Chapter 37
Divorce
Chapter 37
Angela looked indifferent. âI have nothing to discuss with youâ
âIf youâre still angry about last time, I can apologize. I was indeed wrong!
Angela looked at him in surprise, not expecting him to apologize.
She said. âIf itâs about that, I accept your apology. Can I leave now?â
Kennethâs gaze darkened, and he said in a low voice, âYouâre still angry!â
Angela felt somewhat speechless. âSince youâve apologized, whether Iâm angry or
y or not is not your business, okay?â {
After saying that, Angela backed her car, sped past Kenneth, and left
From that day on, Angela and Kenneth never met again. Sometimes, she saw Kenneth with Jennifer at events in entertainment magazines.
Angela would only glance briefly, then calmly look away, indifferent to it
Half a month later, Angela returned to the villa after work at past ten on a Friday night.
After she took a shower and got ready to read before bed, the doorbell suddenly rang
Seeing Kenneth through the peephole, she frowned.
She adjusted her nightgown, opened the door with an indifferent expression, and was about to speak when she smelled alcohol.
âAre you drunk?â she asked.
Kenneth was still fairly sober, but he seemed drunk already.
He asked, âAngela, do you remember what day it is today!â
Angela pondered for a moment before realizing it was their third wedding anniversary
She had been busy at work and had not paid much attention to this matter, so she had forgotten entirely.
Her lips pressed together in impatience. âIf youâre here just to talk nonsense, you can leave now. I need to rest.â
Kenneth pushed the door and pretended to be calm. âDo you know itâs our anniversary!â
Angela frowned. âSo what? You never cared before. Why pretend now?â
Kenneth didnât get angry
ry but chuckled softly
âI have a gift for you. What about you?â |
âI donât need your gift. Leave
Before she could finish, he suddenly pulled her into his arms.
The next second, Kenneth kissed her.
Angela realized it only when she felt the warmth on her lips and pushed Kenneth away.
âKenneth, are you out of your mind!â she exclaimed
As she wiped her lips, her action enraged Kenneth, who grabbed her wrist and pinned her against the wall.
He kissed her passionately, and Angela struggled, but Kenneth held her firmly.
Angry and frustrated, she bit Kenneth hard, filling their mouths with the taste of blood.
Kenneth let her go, looked down at her, and said in a low voice, âSince you didnât prepare a gift, consider this kiss as compensationâ
Angela was about to push him away when she felt something culd on her neck.
11.49 AM
Chapter 37
She touched it and found it was a necklace. She frowned, trying to remove it, but Kenneth stopped her first.
âIf you dare take it off, Iâll keep kissing you.
Angela stopped but looked at Kenneth coldly. âKenneth, are you drunk?â
She thought that must be why he acted so out of character tonight!
Kenneth gripped her chin, forcing her to meet his gaze.
He said. âEven if youâre really angry, donât you think itâs been long enough!â
Angela forcefully pushed him away, staring at him coldly, âKenneth, Iâm not throw a tantrum. I just simply donât want to be in the same room with
you
Kennethâs expression turned gloomy. He couldnât believe that Angela was still treating him coldly despite his efforts to please her.
He said, âAngela, you have to come back with me tonightâ
He had kept his distance from her for a while, hoping to give her enough time to cool down, but she had only grown colder towards him!
He felt he shouldnât treat her loo nicely!.
Angela scoffed, âWho do you think you are? Iâm not going back!â
Angela felt that since they had already had a falling out, there was no point in pretending everything was
He said, âYou donât have a choice!
fine.
Kenneth grabbed Angelaâs hand and started to walk out, but only after walking a few steps he felt a sudden sharp pain in the back of his neck and blacked out.
Angela called Kevin to pick up Kenneth. She removed her necklace, threw it on him, and closed the villaâs door without hesitation.
Half an hour later, the sound of a car engine came from outside the villa
Angela peeked through a corner of the curtain and saw Kevin get out of the car and quickly help Kenneth leave.
As soon as they returned to the villa, Kenneth woke up.
The soreness in his neck made him frown. He asked Kevin, who was standing beside him, âWhat happened it Why am I here!â
Kevin looked at Kenneth sympathetically and cautiously said, âMr. Sinclair, donât you remember? You went to see Ms. Lewis and she knocked you
out.
Kennethâs face darkened. Then, when he saw the necklace Kevin handed to him, his expression grew even more sour.
Kevin said, âMr. Sinclair, I found this next to you when I came to pick you up..
Filled with anger, Kenneth said coldly, âItâs yours now
Kevin knew Kenneth was just too angry to say that, so he didnât explain. He quietly pocketed the necklace, planning to return it once Kenneth calmed down
Kevin knew it was a wedding anniversary gift Kenneth had prepared for Angela, so he dared not keep it
Seeing Kevin silent, Kenneth glanced at him coldly. âYou can leave now!
âAlright, Mr. Sinclair, call me if you need anything
After Kevin left, the living room fell silent.
Kenneth pinched the bridge of his nose, feeling like he had been crazy to see Angela.
Thinking of the disgust in Angelaâs eyes and how she knocked him out, Kenneth felt a strange
Fringe rage
Then his phone suddenly rang.
Sering it was Owen, Kenneth looked surprised.
Kenneth asked, âWhatâs up?â

Owen cleared his throat and said, âKenneth, remember your fallout with Henry y over Debrat
Î
Kennethâs brow furrowed, and he asked, âWhat about it?â
âWell, after Upton and I learned about it and scolded Henry, he knows he was wrong. So, heâs inviting us to trying to mend things with you. What do you thinkâ¦â

Before Owen could finish his words, Kenneth interrupted coldly, âIâm busyâ
âJust hear me out! Henry plans to invite Angela too. If you donât go, she probably wonât either.â
Kennethâs expression turned grim when he thought of Angelaâs attitude tonight.
Kenneth said, âWhether she goes or not is Henryâs concern, not mine!â
Owen tried to say something else, but Kenneth had already hung up.
Seeing Owen put down his phone, Henry asked eagerly, âSo? Did Kenneth agree?â
âNo, heâs probably still angry about what happened
Henry looked disappointed, then suddenly stood up. âTil apologize to him in person!â
Owen quickly held him back. âWhatâs the rush? Thereâs still a chance. Kenneth listens to Mrs. Sinclair the most, and I heard Angela and Mrs. Sinclair get along well. Maybe we can get Mrs. Sinclair to persuade Kenneth.â
Debra, overhearing their conversation, felt indignant and angry. She couldnât stand the humiliation, and Henry was still trying to appease Kenneth and Angelat
She couldnât accept it!
She didnât want Angela to have the last laugh!
Picking up her phone, Debra texted Jennifer with a cold smirk.
