Chapter 26 - Crossfire

Accidentally His

Joshua's POV

As soon as my father and Mark went towards Robert and the Detective, I squeezed Celeste's hand, giving her a wide smile. She grinned happily, squeezing my hand back.

When my father finished talking and turned towards me, I immediately released her hand and went towards my father.

After completing the necessary paperwork here, we left the police station. As soon as I walked out of the building, I took a deep breath, closing my eyes, feeling relieved and happy. Finally, I was free and the burden on my shoulders was lifted. Now I could continue living my normal life.

***

I turned off the TV in my office and leaned back against my seat, feeling satisfied. Finally, everyone in our country knew my innocence. I got my CEO position back as well.

Suddenly, someone knocked on my door, interrupting my thoughts. I cleared my throat and told them to walk in.

The door opened and the most beautiful creature walked in, giving me a dazzling smile, and closed the door behind her. I grinned sheepishly as I stood up and approached my wife.

It had been a few days things my professional and love life got back. Celeste and I met secretly and shared not only joyful time, but also steamy time which blew my mind.

The only thing I needed to handle was ending my relationship with Rebecca. She had been out of town for a few weeks. And of course, she prolonged her business trip, saying they couldn't finish the campaign photoshoot as planned. However, I knew her very well; she didn't deliberately returned New York because of the accusations on my behalf. She didn't want to be named with a possible prisoner.

"I missed you," I whispered in Celeste's ear seductively and planted a soft kiss on her neck, breathing in her scent as I wrapped my arms around her  delicate waist.

"You saw me an hour ago at the meeting," she reminded playfully, resting her hands on my chest.

"It is too long for me. I need to see you every minute," I paused, placing a kiss on her neck, and continued, " every second."

"Joshua," she smiled warmly.

"How about a movie night at my place?" I suggested eagerly.  Of course, I wasn't excited about watching a movie, but I was excited what would happen afterward. It had been a day since the last time I had her in my arms in my bed.

"With pleasure." She nodded, placing a chaste kiss on my lips.

"Let finish the meeting and go home," I said as I grabbed my phone and car keys. Then I opened the door for her, giving her a bright smile. "Ladies first."

"Thank you, Mr. Sullivan," she said playfully and walked out.

"All pleasure is mine, Mrs. Sullivan," I whispered in her ear and flashed a cocky smirk. She grinned as we walked towards the elevator.

***

After the business meeting, Celeste and I went to my penthouse.

I frowned, puzzled as soon as we walked in and heard music playing in the living room.

"Who is here? Your family?" Celeste asked, panicked.

"No, they don't come here without asking me if I am home," I replied while the panic filled my system.

There is only one person who could be here is... Becca.

Damn it!

"Then your housekeeper hasn't left yet," Celeste commented, walking towards the living room.

"Celeste... no..." I rushed after her, trying to stop.

Celeste suddenly stopped without turning back, frozen.

"Cel..." I couldn't finish my sentence as I saw Becca gracefully sitting on the arm of the armchair in her mini lace nightie, holding a glass of champagne in her hand.

"Surprise!" she exclaimed cheerfully as she straightened. Then she plached the flute on the table and walked towards me like a professional seductress as she was.

I looked at Celeste anxiously. She looked at Becca with a poker face, but it was worse than seeing her mad. It meant I was in deep shit.

Becca wrapped her arms around me and kissed me passionately while I stood there, frozen. Only thing I could thought was how I would soften up Celeste.

As soon as I pulled myself together, I moved away, grabbing Becca's arms. She gave an unsatisfied look and turned towards Celeste.

"Who are you?" Rebecca asked icily.

Celeste's jaw clenched and she moved her gaze from Becca to me, making me turning to ice in the spot.

Oops!

I am really in deep shit.

"I will leave you alone, Mr. Sullivan," Celeste stated dryly, ignoring Becca, and walked towards the exit.

"No Cel..." She left without listening to me.

Damn it!

Damn it!

Damn it!

I gritted my teeth angrily and faced Becca who looked, self-satisfied. "What are you doing here?" I asked, annoyed.

"I wanted to surprise you. I missed you," she replied seductively as she wrapped her arms around my neck, pressing her against me.

I pushed her back and stated firmly, "I am busy. I have to leave after changing my clothes."

"I will help you to take off your clothes and relax you. You look tense," she suggested in a salacious tone.

"Becca, I don't have time. I am in a hurry," I declined dryly.

"What is going on with you?! Didn't you miss me?" she asked, annoyed.

"Why don't you want me to touch you? Don't you find me attractive anymore?" she asked, pretending to be sad.

"It isn't about it. We talked about taking things slow," I lied, rubbing the back of my neck. I had to get rid of Becca without drama. If she found about Celeste and I, she would do everything to give us trouble.

She chuckled mockingly.  "Joshua, don't take me for a fool. I know you very well. Taking things slow isn't your style," Becca stated in annoyance. "Do you have someone else in your life?" she asked suspiciously, folding her arms over her chest.

"No... Don't talk nonsense!"

"But..."

"Becca, I am really in a hurry. I'll call you later," I stated firmly.

"Fine, I'll leave as you wish," she said angrily and went to my bedroom.

I heaved a loud sigh and leaned against sofa.

If Becca didn't come, I would enjoy Celeste in my arms. But now... I had to deal with Becca.

Moreover, Celeste is also angry at me right now.

A few minutes later, Becca came back fully dressed and stormed out, giving me a dirty look.

As soon as I was sure Rebecca left, I heaved a loud sigh, pulling out my phone, and called Celeste. After a few rings, she declined the call.

Fuck!

I tried to call her one more time, but she declined the call again. I heaved a loud sigh and went to take a shower.

***

The following morning, I went to see Celeste. I had to explain everything to her. I didn't want her to think that I played with her.

When I was about to reach her apartment, I saw her talking to some man in front of the building. She was smiling from ear-to-ear, looking at the man. Meanwhile, that idiot was telling her something cheerfully.

Damn it!

Who is this idiot?!

And she looks fucking sexy in her mini dress.

Moreover, I don't have any doubt that she wore her seductive love potion too.

I clenched my hands around the steering wheel and drove towards them at full speed. Both of them jolted in fear, as I suddenly stopped the car in front of them. I got out of the car, slamming the door behind me, and approached my wife and the ginger idiot beside her.

"Who is he?" I asked Celeste angrily, ignoring the man beside her.

She shot daggers at me and replied dryly. "It is none of your business!"

"Celeste!" I warned her, boiling with anger, grabbing her arm.

"Hey, calm down, man," the ginger idiot intervened.

I gave him a death glare and demanded, "Don't intervene!"

"I won't let you treat a woman like this," he stated in confidence.

"How will you stop me?" I asked cockily, facing the idiot, still holding Celeste's arm.

"Joshua! Stop it!" Celeste demanded angrily and stepped in between us. I ignored her, still looking the idiot in the eyes, clenching my teeth. "Joshua!" Celeste exclaimed, annoyed and pushed me back.

"Celeste, don't worry, I'm here. He can't do anything to you," the ginger idiot told Celeste softly.

I burst out laughing, shaking my head while trying to hold myself from punching this idiot in front of everyone. The man shot daggers at me.

"Celeste, come with me. We have to talk," I told my wife, ignoring the ginger idiot. Then I turned my gaze from Celeste to him and added, "alone."
