Angela frowned at him, somewhat agitated. âKenneth, can you stop bothering me! I admit it was wrong to marry you without your consent, helped heal your leg. For these three years, I believe Iâve done nothing wrong to you. Now, I want to live my own life. Is that too much to ask?â
Kennethâs eyes widened, and after several seconds, he grined his teeth and said, âIâve told you, divorce is off the uble!
Iâve found out that you werenât with lâatrick those days. Where did you go, and how did you get that 10 million dollars? If you donât want me to investigate further, then come back with me right now!â
Angela clenched her fat subconsciously, struggling to decide. Then, she shook off his hand and got into his car.
On the way back, the two of them remained silent
Angela was incredibly frustrated, wondering what was going through Kennethâs mind.
She had agreed to divorce him and assumed Kenneth would be quick to finalize the papers.
It would only make both of them unpleasant if they kept entangling like this.
Upon returning to Sinclair Villa, Angela headed straight upstairs. Just as she reached the staircase, Kennethâs voice c
came from behind.
âThe day after tomorrow is your grandfatherâs birthday, I bought a pair of precious artworks. How about we give him as a gift!â
Angela looked at him indifferently. âDo whatever you want. You donât need to discussion with me about these things
Kenneth frowned, âHeâs your grandfather, youâ¦â
âSo what?â
Angela sneered with a sense of irony, âHeâs just someone Iâm related to, thatâs all
No one in the Lewis family ever treated her like family. She didnât want to please them by depressing herself.
âAnyway, letâs attend his birthday party together.
âGot it,â Angela coldly uttered before heading straight upstairs.
Kenneth watched her back, his gaze dim, seemingly pondering something.
Back in her room, Angela was about to order takeout when she received a call from Brenda.
âAngie, I forgot to tell you something today. Kenneth wants to meet youâ
Angela was surprised and frowned, âIs it about the acquisition of Empyria Group?â
âYeah, the Sinclair Group has been planning to acquire Empyria Group for a month. Theyâve come to me a couple of times, but Iâve been holding it off. I guess they found out youâre back and want to talk to you personally.
âTo be fair, their offer was indeed attractive. If you hadnât come back, those old timers in the group might have sold off Empyria Group already and taken the money!â
Not hearing a response from Angel, Brenda continued. âIf you donât want to meet with Kenneth, I can cancel the appointment.â
Angela remained silent for a few seconds, then spoke softly. âNo need, send me the time and place. Iâve returned to Empyria Group and have to
meet him sooner or later.â
âAlright, then 11 O and set a time with the Sinclair Group.â
âOkayâ
After hanging up, Angela was about to continue browsing for takeout when a knock at the door interrupted her. Then, Kennethâs deep voice came through.
âThe maid made dinner. I have something to do tonight. You can go downstairs to eat laterâ
Angela didnât respond. After a while, she heard the sound of a car engine starting. She walked to the window just in time to see Kennethâs car taillights disappear from the street.
Five minutes later, Angela came downstairs.
She was surprised after nouring that the table was set with all her favorite dishes.

Chapter 17
Without overthinking, she finished her meal, washed the dishes, and returned to her room
After reading on the balcony for a while, Angela was about to sleep when she suddenly heard the sound of a car engine.
Looking doim, she saw Kenneth returning home.
He had called a driver to drive him back. His steps were unsteady as he got out of the car. He was obviously drunk. And the driver parked before leaving.
Watching Kenneth nearly stumble several times, Angela withdrew her gaze indifferently, closed her book, and went to bed.
However, much noise kept coming from the next room, disturbing Angelaâs sleep
Frowning, she got up, walked to the master bedroom door, and knocked impatiently, coldly saying, âCould you please keep it down? I canât sleep
with all this noise!â
The sounds inside stopped. As Angela turned to leave, the door suddenly opened.
She turned around, puzzled, and a large hand pulled her into the darkness before she could react.
âAh!â Angels couldnât help but cry out, and before she could react, Kenneth pinned her against the door. His hot breath brushed her ear, sending a shiver down her spine.
His breath was filled with the smell of alcohol. He was clearly drunk, pressing his heated body against hers.
Angela could feel the warmth from him clearly.
She pushed against him, but he wouldnât move, which made her increasingly annoyed
âKenneth, let me goëâ
No sooner had she spoken than her lips were sealed by his
His lips were hot as if intending to melt her, and his hands caressed her body.
If this continued, things would surely get wild.
Angela grabbed Kennethâs hand and swiftly turned on the bedroom light
The sudden brightness made Kenneth narrow his eyes, and Angelaâs angry face came into his view,
Although Angela and Jennifer looked strikingly similar, Kenneth never confused the two.
Jennifer was always weak, evoking a protective instinct in men when they saw her, while Angela was entirely different. She never showed any sign of weakness in public, nor did she seek any help from Kenneth as Jennifer did.
Like now, the defiance in her eyes made him feel helpless, unsure how to get her to open up to him.
Angelaâs face was stern, her eyes cold. âLet go of me! Iâll find someone else for your
Kennethâs tempers flared, gripping her hands tightly. He said through gritted teeth, âAngela! You are my
How could she suggest finding another woman for him! How could Angela say that as if she was heartless?
Hearing the undertone in Kennethâs voice, Angela pressed her lips and responded coldly, âNot for much longer!â
Kenneth sneered, staring at her face, his eyes filled with desire.
Ever since Angela put forward to divorce, he had been accommodating her every wish, giving in to her in every matter. Yet, he didnât expect that not only had she shown no signs of changing her mind, but she was even considering divorce at this very moment.
Kenneth leaned in and bit Angelaâs lip harshly, speaking coldly before she could utter a word. âIf you really want to divorce, I can let you go.â
Angela looked up at him abruptly, her eyes filled with disbelief,
âReally?
Kenneth struggled to suppress the anger within him and spoke coldly.
âBut you have to sleep with me tonightâ
As Kenneth uid this, Angelaâs face turned deathly pale.
