The Contract Marriage

The story follows Sarah, who is excited to meet Julian, whom she has not seen for half a month. She carries soup dumplings and black bean soy milk, especially made for Julian. As she reaches Julian's office, she hears a woman's voice from inside, which confirms her suspicion that Julian is cheating on her. She is devastated when she hears Julian confess his love for the other woman and calling her a "fool." Sarah's tears flow as she realizes that she had been in love with Julian for nine years, but he had never reciprocated her feelings. Sarah confronts Julian about his affair with Vivian, whom he loves. She questions whether he ever loved her during the nine years of their relationship. Julian admits that he never loved Sarah and apologizes, but Sarah slaps him and demands to know why he kept the truth from her for so long. Vivian, who is pregnant with Julian's child, adds insult to injury by taunting Sarah. During their argument, Sarah falls and hits her head on a table, causing her to bleed.
