I was supposed to write why Justin and Savannah broke up, but I was unable to but have written this one instead.
So without further ado, the chapter-
The door opened with a loud thud and everyone's eyes were on the door. Obviously, that's what always happens when Aaron was at the door. The attention always seemed to be on him. He walked in slowly, his eyes on me.
I smiled, putting the 'fake girlfriend' facade up.
"Hey, where were-"
I was cut off by Aaron dropping to his knees. Well, one knee to be exact.
He was kneeling, his beautiful eyes staring up at me as he bit his lip. A small case was in his hand.
I would have found that to be a jaw-dropping sight if I wasn't wholly concentrated on my anxiety.
What was going on?
Aaron's POV when he gave Lexi a promise ring- Part 2

He knew he was going to get flack for this afterwards, but right now his temptations were controlling him. All he could think of right now was bringing her into his embrace and wiping that smug smile off her face in the only way he knew how.
"Kiss me." He ordered.
His lips involuntarily tugged up when her body tensed notably, a look of shock in her eyes. It only lasted for a moment before the typical fire was back in her gaze.
"This was not part of the plan!" She whisper-shouted so that only he could hear and he smiled. At one point, he had found her need to keep to plans to be irksome but, now, he found he had become fond of them.
Too fond.
He kept her hand in his, so she wouldn't move away, a smirk making its way to his face.
"Yeah, it wasn't. But, I did say I was going to get you back." He said, his smirk widening, watching her glare. He was glad that he could come up with a quick excuse but, truth be told, he just wanted her in his embrace. He didn't know why he wanted it; nor would he think too much into it. He knew that it would only lead to a spiral and him having to confront more than he was ready for. So, he chalked his feelings down to a mere 'curiosity'. That was it, he was curious about Lexi because she was unlike any else he had ever encountered.
He chalked it to that and focused back on the matter at hand: Lsxi glaring at him with the intensity of a thousand suns. He could tell she felt anger and it made him smile that he could affect her in some way or another. The niggling thought in the back of his head made him notice how angered she got to the thought of kissing him and it made him want to kiss her more. She was the unattainable; the untouchable and he wanted her all the more for that reason.
"You don't have to do it, Lexi. I mean, frankly, I know that you don't have the courage." He said, looking up to the ceiling and sighing deeply, a faint smile etched onto his lips. He said the words that he knew would get to her. In the little time that he had come to know her, he had realised one thing: she was as every bit as prideful and as competitive as him. With those two combined, he knew she'd take his words to heart and, that, she did.
He could tell as soon as she pulled him towards her with his shirt, her soft lips finally touching against his. In that very moment, nothing else mattered; nothing else existed. His heart thudded to a halt as he gave in to her, his lips quickly devouring hers with a hunger he had no clue needed to be satiated.
His arms wrapped tightly around her waist, so he could hold her closer and he lifted her up until she was floating on the tips of her shoes so he could get better access. He had known she was short, but he only realised now the distance between their heights.
His body tensed when her small fingers reached up and touched his hair, lacing through the strands in ways that made a shiver run up his spine. Her hands and lips moved fluidly against him and he briefly wondered if she had lied about not having a boyfriend before him. The was the only girl to make his feel like unravelling when his lips touched hers.
Had she been lying about not being kissed?
The thought instilled a feral anger in him and lifted a hand instinctively, placing it against her face and deepening the kiss, so that all she could sense was him. Any intimacies of the past would soon be forgotten by his hand and he intended to keep it that way.
They pulled back from each other slightly, her soft breaths fanning against his face as she inhaled some much needed oxygen, but the need for breath was significantly weaker than their want for one another and, before they knew it, their lips met again in a fiery mesh of heat and passion. A good thing too, for that one second away from her lips incurred the most vicious of withdrawal symptoms.
His lips moulded against hers perfectly, like it was preordained for them to kiss and he sighed into her lips, holding her waist tighter with fingers that were simultaneously firm but tentative. With every second into the kiss, he felt the emergence of clarity. He felt like a man anew; it was certainly odd, but refreshing. Yet before he could delve further into the odd feelings, the sound of the door opening arose.
"No PDA in the classroom." A teacher's voice spoke as he entered the classroom, thereby interrupting whatever had been occurring between Lexi and him. He would have stayed in her embrace with no care for the teachers or students, but he knew Lexi would think otherwise. She abruptly moved back from him, there bodies still within touching distance from each other and he held the urge back to grab her to him again.
Even more so when her anxious eyes began gazing around. He could tell that everyone's eyes were on them, having seen them just kiss. It was something he should have been happy about; his plan had worked. Instead, he felt frustration from how they had been cut short due to the interruption of others. If they had been alone, would it have escalated further? His body heated up at the thought.
It was then that a squirming Lexi turned back to him and his eyes were transfixed to her. The way in which her hair was slightly ruffled and lips a bit swollen from the force he had used, it made him feel a sense of pride. He couldn't help it as he stared at her, breathing slightly heavy. He was glad that he had made the decision to come to this lesson; glad he had made the decision to claim her mouth in front of others.
"I feel this lesson is going to go just great." Was all he said, his voice hoarse and he meant every word.
Things were beginning to get interesting.
*************
"Now, unlike integration, differentiation is used to find the gradient of a line at a certain point on a graph..." The teacher's voice boomed through the classroom, but he couldn't find it in him to listen nor make notes. Mason always made the most detailed notes anyhow and Aaron wasn't particularly bad at Maths. Unlike English, this subject was one of his stronger suits.
No, he couldn't focus, not when his lips were buzzing with electricity. That's what their kiss had been- electric.
A part of him knew he shouldn't have kissed her; he had made it clear last night that he couldn't. It would be unfair to her; she was too good for him. She deserved more than a broken semblance of a man. Yet, he couldn't help the selfish part inside him that gave in; that allowed Lexi to see his ugly side.
He hated himself for it, but he'd do it again. The kiss, in itself, was something he didn't regret and he couldn't help it as his eyes turned go her, watching as her hand touched her lips. He gazed at her tentatively then, wondering what she was thinking; he could never tell with her.
And, then it happened.
It was small, almost unnoticeable, but he saw it- the way her lips pulled up into the smallest of smiles. It made him feel warm inside and he couldn't help it as he leaned forward.
"I guess I made a mistake." He spoke suddenly, making her shoulders tense up and he, instinctively, placed an arm across her shoulders, making her relax. She watched him with a curious gaze.
"About what?" She questioned and he faltered. He wanted to say that he had made a mistake yesterday for not kissing her at the lake and hurting her due to his self-conscious, dark thoughts, but he didn't dare mention that in fear it would ruin the current mood. So, instead, he smirked, moving closer to her and reveling in her scent.
"About you not having courage. I made a mistake in thinking that." He could feel the softness of her cheeks as he spoke beside her and he held back the urge to kiss them, especially when she turned to face him fully, a smug smile on her face.
"So, what you're trying to say is 'The Great Aaron Walker' was wrong?" She teased, raising both eyebrows and he lit up at the challenge in her voice, rolling his eyes jokingly.
"No. What I'm trying to say is 'The Great Aaron Walker' was not right." Was all he said back and her eyebrows furrowed at this.
"Is there really a difference?" She questioned, folding her arms and he couldn't resist touching her as he leaned forward, tapping her nose with an index finger.
"Yes, cupcake. Yes, there is." He answered, taking in her vanilla scent. Yes, a cupcake, she was definitely a cupcake.
She just scoffed at him, turning away.
"Okay. Sure." She spoke dismissively, grabbing back to her pen and he gazed at the ring on her left hand. It sparkled against her slender fingers and an odd warmth filled him at the prospect of her having something of his on her person. It was as though it tied them together, even when they were apart.
"Do you like it?" Aaron spoke without though, taking hold of her hand, examining the ring with a smile. It suited her. Or rather, she suited it
"It's beautiful, Aaron." She smiled up at him, nodding appreciatively to my hand. Her smile did things to his heart and his free hand clenched into a fist.
"Like you." Was all he could muster, but he said it with absolute sincerity, making her eyes widen and cheeks tint red.
The bell rung then and he realised he couldn't take it anymore, standing up. If he stayed that close to her, he would kiss her again. So, he rose to his feet, looking back from his peripheral.
"You coming?" He questioned, sticking his hand out towards her and she smiled, grabbing to his hand like there was no alternative.
She was his to hold.

Coming up for next week's chapter...
Justin sighed deeply at my words, his hold on my hand tightening only slightly before he let go. He turned his full gaze on me before managing a small smile. But, it was still undoubtedly breathtaking.
"I get that. I think I just care too much." He let out bluntly, not realising how much it made me smile. I nudged his arm affectionately.
"I think, I suffer from the same problem when it comes to you." I replied and he smiled at my words.
His eyes flitted to Savannah as she came to our side, greeting me with a tight hug. I smiled at the sight of them; despite their relationship ending, their friendship had only flourished in these past years. Given that Savannah didn't have a job at the moment, she spent much of her time volunteering at church. Justin worked as a chartered accountant and to say he excelled in his job was an understatement. Right now, they both were single, having broken up 3 years prior due to their differences, but were very amicable.
The reason why Justin and Savannah broke up.
