Chapter 51

50. Twin Rossi Brothers (Bonus 7)

A Mob Boss's Dominance (Book 4-About Tristan)

Tristan was sitting with Vienna in the living room and they were watching a film or rather Vienna was. Tristan was not paying attention to the movie at all. He was sitting next to Vienna on the sofa as she was leaning to him. He kept kissing her and stroking her skin.

Vienna was aware of it and at some point she said "What's the point of this film if you are not watching it?"

Tristan said "The point is it's a good excuse for me to be in your house at this time of the day to spend time with you. As long as you are with me I don't mind what we do Vienna."

Vienna sighed and sat up. She then walked to the projector and turned it off "You know when we go to college we won't have as much time to watch movies. I will be studying and so would you."

She then came to sit opposite Tristan facing him on her knees on a sofa "Why isn't anything good enough for you Tristan? You just don't seem interested in any hobbies we used to have."

Tristan smiled "I am interested Vienna but you interest me more at this time."

Vienna said "Nonsense. You have changed Tristan."

Tristan said "I have changed. Of course. But have I changed in terms of how I treat you? Have I changed towards you?"

Vienna said "That's not what I am saying."

Tristan said "Good. Then what's the problem. If I change towards you then you can complain."

Vienna said "It's not a complaint. It's an observation."

Tristan said "If it's about observations then I have some points to raise too... about you and how you have changed ... towards me. Do you want to hear it?"

Vienna objected "I haven't changed."

Tristan said "Oh you have."

Vienna asked "How?"

Tristan said "You are much nicer to me. You are way too obedient for my liking. Before I was named as the O'Kane heir we had more disagreements. You were starting to not accept everything I say. So why are you nice to me? Is it because we now have limited contact? I think not. So it makes me wonder ..."

Vienna shrugged. "I guess I don't see much point in arguing sometimes. So I hold back. But it doesn't mean I agree with everything you say. So I guess you have to wait and see if I do anything you disapprove of by your own accord. I like surprises. Don't you." She then winked. "I better go make some breakfast." She then stood up and left. She liked her baking and cooking.

Tristan sighed and walked behind her. He stood there watching her. Then he had a look around the kitchen at the cupboards. His mothers kitchen was different totally. It was made to match their fathers taste in Irish delicacies.

He went to stand at the door leaning to the cupboards. Vienna was making omelettes. She liked to go over the top for breakfast. He looked at his Viennese cake almost untouched on the counter. She had promised to have it later on that day. But she was going to make breakfast. He watched her checking on her bread and pastries in the oven. They always had frozen dough to go at this house. At his home, his mother didn't bake as much. The aroma of fresh pastry was amazing but he preferred it if she spent less time caring about food preparation and think of herself more.

Tristan decided to help with making coffee. But she had it covered. As he walked to the coffee corner, she blocked his path "Sit down Tristan. I like to do everything."

Tristan crossed his arms over his chest "You are acting like your mother. There is just me here. I would have liked to have some cake and milk. That was all. Why are you acting like you are making breakfast for a big party?"

Vienna started making coffee "How intense do you want your coffee?"

Tristan sighed "I will have what you have."

Vienna said "Ok." She then turned to him "Look. Working in the kitchen relaxes me. It's good for stress relief."

Tristan walked to her and put his hand on an overhead cupboard while watching Vienna "Stress? For what? Come on Vienna. You can't worry about your father. If anything, whoever that is crazy enough to upset your father will need stress therapy. Your mother is affecting you. If this continues I will ask your father if I can take you away until we go to college."

Vienna laughed "Good luck with that. My father will never agree. Tristan. We can be normal too. It's ok to worry for things. I don't need to be rock like you. You never disclose your feelings. It's ok to admit you have fears."

Tristan said "Don't change the subject. It's not about me. It's about you. Your mother is influencing you."

Just then Viggo walked into the kitchen "It smells great." He looked at Tristan "I am so glad to see you visit us today. Vienna is making a big breakfast."

Vienna rolled her eyes "Mum always makes nice breakfast. There is no waffles because father is not here this morning."

Viggo nodded "Can you make a tray for mum so I take it for her and uncle Angelo?"

Vienna nodded.

Viggo walked to Tristan and whispered "Tristan. Come out for a minute."

Tristan walked behind Viggo and they stopped outside the kitchen next to the windows. Viggo looked outside.

Tristan looked outside too and spoke without looking at Viggo "So What's new? Does your father need help?"

Viggo took a deep breath  "He is occupied. He has enough help... I don't have a good feeling at all. Its quiet out there. Too quiet. It feels like a silence before storm. Has your father told you what has been happening?"

Tristan said"Not much... What's the latest update?"

Viggo sighed " It's not looking good. My father doesn't want to connect with his family. Why can't they leave him in peace. It never ends. You know. The damage family can do is far greater sometimes. My father has seen better treatment from strangers compared to some family members. Your father has been more of a family member to him than anyone else. Can I count on you Tristan to be like your father?" He turned to look at Tristan "Can you be a good friend and ally to us? Just like your father."

Tristan looked at Viggo "Why do you ask me that Viggo. I love you sister."

Viggo said "You do love her... But what if you are caught in the middle? Who's side will you take if you are caught between the Irish side and the Italian side? My father always put your father above everyone else and saw him as a brother...  Your father always took my father's side no matter what they threw at him. How about you Tristan?"

Tristan said honestly "Only time will tell. Won't it. It's easy to make promises and then not keep them. I can say I am not like my father. No one can be like him. It's like me asking you if you ever be like your father. You can't guarantee that... Can you? I can ask you the same question, you asked me."

Viggo smiled sadly "Thanks for your honesty. I will always have your back. I always will. At the beginning I preferred someone else for her..."

Tristan raised an eyebrow "So not only you didnt like me, you preferred someone else... Let me guess... Edward Blake?"

Viggo shook his head "No. Thats my mother who will always prefer him. You know that Tristan. My mother had that promise from my father that if they have a daughter, my mother will be responsible for the choices in her upbringing and have the last say... But my mother didnt think her daughter will fall for a criminal... She had no say over who she courted... So thats why Tristan she is mad at you... Its not about Edward Blake... Its about the promise my father gave my mother before they even got married... My mother had the last say in every matter... But she cant have the same say in this matter..."

Tristan said "So... don't agree with your mother. Do you?"

Viggo said "I talk about my lack of faith in your suitability for my sister in past tense. Dont I? I approved of someone else... That was before everything that happened last year..."

Tristan asked "What made you change your mind?"

Viggo shrugged "Well... You were patient and didnt pressure her which I admired. You could. You were fully capable of intimidating her. You waited for her ... I like your self restraint. She fell for you which is a fact I cant over look. She loves you..."

Tristan asked "So who is it? The one you preferred?"

Viggo looked outside again "Funnily enough coincidently you are going to see him today."

Tristan raised an eyebrow "Who are we talking about?"

Viggo took a deep breath and continued looking outside "I asked you to come out to actually give the heads up about him and the conversation went in this direction too..." He looked at Tristan "Do you know the Rossi family? I dont think you have ever met them. They dont talk to the Irish directly as far as I know... Socially they are not that open..."

Tristan said "I have met Riordan Rossi. He does talk to my father... But havent met anyone else..."

Viggo said "Riordan Rossi has three kids... Twin boys and a girl... Rupert, Roman and Rafaela..."

Tristan took a step towards him "You preferred which twin..."

Viggo said "Well... Roman is my favourite... Rupert is Vincenzo's favourite... He has a girl already... Her name is Tatiana... But Roman is single...and ... he has come onto Vienna before..." He then smiled "Dont look like that Tristan... Can't you take some rivalry..."

Tristan said "This is serious Viggo. Why wasnt I told before?"

Viggo said "I am telling you now. Aren't I? They will go to college with us next September. I thought we can wait till then... But today the brothers are asked to come and wait here while their father is helping in a personal matter between my father, your father and you know my Sicilian family.... he doesnt want anyone to witness private matters that has nothing to do with them... I got the phone call when you were with Vienna... So its a business arrangement Tristan... The boys are coming here... Their sister is with their aunt..." Viggo looked outside "They are here. It seems... Thats their car..."

Tristan looked outside and saw the car surrounded by body guards pulling up. The twin boys got off the car. They were almost identical but it was possible to tell them apart. He asked "Which one is Roman?"

Viggo said "The one with glasses."

Tristan said "I should have been informed about this before... What do you mean he came onto her? ..."

Viggo rolled his eyes "He is honourable and has stopped any signs of affection coming Vienna's way after you claimed my sister but still he fancies my sister. I know he does... They write to each other... But its not love letters... They talk about college I think... You can ask Vienna about him if you wish...."

Tristan nodded "They write to each other?"

Viggo sighed "Yes. But its not romantic... My sister doesnt like him. He likes my sister." He then walked away... "Look. He is from an honourable family. My father and your father trust him. Doesnt that say anything to you?"

Tristan followed Viggo down the stairs "Yes. It does. Thats why I am not going to shoot him dead before I ask questions."

Viggo turned to Tristan "He is no threat."

Tristan said "I treat everyone as a threat to Vienna...You must know that by now..."

Viggo reached down the stairs and saw the twin boys outside "Just dont start a war... My sister doesnt like him..."

As the twins saw Viggo they smiled and hugged him. They looked past him at Tristan.

Rupert said "Who is this guy?"

Viggo cleared his throat "This is Tristan O'Neil."

The boys looked at each other knowingly and stared at him silently. Rupert offered his hand to Tristan "I am Rupert Rossi. Nice to meet you."

Viggo shook his hand "Delighted."

Roman then offered his hand "Roman Rossi."

Tristan let go of Rupert's hand and shook Roman's.

Roman pressed his lips but didnt say anything about the pain as Tristan was deliberately crushing his hand in a non friendly handshake..
