Chapter 6 - Mysterious Girl

Accidentally His

Joshua's POV

"Rosa... You are driving me crazy..." I mumbled, placing kisses on her neck while she was caressing my back.

Suddenly, my phone rang, waking me up. I opened my eyes and looked around in daze. I was in my room, and the sun was shining through the window, lightening the room. So it was a dream.

I ran my hand through my hair, sighing, and grabbed my phone. It was my mother, Mila. I picked up my phone and greeted her warmly.

I was going to visit my family yesterday, but I wasn't in the mood after talking to the private detective despite the fact he was the best in his field.

After talking to my mother on the phone for a while, she invited me for dinner in the mansion. Firstly, I refused because I had to talk to Rebecca before everything got worse between us, but my mother insisted, saying she missed me. So I accepted to join my family this evening. I planned to leave the company early and went to see Becca before going to the mansion.

Once I hung up the phone, I stood up and went to take a shower. Then I put on a black suit, a white shirt and black tie, and left my penthouse. I had a meeting in an hour in the company. So I had to arrive early and talk to the lawyer about my marriage.

"Good morning, sir," my assistant, Kate, greeted me politely, standing up.

"Good morning, Kate. Tell Robert that I am waiting for him in my office," I said firmly and walked towards my office.

I heaved a sigh, resting my hand in my pocket, and approached the window wall, lost in my thoughts. I hoped the private detective would find her quickly.

A few minutes later, someone knocked on the door, interrupting my thoughts.

"Come in," I said, turning towards the door, resting my hand in my pocket.

"Good morning, Mr. Sullivan," Robert greeted me politely as he walked into my office and closed the door behind him.

"Good morning, Robert. Sit down, please." I gestured to the seat next to my desk and breathed deeply, trying to hide my nervousness. He nodded and walked towards the seat to sit down.

"I want to ask you about something. I...," I paused, rubbing the back of my neck uneasily. "When I was on a vacation in Vegas, I got married someone." His eyes widened in shock as soon as I confessed. "Now I have to get rid of this marriage as soon as possible. Before anyone hears about it," I stated firmly.

"Did you sign a prenup?" he asked after thinking for a few seconds.

"No. It was a sudden decision. Umm...Vegas style," I replied uncomfortably, rubbing my forehead in embarrassment. Probably, he thought I was an idiot.

Robert sighed and rubbed his beard, thinking. "Did you get consummate? If not, we can apply for marriage annulment."

I rubbed the back of my neck while the scenes from that night flashed in my mind. I heaved a loud sigh and mumbled. "Another option?"

"If a spouse was under the influence of alcohol, you can annul the marriage as well. But you must provide strong evidence," he commented firmly. "Were you too drunk?"

"Well... not that much I think...I don't know... Besides, I don't think I can prove it."

"It will be better if you file for divorce then," Robert advised. "Hope she won't ask anything to get divorce. If she knows who you are, it is possible she will want a quite amount of money or more."

I gulped nervously, running my hand through my hair. "Is the company in danger?"

"Well... She can claim against the business assets, cash and income streams, or even force its sale," he replied, giving me a sympathetic look.

"Damn it!" I exclaimed in frustration and rested my hands on my hips. I ran my hand through my hair anxiously and asked Robert hopefully, "Is there anything we can do about it?"

"We can only hope she won't ask anything." He gave me a sorry look.

I heaved a loud sigh, closing my eyes.

What am I going to do now? I won't forgive myself if my stupidity causes damages to our family company.

"And it will be better if you keep a low profile. If she finds out about your relationship with Miss Rebecca Jonas, she maybe uses it against you in the court to get more money," Robert resumed worriedly.

I sighed, nodding, and rested my hand in my pocket. "Thank you, Robert. I will inform you as soon as I find her." He gave me a questioning look. I ignored it and added in an authoritative tone. "And I hope I don't need to say it is between us."

"Don't worry, sir."

"Good! Now you may leave." He nodded and left my office, leaving me alone.

As soon as my last meeting for today ended, I left the company and went to see Rebecca. On the way, I bought a bouquet of red roses and her favorite perfume for her.

Once I arrived at the hotel where she had been staying, I got out of the car and went directly to her suite. The owner was one of my friends; so finding her room number was easy.

As I reached her door, I took a deep breath and knocked on the door.

"What are you doing here?" she asked dryly as soon as she opened the door.

"I missed you," I replied in a flirtatious tone and extended the flowers and gift bag towards her.

She took the bouquet and the gift box and gave me a mocking look. "I don't think so," she commented sarcastically. "Now leave. I don't want to see your face, Joshua," she demanded angrily.

"Come on, Becca. Don't make us suffer more. I love you." I gave her a bright smile.

She burst out laughing. "Because of it, you have fun with that girl in Vegas," she said bitterly, giving me a dirty look.

"Let me explain, Becca. She..."

"I don't want to hear anything," she snapped furiously, cutting me off, and tried to close the door, but I leaned my hand against the door stopping it.

"Becca, please. She... she is just a friend. I haven't seen her for a long time. We bumped to each other there. Moreover, we were in a friend group, not alone," I lied.

"Why were just you two in the photo then? Normal friends don't pose like that," she commented dryly, giving me an unconvinced look.

"There is no particular reason, Becca. We just took a photo together," I replied nonchalantly.

"Bye, Joshua," she said coldly and slammed the door in my face.

"Damn it!" I cursed under my breath and ran my hand through my hair angrily. I shook my head, sighing, and went to the mansion.

I parked my black Aston Martin in front of my parent's house and got out of the car. Sometimes I stayed here as well. Tonight I was going to spend the night here.

Once I knocked on the door, the maid opened the door and greeted me politely.

As soon as I walked into the living room, my younger sister, Hazel, greeted me cheerfully, hugging me.

"Finally, you broke up with that bitch. I am sure your new girlfriend is better than her," Hazel commented happily as she pulled back.

"What are you talking about? Which new girlfriend are you talking about?" I frowned, annoyed. Despite the fact I told her Becca wasn't that bad she thought, my sister didn't change her mind about her.

"That girl who was busy eating your neck while you were smiling like a Cheshire cat. I saw your post on your Instagram account," she replied, giving me a teasing smile, and winked at me playfully. "Why did you delete the post? I liked the photo; it was beautiful."

I breathed deeply as I understood Hazel saw the photo as well. Did my parents know about it too? I was sure Hazel didn't waste a minute to give them her happy news. She looked ecstatic because of my so-called new girlfriend.

"We are just friends," I lied, rubbing the back of my neck.

"Really?! I didn't know you have a friend who could make you happy that much. I never saw you so happy like that with Rebecca," she commented, emphasizing the word 'friend', and gave me a knowing look.

"Think what you want," I said in annoyance.

"Joshua!" my mother exclaimed happily as she walked into the living room.

"Mom." I gave her a warm smile and hugged her. I kissed her cheek before pulling back.

"Mom, Joshua doesn't admit that he has a new girlfriend," Hazel said mischievously and gave me a devilish smirk.

"Hazel! I told you we are just friends," I reminded angrily.

"You say we're just friends. But friends don't know the way you taste, la-la-la," Hazel sang, giving me a mischievous look.

"Hazel!" I exclaimed in irritation.
