Chapter 16 I wish i could always eat my mom's cooking!

Rong Yuqiu search around the house, only clean pots and pans in the kitchen. She didn't see a faucet, but she did see what was said to be clean well water. Ji Qiuxue had already gone to negotiate with the program crew, who said, "According to the rules, today's meal is treated to you by the host, as long as you can find food."

Ji Qiuxue rubbed her forehead and glanced at Rong Yuqiu who got nothing. Was the host treating them to air? Is it popular to eat northwest wind now? Rong Yuqiu put her suitcase aside, planning to sleep in the living room at night, letting the mother and daughter sleep in the bedroom. Little Xuebao was sitting on the chair playing with her feet. After sitting for a while, she shouted, "Mom, mommy, I want to drink water."

Rong Yuqiu put down the things in her hands and began to rummage through her suitcase. She remembered that she brought two bottles of water when she came out. Rong Yuqiu took out a bottle of mineral water, squatted down and carefully fed Xiao Xuebao water. Xiao Xuebao drank several big gulps before moving her head away in satisfaction. She said to Rong Yuqiu obediently, "Thank you, Mom."

Rong Yuqiu smiled and touched her head, "You are so good." The thin and soft hair felt particularly good to the touch, and Xiao Xuebao was very obedient and let her touch her head. Ji Qiuxue, whose mouth was dry from talking, walked past the mother and daughter with a cold breath all over her body, and look at no one with slanted eyes. Rong Yuqiu looked at her angry look, turned her head and smiled secretly. She handed the water to Xiao Xuebao and asked her to give it to Ji Qiuxue to drink to calm her down.

Little Xuebao ran towards Ji Qiuxue holding the bottle of mineral water she had just drunk. She held the bottle of mineral water to her like a little angel and said, "Mommy, drink some water."

Ji Qiuxue saw her glowing daughter and was still worrying about what to do as she her daughter might starve. Ji Qiuxue reached out to take the water and wanted to glance at Rong Yuqiu, but when she looked over there, Rong Yuqiu had disappeared from the room. Rong Yuqiu walked out of the yard with two cameramen. She had just seen a vegetable field outside the yard. She walked over, pointed at the vegetable patch and asked, "Is this the owner's vegetable patch?"

The camera nodded up and down at her. Rong Yuqiu squatted down and dug the soil with her hands. In front of her, tall and green seedlings stretched out their bodies high. Rong Yuqiu dug several times with her hands and was satisfied when she saw the yellow potatoes underneath. She had seen the potato sprouts when she came here just now. She reached out and pulled out several plants, put them in a bamboo basket, and then gathered a handful of bakchoy from the ground, as well as a few eggplants nearby and a dozen green peppers.

Director Liu saw Rong Yuqiu picking the vegetables so skillfully and thought to himself that it's a bad idea. He didn't expect that there's someone who really knew how to grow vegetables in the countryside. Rong Yuqiu was pulling out a basket of vegetables. The directors on the other side saw it but couldn't stop her. They didn't expect Rong Yuqiu to find food so quickly. Compared with other families, she's really far ahead.

Ji Qiuxue tidied the room, and little Xuebao ran around the room curiously, "Mommy, are we sleeping with mom tonight?"

Ji Qiuxue looked at little Xuebao with expectation in her bright eyes, and didn't know how to answer her for a moment. If she denied Rong Yuqiu's identity, she might not have to record today's show. "Where did you get these?" Ji Qiuxue looked at the various vegetable in the basket and looked at Rong Yuqiu curiously.

Rong Yuqiu raised her chin proudly and smiled, "Outside the yard is the landlord's vegetable garden." She held the basket and placed it in front of Ji Qiuxue, "Don't worry, there will be enough vegetables." Ji Qiuxue was a little dazed looking at Rong Yuqiu who's smiling brightly. It seemed that Rong Yuqiu now wasn't much different from Rong Yuqiu five years ago.

Little Xuebao hugged Rong Yuqiu's legs, tilted her little head up to look at her in admiration, and laughed in a baby voice, "Mom, you are so awesome!"

Rong Yuqiu was amused by her cute compliments. If her hands weren't covered in mud, she would have wanted to touch little Xuebao's chubby little face. Ji Qiuxue watched the interaction between the adult and the child, and looked at Rong Yuqiu hesitantly, "Can you cook?"

The old  Ah Qiu used to know how to cook, but now she may not be able to do that anymore. "Then you wash the vegetables and I'll light the fire and cook." Rong Yuqiu moved aside to let Ji Qiuxue come over. When they passed each other, Rong Yuqiu smelled a scent that made her fell in trance. She subconsciously held her breath and looked at Ji Qiuxue. As soon as Ji Qiuxue turned around, she saw her staring at her in a daze and asked her puzzledly, "What's wrong?"

Rong Yuqiu suppressed the surging emotions in her heart, shook her head calmly, "Nothing, I'll cook first." Rong Yuqiu turned around and washed the pot. She did all this very skillfully. Ji Qiuxue put her hands in the water and washed the potatoes carefully. She resisted the urge to look back. Now that there are cameras, if she turns back, she can't explain it clearly.

Half an hour later, Rong Yuqiu had cooked two dishes and a soup. She placed the potatoes on the table. In order to cater to Xiao Xuebao's taste, she did not add any seasoning to the potatoes. Just as the family of three put down their bowls, there's a knock on the gate. Bai Duo stuck her head out and asked in front of more than a dozen staff members, "Is there anyone inside?"

"It looks like Bai Duo." Ji Qiuxue put down her chopsticks and walked out. Rong Yuqiu stayed in the house taking care of Xiao Xuebao while she ate. When Bai Duo saw Ji Qiuxue coming out, her eyes lit up and she clasped her hands together, looking at her pitifully, "Teacher Ji, help me, I don't even have a stove where I live. Please give me something to eat so I can go back to feed my wife and daughter."

Her funny and pitiful plea made Ji Qiuxue smile, "Okay, wait here, I'll go in and give you some rice and dishes." In the room, little Xuebao is using her own children's tableware and eating with a clatter, praising as she ate, "Mom, you cook so deliciously, I've never eaten such delicious potatoes." The little girl spoke in a baby voice and talked so much that Ji Qiuxue suspected that she had abused her in the past and didn't like to talk to anyone at home.

Rong Yuqiu couldn't stop smiling after hearing that. She blushed and said modestly, "Really? If it tastes good, eat more."

"Then it would be great if I could eat mom's cooking every day in the future." Little Xuebao looked at Rong Yuqiu with her dark and bright eyes sparkling. She still remembered what her mommy said, that her mom wasn't her mother. Little Xuebao wants her mom to be her mother, so she has been working hard to make her mom like her more.

Rong Yuqiu looked at Xiao Xuebao who's looking up at her expectantly, and her heart melted. Rong Yuqiu took a wet towel and wiped the corner of Xiao Xuebao's mouth bit by bit, "Then I will continue to cook tonigh?"

Xiao Xuebao nodded vigorously and felt very happy. She did not notice Rong Yuqiu's avoidance of the question, but was happy that she could eat the meal cooked by her mother in the evening. Ji Qiuxue stood at the door holding a food bowl and watched the whole process. She controlled her breathing and expression and walked in as usual.

"There's a stove everywhere, so why does Bai duo come to borrow some rice from us?" Ji Qiuxue took a basin and served half a pot of rice to Baiduo's family, and then took a basin from the landlord's house and shared half of the dishes. She lowered her head and packed the food carefully without asking the chef Rong Yuqiu whether she agreed.

Rong Yuqiu even stood up to help add more food and even gave the child a separate serving of potatoes without seasoning. When Ji Qiuxue carried the basin out, Rong Yuqiu also helped carry a basin of vegetables away. The two walked one after the other, and the cameraman captured this scene.

Director Liu stood outside the play and looked at the two thoughtfully. she always felt that the atmosphere between Teacher Ji and the intern mother was a bit weird. They seemed to know each other, but they were very polite to each other. Although they didn't know each other, the atmosphere between the two of them was very harmonious, and there's even an inexplicable sense of tacit understanding. And there's that adorable Little Xuebao, who stays in the intern mom's arms and refuses to leave as soon as she sees her. Could it be that Teacher Ji has some kind of connection with this intern mom?
