Chapter 13: Lisandra
A Song of Askaldenfirsts and Dragons. Book one: The outlanders (Part I-IV)
Askaldenfirst significantly outruns the dragon, the mighty Gaal. She immediately understood who was sitting on the throne in the square. A snow argiphone has landed near the place of execution.
âDombard!âLisandra turned to the ghost, who was in the body of king of Eileenelia.
âAscaldenfirst, what a beautiful surprise! Which of the eleven? Maybe youâre the one who gave birth to two twins, creating the family branches of Dal Dalors and Vis Dalors?â
Instead of a gallows, Dombard organized an execution by beheading, and the Mijiran Nemonisâ head was one of the heads that formed the pile. But Dombard executed those sentenced to death, fulfilling his role as king, and he did not kill the others unnecessarily yet.
âNo, Dombard! I am Lisandersterna Forbrandermedlis, I am the mother of the Talanjir clan! But it doesnât matter. Leave the kingâs body immediately, ghost!â
âOr what?â the ghost smiled.
âBliks Ked Kom At Tra Dit Hood!â cast Lisandra, and three huge lightning bolts combined into one and struck the king of the elves, but the ghost managed to leave his body and move into another. The spell is aimed at ghosts, but it can cause significant damage to the brain activity of the vessel that received the strike of magical lightning, while the body itself rarely suffers.
Some arqilunians ran to their king. And the others got into fighting positions and parted, surrounding the elf soldier, which Dombard possessed.
âBliks Ked Kom At Tra Dit Hoodâ Lisandra said again, and again the ghost managed to leave the body.
âWhatâs going on here, who are you all?âAelarnal suddenly shouted.
Lisandra realized that the ghost can move from body to body as much he wanted, and she would risk the consciousness of the elves. She approached the first soldier and asked for a sword.
âArqilunians, you must immediately head to the Greywind Forest, a dragon is flying here,â the askaldenfirst ordered. She thrust the sword in front of her and began to cast a protective dome spell from which the ghost would not be able to escape.
Dombard realized what was happening and ran into the crowd of elves, but suddenly a barrier appeared and he braked sharply.
âForgive me, arqilunian,â she addressed Dombardâs vessel consciousness, âI know you can hear me, today you will die, but your death will not be in vain. Your death will serve a good cause, I, Lisandersterna Forbrandermedlis, will put an end to the ghostâs atrocities, I promise you, faithful son of Eileenelia!â with these words she pulled the sword out of the ground, then she turned to the astonished elves, âand why are you still here, want to die, perish along with your flourishing country? Immediately flee south into the desert forest, you will find salvation there, otherwise, you will die in the fire!â
Dombard in the body of a young arqilunian soldier was at the other end of the dome, and so he began to cast a fireball spell.
âKiyal Farus Fiyas Dracal,â and a huge fireball flew to the askaldenfirst who was running towards him. She dodged. âRakhom Kus Kadukh!â and a flaming spear appeared in the hands of the arqilunian, with which he barely had time to repel Lisandraâs attack.
A fierce duel began. Lisandra attacked swiftly and quickly and even did somersaults in flight as she attacked the arqilunian. But Dombard had excellent control of his vessel and successfully repelled every attack. The flaming spear was made of very strong metal, looked bright and hot, but it was very light metal, and it seemed to burn, but not in the middle of the metal shaft.
Dombard lunged with a spear and the tip cut through the air a couple of inches from the womanâs burnt cheek. She grabbed the burning part of the shaft and pulled with all her might that the elf flew at her by inertia, and set her sword up, and the soldier came upon it.
âA dignified death in battle,â she said, appealing to the arqilunianâs mind.
Dombard emerged from his body and his armor with sharp stone spikes took on a distinct shape, he pulled out his huge carved sword with a beautiful ancient snunorf ornament. He, holding the sword in both hands, lunged forward, using all his strength, and brought the sword down on Lisandra. She took the attack with her sword, which almost touched her eyebrow because the ghostâs blow was very powerful. Having retreated, she began to inflict swift blows from a turn, but the ghost deflected them. Lisandra ran away from him, and looked up, and saw hundreds of argiphones heading south, each bird carrying several families. It became deserted around the dome, and only the bodies and heads of the executed ermirians lay nearby.
Lisandra made another attack, and Dombard reflected it, and then suddenly drove the sword into her body, Lisandra dropped her sword and staggered.
âYou know you wonât kill me, âsaid Dombard, âjust as I wonât kill you. Not today, the time has not come.â
Lisandra began to pull out a sword from her body, and when she did it, her wound healed. The protective dome has disappeared.
âConvinced of the falsity of your prophecy?â Dombard asked suddenly, âGaal has returned, huh? Itâs not Gaal anymore?â Dombard laughed, seeing her displeasure. âSo the barzandakors must have sent their son, who would reincarnate into a dragon and help Gaal, a direct descendant of the barzandakors, your true brother, askaldenfirst, the only son of the Firsts, âthe one who walks among all as one, the one who will fly not as all.â Nordavindurrin!â
Askaldenfirst looked at him in surprise.
âForgotten words, ghost, a forgotten myth. Do you think Nordavindurrin is in Ermir now, wandering around in someoneâs body and waiting for the mad Gaal? Iâve seen Gaal, heâs not who he used to be, something happened after the collision with the star. He should have sacrificed himself, and should not have been resurrected... But why am I talking to you, you full of lies, Dombard!â
âSometimes I lie,â Dombard remarked discontentedly, âalmost always out of necessity, and your parents, the Firsts, left so many lies in manuscripts, books and scrolls that they confused not only the ermirians but also their daughters!â
âGo,â Lisandra said, âI made a promise to a soldier that I would kill you. And if today weâll not be able to kill each other, tomorrow will be a new dayâ¦â
The ghost has sheathed his sword and lost his distinct shape.
âSee you later, mother of the Talanjir clan,â the ghost said goodbye and left. Askaldenfirst glanced at him, and her faithful snow argiphone flew up to her.
âWell, Kundaminokh,â she stroked his beak, letâs fly to the lost kingdom of tukhtaashes, but remember that you will have to wait for me outside. Even though you are the smallest snow argiphone, you can damage your wings while flying through the underworld kingdom, âKundaminokh screamed approvingly, Lisandra climbed on the bird and they flew south.
