Divorce
Chapter 11
ââ¦â Frank felt a surge of annoyance. Over the past few years, aside from placing his relatives in the company, he had left other matters to the other shareholders. He had no clue about the companyâs recent operations,
Under Angelaâs calm gaze, Frankâs face reddened with embarrassment, and he unconsciously looked down in guilt.
âAre you unable to answer, or just unwilling to, Mr. Black?â
Whichever choice he made, Frank believed he would fall i
Il into the trap Angela had set. He became annoyed.
He said, âMs. Lewis, you know full well that Iâm not good at managing the company. Youâre asking me these questions to make things difficult for me, arenât you?â
Angelaâs expression was cold. She said, âSince you know youâre not good at managing the company, it seems you have no right to criticize my decisions, Mr. Black.â
Frank felt helpless.
Brenda came to Angelaâs office with documents for her to sign. As she reached the door, she saw Frank storming out of the office, not even greeting her before leaving
Entering the room, Brenda couldnât help but ask Angela, who was calmly reading documents, âWhat did you say to Frank? He looked upset when he left.â
Without looking up, Angela replied while reading the documents, âHeâs upset about me firing his relatives. What is this?â
Brenda handed the documents to Angela, saying, âThese are the contracts to be signed today. Iâll take them away after you check and sign them.â
Angela took the documents and spoke with a composed expression, âNotify the HR departmen find me two secretaries, one man and one
woman.â
âAlright, Iâll get the department on it right away.â
After checking and signing the documents, Angela looked up at Brenda and asked, âOne more thing, whatâs the companyâs current financial shortfall?â
Brenda hesitated for a few seconds, her expression turning grim. âAt least 10 million dollars.â
Angela frowned, âAlright, I got it. You can leave now.â
After Brenda left, Angela checked her available balance. It was just over 10 million dollars.
She called the financial manager to transfer the 10 million dollars to the companyâs account and said indifferently, âThis is a personal loan, i expect it to be repaid with the yearâend dividends.â
âUnderstood, Ms. Lewis.â
Aher the financial manager left, Angela continued reading documents.

Having vented his frustration in his office, Frank still couldnât swallow the insult. After much hesitation, he called Garret Taylor. âMr. Taylor, are you free for lunch?â
At noon, as soon as Garret entered the private room, Frank stood up and greeted him warmly. âMr. Taylor, please, have a seat.â
Garret sat down with a smiling face and then looked at Frank. âMr. Black, you must have something important to discuss since you invited me to lunch so far from the company.â
Frank smiled ingratiatingly and nodded. âYou know me well, Mr. Taylor. You must have heard about Ms. Lewis taking action against me this
morning,â
Garret sipped his coffee calmly and replied, âMr. Black, that was just Ms. Lewis strategizing for the companyâs future. Itâs normal to lay off a few people.â
Those laid off were Frankâs relatives who knew nothing and were just idling around, so Garret thought it was not a big deal.
Frank said with a strained smile, âYouâre right, Mr. Taylor. But do you think Ms. Lewis will only target my people?â
Garret tightened his grip on the coffee cup, remaining silent.
Frank continued, âMr. Taylor, Iâve always thought that you are the most capable among all the shareholders. Even though Ms. Lewis has the majority share, she is still young and somewhat impulsive. I would prefer you to manage the Empyria Group, Mr. Taylor.â
âWhat are you trying to say?â
âMr. Taylor, I heard that you have been trying to sign a deal with Mr. Wilson from the Nivalis Group recently, but you havenât succeeded yet. Since Ms. Lewis is so capable, she will definitely be able to seal the deal. What do you think, Mr. Taylor?â Frank said.

t was silent for a while before speaking. âI will think about it.â
In the evening, as Angela returned to her villa in the Northpoint after work, Kenneth stopped her the way.
Looking down at her with anger in his eyes, he said, âAngela, donât push me so hard. You are Sinclair families by staying at another manâs house every day!â,

Angela scoffed, âDo you have the right to say that? When you had a secret affair with Jennifer in our house, did you think about our familiesâ reputation?â
Kenneth was filled with impatience. âI told you, nothing happened between Jennie and melâ
âWhether it happened or not, it doesnât matter to me. Weâre getting divorced anyway.â
âIâve torn up the divorce papers. I will take it as your temporarily angry words. Come back with me, and I can pretend nothing happened.â
Angela frowned, âKenneth, why do you keep refusing a divorce? Have you fallen in love with me?â
At her words, Kennethâs expression turned cold, filled with mockery.
He said, âDo you think thatâs possible?â

then sign the divorce as soon as possible. While Iâm still young, Iâd rather get a divorce and meet someone else.â
Seeing Angelaâs eagerness, Kenneth looked furious, his brows furrowing unconsciously.
He said, âYou want to date another man?â
âSo what?â Angela replied indifferently. âStaying with you is no different from being a widow. I want to pursue my own happiness.â
Kenneth fell silent.
A surge of anger rose in his heart, uncontrollable.
Even though he was clear that he didnât love Angela, he was still easily agitated by her.
His face darkened, and he said through gritted teeth, âIf you want a divorce, you have to compensate me for the years with you.â
Angela was speechless.
Seeing her confused and incredible look, Kenneth coldly said, â10 million dollars. If you can pay that, Iâll agree to the divorce.â
Angela was silent for a few seconds, then looked at Kenneth seriously. âAre you sure if I give you 10 million dollars, youâll divorce me?â
ut you canât use the money I gave you.â
âYes, but you
Over the years, Angela had lived at Sinclair Villa, and Kenneth had given her an unlimited card when they got married, but she never used it.
She always made the gifts herself for his birthdays, so Kenneth thought Angela couldnât possibly come up with that much money.
After a few seconds of silence, Angela nodded. âOkay, dealâ
âYouâll only have one week. If you canât give me 10 million dollars within a week, donât bring up divorce again.â
Angela frowned, âKenneth, isnât your condition too strict?â
Kenneth scoffed, âYou are the one insisting on a divorce. Iâm giving you the chance now, but youâre unwilling to accept it. Angela, Iâm wondering if youâre just playing cat and mouse.â
Angela rolled her eyes and coldly said, âCut the crap. I agree. Can you leave now?â
Seeing the impatience in her eyes, Kenneth continued, âBefore weâre divorced, you still have to live with me.â
âKenneth, donât push it too far.â
