Chapter 4
Billionaire Baby Daddy
Chapter 4Â ð¼ 6 Weeks ð¼
I'm royally screwed.
There is a human being growing inside of me.
Holy shit.
This is in no way possible going to end well.
"Maggie, guess what?" I say walking out of the bathroom.
"I was right all along and you were worrying yourself for nothing." She says optimistically.
"Actually no. You were wrong and my life is practically over."
"Well, what are you gonna do with it?" Maggie asks me.
"I don't know." I moan slumping against her, "I already know that I can't kill it."
"Then give it up or keep it, those are the only other options you have." Maggie states logically.
"I have to talk to the father first. If I can find him."
"You know what he looks like, his name?" I merely nod.
"Well I know his first name, Luke and he's got brown hair with some beautiful grey looking eyes."
"I don't know what to say."
"Don't say anything actually, I'm going home to New York to find my babies daddy." I say marching to the front doors.
"WAIT! Did you just say New York? Like "The Big Apple" New York."
"Yeah, what about it."
"Okay, I know it's a long shot but just hear me out."
As soon as Maggie stops talking, I look at her like she's crazy, "Really Maggie, You think, one of the biggest billionaire's in New York is my baby daddy, I know your optimistic and all but really."
"Here, just look at the picture." Handing over her phone, I look at the picture and almost go into cardiac arrest. Looking at the picture it's like I'm back at The Inferno all those weeks ago.
And that's when reality hit me like a truck made of bricks.
A multi-freaking-billionaire is my babies father.
"You alright?" Maggie's voice snaps me out of the daze I was in.
"Holy sh!t Maggie, you were right."
"Oh, my God." She utters, "Luke Harris, is your babies father. Your baby is the heir to a multi-billion dollar company. God, your kid isn't even born and it has more money than me."
"Great, now if I tell him I'm pregnant, I'm going to look like some gold-digger who made up a lie to get some money out of him. He's probably going to deny the child, my babies going to grow up without a father and I'm going to have to work, like, three different jobs to support us and then I'm gonna have to become a stripper to get money now 'cause I can barely support myself, but when I start to show then what? Nobody wants a pregnant stripper!" I cry on Maggie's shoulder.
"I don't wanna be a pregnant stripper."
"Don't worry, you won't. Just tell your parents about the baby and ask for some support."
"Oh God no! My parents, well my mum really, is a hard core Catholic like Amanda Bynes mum in that movie Hairspray. If I tell her I'm pregnant she expects that I would already be married."
"What about you dad?"
"If I tell him he'll end up telling mum, no doubt about it, divorced or not."
"Oh. That really sucks then."
"I know, but I have to get back to my mother's house, or she'll call the police thinking I've been kidnapped or something."
"Here's my number, call me if you need anything doll."
"I will, thanks for everything Mags." Walking out of the empty pharmacy I walk to the car and drive home.
Walking into the house with the groceries, my mom is standing there waiting for me, "You're late."
The first thing that comes to mind is my pregnancy, "How did you know?"
"How wouldn't I know? You've been gone for an hour now and I had to post pone my cooking, so now I'm going to have to stay up later to finish!"
"Oh right, late as in timing. Sorry momma I just lost track of time while shopping." I say relieved that she doesn't know about the baby.
"I'm sure, now go put those in the kitchen and help me start cooking."
For the rest of the afternoon and some of the evening, I cooked with my mom for some pot-luck she's having with the ladies of the church/book club. Later on I told her I had to leave earlier than supposed because of work back at home, when in reality I just wanted to find Luke and talk about what to do about the baby.
Unlocking the door to my apartment, I went straight to my laptop and searched up Luke Harris on Google.
"Luke Harris one of the youngest billionaires to face the planet!"
"Luke Harris: 26 under 26 of the most powerful, rich and influential men."
"Luke Harris - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia."
"Luke Harris Official Website."
"Luke (LukeHarris) \ Twitter."
"Luke Haris (LukeHarris) ð¹ Instagram photos and videos."
And about twenty other things pop up.
"He's a lot more popular than I thought he was."
Going with the easiest choice I click on the Wiki page and look for the section about his job. After finding it and reading through I found out he is the CEO of "Harris Industries & Co." While also owning a chain of clubs, one of them being The Inferno.
To think that he left the opening of his own bar, with me especially, and accidentally knock me up must be some sort of bad karma he's got.
Did I just call myself bad karma?
Making a plan to visit his work on Monday, aka tomorrow, I go to bed enjoying a peaceful slumber.
At about five in the morning I was throwing up the dinner I had in the bathroom toilet. Flushing the toilet I get up off the floor and go to the sink to wash my hands and brush my teeth.
Walking out I look at the clock on my nightstand, "I was in there for half an hour, baby I love you and all but please calm down with all the vomiting, I don't think I can take anymore." I spoke to the baby with a hand on my stomach.
Eventually I was able to fall back asleep only to wake up five hours later at ten o'clock. Getting out of bed I walk to my closet and put on some dark blue jeans that thankfully had a stretchy waistband and a loose cream coloured blouse with a cardigan.
Walking to the bathroom I brush my teeth, put on light makeup and just brush down my hair, leaving it naturel. Grabbing my purse, phone and my car keys, I make way to the parking lot that holds my now other baby, a beautiful silver 2014 Honda Civic.
Reaching Harris Industries & Co. I park the car on the curb and get out locking the door. Staring at the looming building I walk inside to the front desk asking which way to his office. After figuring out it's the top level, which actually should've been obvious to me seeing as he's the boss, I go to the elevator and press the top level button.
As the elevators ding open I walk to the secretary on this level, waiting until she's off the phone I ask where Lucas' office is.
"Do you have an appointment?" He asks sceptically.
"Yes I do." That's right, I'm not some hoe trying to get with you boss, not that I haven't already but that's just some minor details.
"One moment please, what's your name?"
"Jessica Williams."
Finishing up with the phone call he directs me to Lucas' office, "Here we are."
Opening the door the first thing I see is Lucas sitting in a chair focused on whatever is written on the pages in front of him, he looks up hearing the door open and a look of recognition passes across his face, "Jessica?"
"Hey." I respond closing the door walking to sit in one of the chairs by his desk.
He remembers me at least, it's a good start.
"I didn't think that I would see you again, since you kind of just left me after the best night of my life, but whatever right."
"I'm really sorry about that, I just didn't know what to do, I've never really been in that sort of situation before."
"Well is there any reason you came by or..."
"Yes actually," I start to fidget with the hem of my cardigan, "um, so, I'm pregnant, and it's yours."
"Hmm. I'm sorry, what?"
"I'm pregnant and it's yours."
"You expect me to believe you?"
"Yes, look I know it's weird and all but I wouldn't lie about this, look I have proof." I state pulling out the pregnancy test in a plastic bag and standing to show my slightly rounded tummy.
"I would still like a paternity test."
"Sure."
"Okay lets go." He grabs my arm bringing me out of his office towards the elevators, "Hold my calls." He yells to his secretary.
In the car park he hops into his car and drives to the hospital. Waiting in the maternity ward with Lucas makes me feel awkward because all the other women are with some sort of significant other and I'm sitting here with my one night stand, thankfully we don't wait long because Lucas 'knows a guy'.
Getting the results back from the doctor was probably one of the best moments of my life to prove Lucas actually is the father and I'm not a money hungry whore.
Sitting in the car in complete silence is horrible, especially since Lucas is just sitting there still as a statue.
"Lucas are you alright?"
"Yeah, I guess so."
"Are you sure?"
He just nods in response.
"I just need to ask you one thing."
"What is it?"
I take a deep breath before asking this crucial question, "Marry me."
I'm back, I haven't died. I'm so, so, so, so, soooooooooo sorry for not updating, it's just school is back and there is so much work and I have cheer and we have a competition coming up and I just haven't had a spare moment to completely finish this but I finally have now and I hope you all enjoy it.
And yes, she asked him to marry her, look at me throwing gender rules to the wind, can anyone say plot twist. I have so much planned for this book you guys have no idea.
I just wanted to say thank you very much for all the reads and likes and you guys adding this story into your reading lists, it really means a lot to me so thanks again, I will definitely try to get the next chapter up faster than this one.
Keep doing what your doing. Goodbye, Goodnight, morning, afternoon, evening, whatever and enjoy.
