogue smirks at Damon showing off his bloodied teeth. He then spits blood right in Damon's face, wrong move, rogue.
"You just messed with the wrong Alpha." Damon evilly smiles at the man. I can feel him let his wolf take complete control through our link. His instantly grabs the man by his neck and pulls him up into the air with the chair. He lets out a loud roar, as the rogue starts to turn blue. The other warriors enter the room, upon hear the loud noise.
"Tell me!" Damon's wolf roars, his claws forming from his hands. He then throws the man at the far wall, the chair breaking into millions of pieces. I've never seen Damon so violent, I knew he was capable of it, every Alpha is, but it scared me to see him like this. He then pounces on top of the man and starts digging his claws into the rogue.
"Queen Aria, he's going to kill that man if we don't stop him. Do we have permission to intervene?" Adam asks me. I knew if anyone other than me were to go into that room they'd be bait.
"I'm the only one who can stop him, I'll go in." I say, mustering up all the courage I could. I feel my wolf help me, pushing me to stop him.
"Damon, stop before you kill him!" I yell, as soon as I enter the room. He stops for a split second, looking at me.
"Aria, get out of her before you get hurt." He says, going back to sinking his claws into the man.
"No, Damon, get off of him now!" I say, using my Luna command for the first time. He instantly gets off the the bloody man and looks at me. His shirt has blood stains all over it and the blood was still on his face.
"You used your Luna command." He says, his eyes slowing turning back to their original color.
"Yes, now get out of this room." I say pointing toward the door. "Now!"
He quickly scurries out of the room, I look back the the man laying on the ground. He makes eye contact with me, a sly look washing over his face.
"You have your mothers eyes..." He whispers, I quickly leave the room, slamming the door behind me.
"Warriors, lock him up in a cell. Make sure he doesn't bleed out, we need information from him." I say, all the men following my commands.
"As for you," I say, looking directly at Damon. "To the suite now."
I storm in front of him, he follows me like a lost puppy. For some reason, I felt upset with him. He almost killed the one thing that will give us more information of the war we were preparing to face. Once we reach the suite, Damon try's to plead his case.
"Baby, I couldn't control my wolf, you know that." He pleads, showing his hands in surrender. His hands were stained red with the rogues blood, his shirt and face as well.
"Go clean yourself before you talk anymore." I grumble out, walking toward the couch. He wanders upstairs to change, while I plop down on the couch. I kick my heels off and place a hand on my growing bump. My ankles had begun to swell, causing my feet to throb in pain. Now almost 2 months into my 5 month pregnancy, I was already wanting to have my baby in my arms instead of dealing with all the side affects. I rest against the plush couch, resting my feet on the coffee table. I close my eyes, trying to calm my annoyance toward my mate. I hear foot steps walk down the stairs, I open my eyes, meeting the handsome man.
"Okay, I'm all clean." He says, showing his hand at me. He had changed into workout shorts and sweatshirt.
"Your wolf needs to learn more control." I say, giving him a cold look.
"I know, I'm working on it. At least we know, you can calm down even in at my worst." He tries to joke, sitting down next to me.
"Yes, but I don't want to have to get all worked up every time your wolf decides he wants to get angry. It ruins my day." I say, looking at him.
"I know, I'm sorry. I'm gonna control him better." He says, grabbing my hand. "You used your Luna command for the first time."
"Yeah, I don't like it." I say. "The rogue told me something."
"Wait, really? Tell me." He says, getting excited.
"As I was leaving, he told me that I have my mother's eyes." I say, looking down.
"Now that confirms he's working with your mother. I knew it." He says, smiling at the thought of making process.
"He creeped me out so much, it was like I could see my mother in him." I say, a shiver running down my spine.
"The border patrol said that they found other rogue scents around the border." He says, wrapping an arm around me.
"This is all getting too real." I sigh, leaning my against his shoulder. How was I supposed to sleep after this all?
"I'm here to protect you, they'd have to kill me before I'd let anything happen to you." He says, placing a kiss on my head.
That's what I was scared of.....
