Mita came out of bathroom.Jay immediately came forward, held her hand and made her sit on sofa, “What happened my dear? Are you Ok?”“Nothing Kanna, just not feeling well,” Mita sat on Sofa.“She had so much vomiting today,” Prachi gave her a glass of water.“Your wish coming true so fast??” Nitin.“What wish??” Jay looked at Nitin.“About kids. Didn’t I tell her at the cruise, now you guys are getting married, so your next wish could be having babies…looks like she took it so seriously??” Nitin.“Really??” Prachi started laughing.Jay was totally confused.“I am just saying..kahi ye good news wali vomiting to nahi hai??” Nitin“Guys, please!!! Please calm down. I have motion sickness. While having dinner at Cruise I was feeling dizzy. I think because of that only ..No good news and all ok??” Mita.“Ohhhhh..that’s a bad news,” Prachi & Nitin.“Motion sickness? Then why didn’t you tell me before? I wouldn’t have got the tickets,” Jay.“Oho Kanna, you didn’t ask me before and I didn’t know either. I have never been to cruise before. How would I know that? Whenever I travel by Bus or flight, I take medicine for this,” Mita.“Oh right, before boarding the flight you had that medicine. Now I remember,” Prachi.“Ohh, I am so sorry Mita. I did not know this before. Sorry, you are not well because of me,” Jay was feeling guilty.“That’s ok Kanna. We had such a lovely time there. I really loved it. Once I take medicine and some rest, I will be fine,” Mita.“Hahahahahaha,” Nitin started laughing.“Now what happened to you??” Prachi to Nitin.“Sahi me. You guys are made for each other. Mita prepared a soliddd cake for Jay on his birthday, which he couldn’t cut and eat. And now, Jay booked a dinner at cruise, but Mita had vomiting after going there…..hahahha…so funny…” Nitin. Next couple of weeks were crucial for the project. After getting charged on weekends, everyone was all set to give their best at work. They hardly used to get time to talk with each other. To avoid wastage of time, they used to have a quick lunch at desk itself.One day afternoon, Mita called Jay on his extension to discuss one issue regarding their project. It was ringing for long time. Thinking that he might not be at his desk, Mita called on his mobile. Jay didn’t pick that either.“He must be in a meeting,” Mita thought he would call her back and she continued checking on some other issue. Whole day went off just like that. Before wrapping up for the day. Mita started reviewing her checklist and realized that one issue was still not fixed for which she needed Jay’s input. She called him again. This time he picked up his phone but before she could say anything he said,“Mita, I am in middle of some urgent work, will talk later,” and he disconnected her call.“But Jay…” Mita could not speak further.While going back home on the way, Mita tried asking Jay about the same issue.“Ohh yeah, sorry Mita, I was busy so could not talk to you,” Jay.“But I was waiting for you whole day, because of that, I could not mark that task as Complete,” Mita was sad.“That’s ok, we will discuss, don’t worry,” Jay.After having dinner, as usual Jay started watching a movie. Mita came and sat next to him,“Actually, I had called you because you know that issue….” Mita.“Mitaaa my dear, take some break, we are talking about work all the time, let’s take some break..you know my brain is not working now, come lets watch this movie, you will love it,” Jay.“No Kanna, I cannot leave it, let’s close that first and then you watch your movie,” Mita.“Darling, seriously, even if we discuss now, I won’t be able to give my inputs, I need a break, let’s talk about it tomorrow morning,” Jay.Mita could not say anything. Next morning, while going to office, Jay discussed about what Mita wanted but then they could not come to any conclusion.When they reached home, in morning status meeting, Mr. John asked Mita about the task which was not completed yet.“I will finish that in next couple of hours Mr. John,” Mita looked at Jay and answered Mr. John.“Oh, that is not yet finished. But the End Date of that task was yesterday, isn’t it Mita??” Mr. John.“Yes, but I was stuck in another issue,” Mita had to give some vague reason.Mr. John looked at her for a minute because it had never happened before.“Sorry, I will close that asap,” Mita left without looking at Jay.He felt bad for Mita. Later he said sorry, but Mita said nothing.After few days similar incident happened. Mita used to call on Jay’s extension for any clarification but he used to disconnect saying that he is stuck in some other work. Mita was really angry,“Kanna, this is not fair. I called you for any clarifications but you are not at all attending my calls and not even calling me back.”“Sorry Mita, you know that, we have so much work pressure and I am always in client’s meeting,”“I understand that Kanna, but the pressure is same for me. And I call you only for work, not for chitchats, ” Mita.“I know I know, I am very sorry for that, just few more days Mita, then our project will be done, please understand me till then,” Jay put his arms around her and insisted.“Hmmm ok, but make sure our work is not impacted because whenever I call you in office, that is always for work, so you too understand please!!”“Yes my darling,” Jay.-----------------------------------It was a busy afternoon; everyone was engrossed in their work. Suddenly, few team members came and started discussing about one requirement. Mita had gone to fill her water bottle. As soon as she came back at her desk, she noticed that, near her cubicle, few people had gathered and having some serious discussion. Jay and Nitin also were part of that. Mita was standing there and was trying to understand the agenda. She understood the concern and realized that the requirement they were discussing was not part of the project scope. Including Jay, everyone was putting their opinion, Mita tried to speak in between,“Hi guys, but I have some information on this, it was decided that….,” before she could finish her sentence,Jay stopped her and said, “Mita, you please keep quite..!”She was taken a back by what Jay said. She could not believe in her ears. There was a pin drop silence and everybody was looking at Mita.  She was embarrassed. Somehow, she could manage to continue, “Guys, sorry, but I was a part of initial requirement gathering, so, I am just trying to give you my views on this.” She gave her inputs and without looking at Jay, she left from the discussion immediately. Jay realized what he had done. That day, Mita, did not wait for Jay and left office. Jay called her but she rejected his calls.He sent her messages, “Sorry Mita, it was not intentional..!!!” but this time, she did not bother to reply him back.“What happened? Why did Mita leave office alone? Why did she not wait for us??” Prachi asked Nitin and Jay.Nitin had witnessed the incident. He knew that Mita was deeply hurt,“Jay, jo bhi hua achha nahi tha,” Nitin.Jay said nothing. He was feeling guilty.“Can someone tell me, what happened?” Prachi had no clue.Nitin narrated her the incident.“Ohh no, that was really sad. She must be feeling so bad. Jay, this time you are going to have a tough time. Mita is so independent girl. I know she loves you a lot, but today you hurt her self-respect, which is above everything for her. You have to be very careful now!” Prachi.“I know,” Jay started walking towards the station. He was thinking how to face Mita?To be continued……
