âPlease stop it. Please stop this nonsense. I'm begging you not to say this. You do not know my husband. If he gets to know that you're troubling his wife, he will kill you for sureâ Rehana said while wiping her tears furiously over the call.
âRehanaâ
Her heart started beating rapidly when she heard his voice outside her room.
âPlease stop bothering me, whoever you are pleaseâ She told over the phone and cut the call as Abhimaan was impatiently knocking on her door.
Rehana threw her phone at the bed and looked at the mirror. âYou have to be strong Rehana.â She told herself and took deep breaths before going to open the door. .
âWhat are you doing , wife??â Abhimaan asked coming inside after she opened the door and he locked it.
âNothing. I was changingâ She smiled at him so that he wouldn't notice her gloomy face.
âYou were crying baby?â Abhimaan held her wrist and pulled her close.
Rehana looked at his tensed face then smiled, nodding her head as no.
âRehana, do not lie to me. I can clearly see your red eyes and wet lashesâ He wiped her wet lashes when she broke down in front of him and hugged.
âBaby⦠. Rooh what happened? Anyone said anything to you? Did anyone hurt you? Are you upset Rooh?â He asked politely caressing her hairs and back, when she sobbed in his warm embrace.
Abhimaan lifted her by her waist and went to her bed.
Making her sit in his lap he cupped her cheeks.
âTell me what's bothering you?â
Rehana shook her head and sniffed.
âI'm missing them, Abhi. My abbu jaan, my ammi jaan, my bhaijaan. My sweet little happy family.â
âDo not miss them with tears, Rehana. They'll be sad seeing you like this, broken. You're the strongest baby of theirs and also mineâ Abhimaan wiped her cheeks and kissed one by one when Rehana giggled out, hearing him calling her his baby.
He smiled at her and she pecked his lips softly, encircling her hands around his neck. Abhimaan nuzzled his nose with her and she smiled.
She couldn't tell him. Not under any circumstance. They'll also hurt him as they hurted her family years ago. They never let them live peacefully, her mother and father struggled a lot from the day one of their relationship. She can't trust this man of her mother's maternal family.
âOkay. Tell me about them. About your childhoodâ Abhimaan placed her on the bed mattress and laid beside her.
âyou want to know about my childhood?â
âYes, why not? I want to know how my baby wife used to spend her life earlierâ Abhimaan pulled her close in his embrace and she smiled.
He knows her well, more than anyone. He knows how to pamper her, when to scold her, when to care for her. He knows every single detail, when she was upset, when she was happy.
She was happy being with him though they're far away from each other physically still they're attached by heart.
She started telling about her childhood and he listened carefully, until she fell asleep.
Abhimaan noticed every single feature of her face and leaned to kiss her forehead followed by pecking her lips, when she smiled in her sleep.
âI know something definitely has happened to you. You don't have to tell me by the words Rehana. I know when my Rooh is upset and why she is upset. I'll find out the truth soon jaan.â He kissed her forehead once more before leaving her room to his own.

âRooh babyâ Divya entered inside Rehana's room in the morning.
It's been five days since Ayaan and Ishani's engagement.
And everyone was so happy, enjoying the warm winter with sweet and beautiful moments.
But in this serenity, Rehana's mind and heart was filled with chaos. She couldn't sleep at night, nor could she take breaths peacefully, after every phone call from the person. She was trying hard to hide it from the family and especially from Abhimaan.
While he was determined to find out what was going on with her. She stopped going to university after that day when some masked man came in front of her and threatened her.
Rehana clutched her bag tightly when they surrounded her at the university field. Where she and one of her trusted friends, Lisa, were finishing their assignment together.
âLisa you leaveâ She whispered to Lisa who shook her head as no and held Rehana's hand tightly.
âThey won't hurt me Lisa. But if you stay with me, they'll harm youâ Rehana said worriedly when her eyes met the green ones who were looking at her irritatingly.
âI can't leave you like this, with them. They're looking so dangerous. Please listen to me, we should run away from here. And will inform the police about themâ Lisa said, not understanding why Rehana was so confident that they wouldn't hurt her, when they're looking at her so disgustingly.
âNo. No. No. Please do not involve the police. It'll be risky. Please Lisa, I beg you. Please leave. I'll meet you outside of the university please Lisa.â Rehana's eyes became watery and Lisa sighed.
âFine. Please do not let them winâ Lisa said and last time glanced at her, before leaving her alone.
When Lisa left, Rehana looked at the four men and asked
âPlease stop scaring me please. I do not know where bhaijaan is. How could I know anything about him when you all didn't leave my mother and father that day.â
âWe are not asking about your dead mother and father Rehana. Just tell us where Rehan is?â
âTrust me mamujaan I do not know. I really do not know. I myself want to know where he is nowâ Rehana joined her hands in front of his maternal uncle.
âJust know this, your Abhimaan is in dangerâ He said and was going to leave but stopped on their track when they heard her voice.
âAllah ka vasta hai Mamujaan, agar hamare Abhimaan ko kuch ho gaya to main bhul jaungi aap hamare ammi ke bade bhaijaan hai aur rishte mein hamare mamujaan lagte haiâ
(Mamujaan for God's sake, if anything happens to my Abhi, I will forget that you're my mother's elder brother and my mamu in relation)
Rehana said with determination and left the place with a thudding heart and chaos in mind.
While coming out of the university Lisa dialled Abhimaan's number and described everything to him.
Rehana has only told about Abhimaan being her husband to Lisa, whom she trusted the most here.
Seeing Rehana coming out from the gate with a pale face, she went and hugged her, while tears rolled down from Rehana's eyes.
âI'm tired Lisa. I'm tired of their threats. I'm tired of being alone, without anyone to share my pain. I can't tell anything to Divya, because if I tell her then everyone will get to know about them. And it'll be more risky for Abhimaanâ
âYou should tell Abhimaan before it's too late, Rehana. It's been two months they're threatening you over call and those fucking men dare to come here.â
âPlease do not tell Abhimaan anything. They will kill him, I do not want any fight between them. The fight, which took my parents away from me years ago, the fight, which made my brother leave the country, I do not want any fightâ Rehana held Lisa's hand and asked to promise her.
âPromise me you will never tell anything to Abhimaan.â
Lisa looked uncomfortable but placed her right palm over Rehana's while crossing her left two fingers, for lying to her. She smiled and Rehana exhaled deeply before leaving.

âRooh babyâ Divya called again when she didn't get any answer from the closet room Or the bathroom.
âItni subah subah yeh ladki chali kaha gayi?â
(Where did this girl go in the early morning?)
Divya's eyes went to the bedside table where there were some pills.
She took those pills and read out the name.
âWhat are these pills?â Divya pulled out her phone from the jogger's pocket and searched about the pill and what it is used for.
âDepression pills? Whose pills are these?â She looked at her left and right side to find any clue.
âIt's definitely not Rehana's right.â Divya worriedly started searching the drawers of the bed side table.
âIt's not Rehana's, I know. It can't be her.â Tears formed in her eyes when she found a prescription, written by a famous psychologist of their city.
With a shaken hand she opened the fold and read out. When she found Rehana's name written in the patient's name, the paper fell down from her hands.
âIt can't be true.â Picking the prescription, with the pills she rushed down to where everyone was sitting down.
