Chapter 20
Divorce
Chapter 20
Jennifer nodded, her face flushed. âOkay.â
She walked to the side of the car and said softly, âKenneth, everyone is waiting for you.
Please
Inside the car. Angela and Kenneth were standing off. Suddenly, Angela heard Jenniferâs deliberately softened voice and couldnât help but shiver, breaking out in goosebumps.
She looked at Kenneth with amusement, mockingly imitating Jenniferâs tone. âKenneth, your lover is waiting outside. Perhaps you could let go of
me now!â
Kenneth frowned tightly, and he said through gritted teeth, âSpeak properly. Angelaâ
Angela rolled her eyes. âItâs hard to speak properly when youâre gripping my hand like thisâ
After a few seconds of silence, Kenneth released her hand with an indifferent expression, coldly saying, âGet out of the car
Angela swiftly opened the car door and stepped out. Meanwhile, Jennifer was waiting outside, anticipatingly, her face blushing. But her expression turned extremely sour when she saw Angela.
âAngela, why is it yourâ She couldnât believe Angela had come with Kenneth. âThis bitch!â
Angela raised an eyebrow and smiled, âJennifer, you seem quite surprised to see me?
It wasnât just Jennifer. The entire Lewis family was shocked when they saw Angela, especially Karen, who looked at Angela as if she were an enemy. She thought Angela must have done this on purpose.
Since
Angela returned to the Lewis family, she has tried everything to outshine Jennie.
Kenneth got out of the car from the other side and walked up to Angela, casually taking her hand.
Angela frowned, trying to shake off his hand but failed.
She couldnât help but grit her teeth, whispering, âKenneth, are you out of your mind? Everyone is watching. Arenât you worried about any misunderstandings?â
âWhat misunderstanding? Weâre married. Itâs only normal we hold hands,â he replied.
Angela sneered but didnât say anything more.
To the onlookers, their intimate whispers were like fuel to the fire.
âWhatâs going on Wasnât Mr. Sinclair and Jennifer together? Why is he holding hands with Angelaââ
âJenniferâs been abroad for three years. I bet the affection had faded, no matter how deep it was Maybe Angela took her chance while Jennifer was
away.
Someone laughed. âJennifer is a joke. She was just bragging about Kennethâs coming to her grandfatherâs party at her invitation. I wonder how embarrassed she feels now!
âMe too! Iâve always b
s been annoyed by her arrogant attitude. Iâm so satisfied to see this!â
Listening to the surrounding chatter, Jennifer was so furious she wished she could slap Angela back then. Jennifer believed Angela must have intentionally arrived in Kennethâs car to embarrass her in front of everyone.
She looked at Kenneth, tears welling up her eyes. âKenneth, Angela, youâre out of line!â
With that, she turned and ran off, her eyes red with tears.
Angela watched her leave, her eyes narrowed, thinking that Jennifer was still bitchy as always
It seemed like she didnât say anything, but actually she did.
Jennifer subtly implied that she didnât know anything before, and Angela was the one meddling in her relationship with Kenneth. Angela was impressed, thinking that Jennifer was indeed an angelic bitch.
Indeed, the guests were now looking at Angela like she was the mistress,
But Angela didnât seem to care. She even looked at Kenneth and teased, âYour lover is upset. Arenât you going to comfort her?â

Kenneth frowned, responding coldly. âAngela, donât go too far
Angela just smiled and remained silent.
The Lewis family was aware of Angela and Kennethâs marriage, but Karen still seemed to think Angela had stolen Kenneth from Jennifer.
Karen glared at Angela and said sharply, âWhy fool around in the car in front of everyone? Donât you think itâs a bit inappropriate?â
Î
As for Karen. Angela had initially harbored some hopes upon returning to her family. However, due to Karenâs biased actions earlier, Angela took her as a stranger now.
âIt was Kenneth who wanted to stay in the car. You should talk to him about it, not me.â
Seeing Angelaâs indifferent expression and daring to talk back, Karen became even angrier, saying coldly, âAngela, what did you say? Do you show no respect for me anymore? Iâm your mother!â
Beside her, Robert frowned, his voice angry, âEnough! Both of you cut it out. Donât make a scene in front of the guests!â
Paul quickly nodded and gave Karen a sidelong glance. Then, he smiled at Kenneth, âMr. Sinclair, please come this way, inside!â
Kenneth remained indifferent and led Angela into the banquet hall
Angela felt agitated and didnât want to spend another second by Kennethâs side.
Mr. Sinclair, I assume you have more business to discuss. Can you let go of me now?
Kenneth caught a sense of impatience in her eyes as if Angela couldnât wait to escape from him. He narrowed his eyes.
âIf you donât want me to tell everyone that weâre married, then just stay by my side!â
Angela frowned, then, as if struck by a thought, chuckled softly, âFine, as long as youâre not worried about people calling Jennifer a homewrecker, trying to interfere in our marriage, go ahead and announce it!â
Before Kenneth could respond, Angela firmly shook off his hand and turned to leave.
Kennethâs face turned sullen as he watched Angela walk away, thinking that he had been spoiling her lately. Angela was even showing him attitude
Dow.
Angela found a quiet corner and was about to rest when a servant approached
Ms. Lewis, Mrs. Karen Lewis ask you to come over.â
Angela followed the servant to Karenâs room, but as she entered, a slap
p came flying towards her face.
Angela narrowed her eyes and stepped back, dodging the slap, looking at Karen coldly.
Failing to hit Angela and nearly stumbling herself, Karen became angrier. She pointed at Angela and scolded, âAngela, how can you be so malicious! You know your sister and Kenneth have feelings for each other, yet you embarrass her in front of the guests! Youâre such an animalâ
Angelaâs eyes were filled with irony. She and Kenneth were married, but in Karenâs view, it was as if Angela had stolen Kenneth from Jennifer.
Even Jennifer was her favorite child. This was just out of line!
Angela confronted Karen. âWhen Kenneth had that car accident three years ago and was paralyzed from the waist down, Jennifer deliberately stayed abroad, pretending to be unaware. When I offered to marry Kenneth, why didnât you object then!
âNow that Kennethâs recovered and Jennifer is back. I should just hand him over to her? Why should I?â
âYou owe Jennie! If it werenât for her, do you think you could have returned to our family? Angela, donât be ungratefulââ
Angela laughed scornfully and retorted, âWhat do I owe her? If I hadnât donated my bone marrow to her, would she still be alive now? It was you who begged me to come back to the Lewis family. Do you really think I was eager to return?â
Karen scoffed her eyes filled with disdain. âIf it wasnât because your bone marrow was matching
ng with Jenneâs, youâd still be a poor kid from
