Chapter 15-Dealing with the Queen B

Loving The Bad Boy

Chapter 15- Dealing with the Queen

-Emma-

Over the next few days Aiden and I continued to work on our project for World History and I have to admit that Aiden is pretty smart. Before he was slacking and leaving most of the work on me, since according to him I was the nerd and nerds do all the work. I had to disagree though, I have my lazy days were I want nothing to do with school and stupid assignments. We all have them, right? That's what I thought. Nerds get tired of school too! But ever since we got back from our trip from Matt's lake house Aiden has been putting in more work into the project and we've been at each other's house every night since then working on this project that's due in less than a week. I have to say that we've been working our asses off to get a decent grade on this thing. Aiden decided to take on the research and power point while leaving me with the report. He's been gathering information like no tomorrow and has been putting in a hundred and ten percent and I'm impress that the guy can do so much. It's like since he told me about his past he's been more determine to prove to himself that he can be more that 'Aiden Black, the bad boy.' I'm guessing he took my advice to not let his past define him, but why do I have this feeling that Aiden is hiding something else that has to do with his past? I feel like there is more than what he is letting on, but I don't want to pry. So I just shrugged it off for now, but it didn't stop my curious mind from wondering back to the topic.

"Emma." I heard a voice call out as I felt something jab my side. I let out a yelp and turn to face the person to give them a glare. Amy was smiling at me sheepishly and pointed to the front of the classroom where our math teacher was staring at me intently. Mr. Gray's bald head was reflecting off the light that was shining down from the florescent lights on the ceiling. His wrinkly face was formed into a scowl and his lips stayed in a thin line. His body language screamed disapproval, the way his hands where placed firmly on his waist. Oh shit what did I do now?

"Miss. Miller, I expect you to pay attention in this class and not to daydream. I have called your name multiple times trying to gain your attention, but you seem so lost in your own world that the only way to snap you out of it was for Miss. Johnson to use physical contact." Mr. Gray said in a disapproving manner. I mentally rolled my eyes at him. Maybe if you weren't so damn boring I would actually pay attention to you and not be bored to death with your stupid monotone voice!

"Excuse me? Would you like to repeat that, Miss. Miller?" Mr. Gray exclaimed.

Oh shit. I said that out loud?

"Yes Miss. Miller, you said it out loud and you have earned yourself three days of detention."

I gapped at him. Detention? I've never gotten detention in my life! "Mr. Gray, I didn't mea-"

"Not a word, before I give you a week worth of detention!" He said sternly. I zipped my lips and kept quiet. I glanced around the class to see everyone else looking at me with wide eyes. I guess they weren't expecting that out of me. The bell rang signaling the end of class. I gathered my books and started to exit the class but not before Mr. Gray got in the last word. "Meet me here after school for your detention. Miss Miller." I rolled my eyes at his statement as I walked out of his classroom. Stupid teacher.

"What the heck was that?" Amy asked as we walked down the hallway to our next class which was World History.

"Honestly, I don't know." I said grimacing at the thought of Mr. Gray.

"I think someone has been hanging out with a certain bad boy a bit too much." Amy said smirking.

I raised an eyebrow at her. "You think me hanging out with Aiden has caused me to speak my mind?"

"Something like that" She said as we took out usual seats.

"I don't think so, I think my brain controlled my mouth and those words came out. I didn't mean for it to happen. It just did." I said with a shrug of my shoulders. Aiden and Matt walked in right after I said that.

"Did what?" Aiden asked as he took his seat next to me. Matt took his seat next to Amy but kept his distance away from her. These two. I mentally shook my head at them.

"Emma got detention for back talking Mr. Gray." Amy said proudly. I glared at her for a second before I turned my attention to Aiden see his reaction.

"Detention?" Aiden raised an eyebrow at us. I bit my lip and nodded. I saw Aiden's gaze drop down to my lips for a second before he cleared his throat. Weird.

"The nerdy good girl got detention for back talking a teacher, eh?" Matt said with a smirk plastered onto his face. "Way to go Emma!" He said holding up his hand for a high five.

I chuckled at his reaction as I returned his high five. "It's not that great." I said.

"It is! It's your first one." Matt said.

"How do you know I have gotten one before?" I questioned him.

He gave me a pointed look. "Okay your right, it is my first one."

"How many days?" Aiden asked playing the pencil in his hands.

"Um, three days." I said.

I felt something pull my cheek and turn to see Aiden pinching them. "Aww my little nerd is growing up." He said in a baby voice. I felt a blush warm my cheek but I rolled my eyes at him as I slap his hands away.

"Ouch, no need to hit." Aiden said pouting as he rubbed his hand.

"Aww poor baby, would you like me to kiss it and make it better?" I said sarcastically.

"Yes." Aiden said seriously and held out his hand.

I slapped his hand again. "Not happening bad boy."

Aiden pulled his hand and rubbed his hand while he glared at me. I rolled my eyes at him and turned back to face our friends. Both Amy and Matt had huge grins plastered on their faces as they looked at us. Uh okay then.And just when I was about to ask them why they were grinning like a Cheshire cats our teachers walked in and announced for us to start working on our projects.

~~~
The day ended rather quickly and I had to say goodbye to my friends and lug my lazy ass to detention.
"It won't be that bad." Amy stated as we walk down the hallway with Derek and Matt.
"Yeah you don't do shit in there. Just sit and wait for the time to pass by." Matt said. I raise an eyebrow at them. This is the first time these two agreed on something even though it is detention. They must have notice it because they both looks at each other for a second and looked away with each of them having a faint blush on their cheeks. Oh they so like each other! I'm definitely giving Amy crap about it later! This is gonna be fun. I mentally smirked to myself.
Another thought ran through my mind. "Hey guys, where's Aiden?" I asked curiously.
"Don't know. Haven't seen him since lunch, come to think of it." Derek said.
"Same here." Amy added.
"Ditto." Matt stated. If no one has seen him since lunch then where the hell did the idiot disappear to? I shrugged it off and said my final goodbye to my friends. For all I know I could die from loneliness in detention or Mr. Gray could lock me in the room for forever with no one to find me and I would have to survive on chewing on pencils and chalk! You never know, okay? So don't judge!
I dragged myself to Mr. Gray's classroom. I inwardly groan when I stood before it the classroom I've been dreading to go to all day. Here goes nothing.
I stepped into the classroom and saw Mr. Gray having a heated conversation with someone who was seated at the desk in front of him. I couldn't see exactly who it was because the old math teacher's figure loomed over whoever was seated before him. I entered the classroom and leaned against the wall waiting for them to finish. I have no idea what they were arguing about because I wasn't paying attention. About a minute or two later Mr. Gray turned to walk away from the person who was seated that is until he saw me.
"Well Miss. Miller, I see you made it here. So glad you could join us." He said sarcastically. I mentally rolled my eyes, but I just nodded in his direction not wanting an insult to slip out of my mouth and earn me another detention. "Take a seat." He said as he moved away from the unknown student's desk. I looked up and was taken back to see the person before me.
Aiden Black was sitting comfortably in the desk in front of me lounging in it with a smirk on his lips like he didn't have a care in the world. I bet my jaw touched the ground because I was in complete shock to see him sitting there. When and how? Where and why? Were all single word questions that was running through my mind at that moment.
"Miss. Miller can you please take a seat now?" Mr. Gray said frustrated. I looked away from Aiden and nodded in the old math teacher's direction. I walked over to the desk near Aiden and sat down. Mr. Gray announced that he needed to leave the classroom for a couple of minutes and warned us if we even tried to leave detention would be even worse than what it is now. I don't know how it can get any worst with him there! Grumpy old stupid math teacher. Now you see why I don't like him!?
As soon as Mr. Gray left the room a turned to face Aiden and smacked his arm hard. "Why are you here?" I hissed at him.
He rubbed the spot that I hit him sending a glare at me. "Stop abusing me." He said. "And obviously I got detention from the crabby old man." He said giving me a pointed look.
"I mean what did you do to get detention Aiden?" I asked losing my patience as each second passed.
"Now sweetheart why would I tell you that? Just know I have one week worth of detention." Aiden said giving me his signature smirk.
"Aiden." I said as my patience was wearing thin. Don't let him get to you!
"Emma." Aiden said with that stupid but yet sexy smirk on his face. Control yourself.
"Just tell me why you have detention!?" I said yelling at him. Nice going Emma.
"Insulted the old man's teaching style and told him he needed to retire before his voice killed more brain cells of his students." Aiden said nonchalantly with a shrug of his shoulders.
My jaw dropped. "You said what!?"
"I said tha-"
"I heard what you said, Aiden." I said slightly annoyed.
"Then why ask." He muttered and I rolled my eyes at him.
"When did this happen?"
"After lunch, I have him for my second to last class."
When he said that something clicked. "After lunch you say?" He nodded. "After I told you I got detention from the same teacher?" I said smirking.
Aiden let out an awkward chuckle and rubbed the back of his neck nervously as a faint blush cover his cheeks. "Uh.. Err, Yeah." He said. Aww, Aiden got detention for me?
I leaned over the desk and pinched his cheeks. "Aww, Mr. Bad Boy got detention for me? Is someone getting soft?" I said stretching his cheeks.
"Emma. Let go" He whined. I let go of his cheeks but still smirked at him. "No I didn't get detention for you. I haven't gotten detention for a few weeks now and what kind of bad boy would I be if I didn't keep up the reputation I have?" He said rubbing his cheeks.
"Bullshit. You got detention for me to keep me company." I said to him.
"No. Why would I do that?" he said raising an eyebrow at me.
"Because you care!" I sang out.
Aiden scoffed. "Yeah right."
"Mr. Bad Boy actually cares. Who would think that you would actually care for a nerdy good girl like me?" I said as the smirk on my face stretched.
"I don't care." Aiden said sending a glare at me.
"If you don't care why get detention with the same teacher in the first place?" I questioned curiously.
Instead of answering me Aiden whipped out his phone and ignored my comment. After numerous times of calling his name and not getting a response I snatched the phone out his hands and stuffed it into my pocket. Aiden couldn't say anything because just as I had put the phone into my pocket Mr. Gray walked in giving us a warning look. I glanced at the clock and saw that we had fifteen minutes left of detention. I ignored the heated glare that Aiden was staring at me with and acted like nothing happened.
Fifteen minutes passed by rather quickly and when Mr. Gray said that we could go I sprinted out of that classroom like it was on fire. I ran down the hall as fast as I could and me being the idiot that I am looked back to see if Aiden was on my tail which caused me not to see where I was going and for me to trip over my own two feet. I close my eyes and was ready for the impact of the ground and when I didn't feel it I opened my eyes and saw a tan arm wrapped around my waist and my face inches from the ground.
"Going somewhere sweetheart?" I heard a husky voice whisper that cause shivers to run down my back. Aiden. He pulled me up and turned me around to face him. We were chest to chest and I could feel his warm minty breath on my cheek.
"N-n-no." I stuttered out and gulped. The closeness of our bodies was doing so many unknown things to me. The attraction I felt was nothing like I felt before with him. I felt his fingers graze the skin where my shirt had ride up at. The skin to skin contact made me melt on the inside and sparks to fly.
"Emma." Aiden whispered huskily into my ear. I felt a blush coat my cheeks when he whisper my name and just when he was about to say something else a loud bang of the door sounded the hall. Aiden and I jumped away from each other and looked to see who it was.
Ashley Carter and the whole cheerleading squad were making their way out of the gym. When I caught sight of her the threat that she gave me rang clear in my head. I know she just saw what happened because the heated glare that she was giving me was full of hatred.
I felt a hand on my shoulder and turn ignoring Ashley to see Aiden looking at me. "Need a ride home?" He asked.
I smiled gratefully at him. "Yeah I do actually, but I need to go to my locker and get my textbook for literature. So meet you outside?" He nodded and gave me a small smile. I walked down the hall to my locker and opened it grabbing the textbook I needed. When I closed my locker I saw a towering figure standing next to it.
I sighed. "What do you want?" I asked. Ashley Carter was blocking my path to walk down the hall so I had to confront her, I had no choice.
She glared at me intently and I swear if she could lasers would come out and shoot me down. "Didn't I warn you to stay away from Aiden?" She stated.
"So? You act like I was actually going to listen to you."
"Do you know who I am?" Ashley asked slowly losing her patience.
"Oh honey, the while school knows who you are." I said smirking at her. "You're Ashley Carter, the head cheerleader, the queen B and the school's slut." I spat out the last word. "You spread your legs for most of the guys in this school, so why should Aiden matter?" I asked innocently. Her eyes widen and her mouth unhinged in disbelief.
"You little bi-" she started to say but I interrupted her.
"No sweetheart. I'm not the bitch. You obviously are since you are the queen bitch of the school." I said mockingly. "Oh look at the time" I said checking my phone. "Looks like I have to go now, since Aiden is giving me a ride home and I don't want to keep him waiting. It was nice talking to you Ashley." With one final smirk I turned to walk away leaving Ashley in complete shock.
Take that Queen Bitch.
