Chapter 26
Divorce
Chapter 26
Kenneth glared at Angela, exuding a sense of chillness. She felt suffocated under his gaze as if being oppressed by a rock.
With Kennethâs approach, Angela even felt the temperature around her drop rapidly.
He was furious
In fact, Angela had never seen Kenneth this angry.
After stopping in front of Angela, Kenneth laughed scornfully. âYouâre going too far. Now you dare to come to the Courthouse and finalize the divorce all by yourself, huh?â
Angela knew that Donna must have done this behind Kennethâs back, and Kenneth somehow knew it. That was why he had shown up instead.
She hid the divorce agreement behind her and met his gaze without any guilt.
âMr. Sinclair, have you come to join me in finalizing the agreement?â
Noticing she hid the paper at her back, Kenneth sneered, âAngela, even if you nunage to get a divorce agreement signed by me, youâll never be able to end this marriage without my consent!â
Angelaâs grip tightened. âWhat on earth will it take for you to agree to a divorce! Do I really need to sleep with another man to make it happen?â
Kenneth was furious that he couldnât help but laugh, his words cold. âYou could try, as long as youâre not afraid of ruining that man!â
Angela pressed her lips, realizing she wouldnât be able to finalize the divorce today and not wanting to waste more time here. âIf thereâs nothing else. Iâll be leaving now.â
Noticing the Lamborghini behind Angela, Kenneth frowned, âWhose car is that?â
Angela hadnât worked in these years and had only just started a job. There was no way she could afford such a car.
Angela smiled, âThat seems to have nothing to do with you, Mr. Sinclair.â
Saying this, she ignored Kennethâs reaction and immediately drove off.
Kenneth watched as the Lamborghini gradually disappeared from sight, his eyes narrowed. âKevin, find out who owns that Lamborghini!â
Angela had just returned to the Empyria Group when Paul stopped her.
Noticing the car Angela was driving. Paul was a bit surprised. âAngela, did Kenneth buy you this car for commuting?â
He had already figured out that Angela was just an ordinary employee at Empyria Group, probably taking the job to pass the time.
Angela didnât bother to explain, frowning, âYou want to see me?â
She hadnât expected Paul to track her down at Empyria Group.
Paul smiled warmly, his voice sof, Tve been trying to call you these past few days but couldnât get through, so I had to come in person. Come home this weekend. Your grandpa and grandma miss you.â
Angela was silent for a few seconds before looking at Paul and saying, âGot it. If thereâs nothing else, Iâll head back to work.â
âAlright, then itâs settled. Iâll have a driver pick you up on Saturdayâ
After Paul left, Angela turned and walked into her office.
Before she knew it, it was time to get off work in the evening. Not wanting to face Kenneth at home, she decided to work overtime at the office.
Around 10 oâclock, just as she was preparing to leave, she suddenly received a call from Brenda.
âAngie, Iâm so sad. Can you co
come and be with me?â
Brenda was sobbing and Angela quickly responded, âWhere are you? Iâm on my way!â
After Brenda gave her the name of a club, Angela hung up.
Angela hurried to her car, driving with a mix of confusion and concern. Jut Brenda supposed to be celebrating her birthday with her boyfriend tonight!â she thought

Arriving at the private room in the club, Angela couldnât help but frown when she saw the scattered bottles everywhere.
Brenda was crying, sitting in the comer of the couch with a wine bottle in hand. Her makeup was a mess, with mascara smudged around her eyes and tears streaming down. She looked completely disheveled.
Angela walked over and sat beside her, gently taking the bonle away from her hands. âWhat happened? Whereâs your boyfriendâ
Angelaâs words seemed to hit a nerve in Brenda, who burst into crying harder, her words broken and choked. âThat jerk. Iâve just dumped him.â
Through Brendaâs story. Angela pieced together what had happened.
Her boyfriend had asked her for dinner today, and she thought he was planning to celebrate her birthday. Instead, he broke up with her
The reason was his high school crush had returned from abroad, and he decided to be with his crush again.
After listening. Angela gently patted Brendaâs back. âDonât be upset. Itâs better to see his true colors sooner rather than later. Youâll find someone much better.â
Brendaâs eyes were swollen from crying, but she still reached out to snatch the bottle from Angelaâs hand.
me the wine! I want to drinkâ¦
Angela s set the bottle aside. âNo more drinking. Youâre already drunk. Iâll take you home.â
âNo, Iâm not drunk yet! I want more!!

Angela didnât want to argue with a drunk and simply put Brendaâs arm onto her shoulder, carrying her away.
After dropping Brenda off at home, Angela was about to leave when she suddenly realized her phone was missing.
She remembered she was possibly leaving it in the private room at the club.
Returning to the club at past eleven, Angela went straight to the private room
Ax she pushed open the door, she saw a burly man playing with a silver phone in his hand.
Narrowing her eyes, Angela approached him.
âExcuse me, sir, that phone is mine. Could you give it to me?â
Angelaâs arrival caused everyone in the private room to stop and stare at her, their eyes filled with the anticipation of drama. It seemed Angela was u
Angela was unaware of who Jagger Moore really was. Otherwise, she wouldnât dare to be so bold.
Jagger was astonished when he saw Angelaâs face, thinking that Angela was far more beautiful than any woman he had met before.
He looked at Angela with desire in her eyes, teasing. âHot stuff, do you have any proof that this phone is yours!â
Angela patiently responded, âI can unlock this phoneâ
Jagger chuckled, nodding. âAlright, letâs assume the phone is yours. But since I found it, donât you think you should offer something in return to get it back?â
âWhat kind of return are you looking for!â
âItâs simple,â he said, âFinish these three glasses of drink, and Iâll return the phone.â
Angela glanced at the drinks on the table. âAre y

Jagger smiled and handed the phone to Angela
âThank you.â
Angela turned and left the room straight away. The people in the private room exchanged knowing looks. It seemed that Angela had become Jaggerâs target for tonight.

Watching Angelaâs retreating figure, Jagger smiled smugly. He turned to someone next to him and said, âGet a couple her directly to my room.â
Not long after leaving the room, Angela sensed something was wrong. She felt indescribable heat in her body and couldnât even keep her legs.
She leaned against the wall and planned to leave here as soon as possible when someo shouted behind her.
âThere she is! Grab her, quick!â
