Man in a Suit

(Night time - Gilbert house) Third Persons POV

Elena awakens from her slumber when she hears a noise coming from inside the house. Her bedroom door is slightly ajar. Mira had heard nothing from her room and continues to sleep soundly. Elena lays back down, turns over in her bed, and shuts her eyes.

In the bathroom, a towel is rustled by movement. Jonas appears in the doorway, looking at Elena. Elena is jolted out of bed, once again, when she hears a door slamming loudly. She sits up in her bed. Jonas has disappeared from the bathroom. He enters Mira's room silently. He sees a picture of her and Elena on her dress and takes it. Along with some of her hair from her brush.

Meanwhile Elena gets out of bed and slowly walks across her room. She quietly opens her ajar door and walks out onto the landing. Elena looks around the landing for anything suspicious and quietly approaches Jeremy's room, looking in through his ajar door. Suddenly, Elena hears a noise from behind her. She gasps and spins around. Alaric, shirtless and in his boxers. Alaric lowers the ice cream bowl he's carrying towards his nether region.

"I heard something" Elena mutters. Alaric chuckles nervously. Elena avoids his gaze, embarrassed. Jenna walks up the stairs, wearing Alaric's shirt. She runs her hand through her hair, embarrassed as well.

"That was probably us, I'm sorry" Jenna says sheepishly. "Surprised it didn't wake your sister" she adds.

"Mira is exhausted, the only thing that will wake her up is Grayson or her alarm" Elena states. Jenna and Alaric try to explain the situation to Elena, but are failing in their attempt. Alaric sighs and holds out the ice cream bowl to Elena.

"Chunky Monkey?" he asks. Elena shakes her head. Alaric walks past Elena and into Jenna's bedroom, shutting the door behind him. Elena starts to walk back towards her room. Jenna, embarrassed, walks up the remainder of the stairs. Apologizing again.

"It's okay, Jenna, don't worry about it" Elena assures her.

"I know he's been staying over a lot. Are you --- are you sure it's okay?" Jenna asks. As Jonas sneaks into Elena's room and takes her cheerleader photo. And some of her jewelry.

"Seems like things are good" Elena states.

"They're extremely good" Jenna tells her.

"Then I'm extremely okay with it" Elena tells her. Jonas hides back in the bathroom. As Jenna and Elena returned to their respected rooms. Elena soon curls up in her blankets and drifts back off to sleep.

Jonas heads out of the bathroom, stopping to take a hand mirror, before he exits, placing the mirror in the waistband of his pants. He exits the bathroom, walks onto the landing, descends the stairs, and exits the house without a soul knowing he was there. Mira still sleeping soundly in her bed.

(Next day) Mira's POV

So the full moon is in two days from now. I know Tyler is freaking out. I'm with him and Caroline in the woods. Jenna is minding Grayson for me today, as Matt is at school. "Matt's bumming pretty hard" Tyler tells Caroline.

"You two still fighting?" I ask her surprised.

"It's better this way" she states.

"I get it" Tyler states.

"You do?" we ask him surprised.

"Yeah. You can't be honest with him" he tells Caroline.

"What is he talking about?" I ask Caroline confused.

"He knows, about me" she admits sheepishly.

"Wait, you know about Caroline?" Tyler asks him shocked.

"Who do you think helped her?" I ask him. "Though she didn't tell me straight away, which was a mistake" I state.

"Which I will regret forever" Care mutters.

"It's not really fair to be with someone and not really let them know who you are. I get it" Tyler tells us. "Right over here. There's a cellar that goes to our old property" he states.

"I know" Care states and I give her a look.

"You do?" he asks confused.

"I know that this is the old Lockwood property" she clarifies. Nice save. Tyler looks at her skeptically and heads down the steps of the Cellar. We follow and he tells us to mind out step. Tyler turns on a flashlight as they enter the Cellar and moves the beam of light around the room.

"I'm guessing this is where Mason was headed the night he turned. It's this way" Tyler states heading deeper into the room.

"Did Mason tell you about this place?" Caroline asks.

"Mason bolted before I triggered the curse, but I found these" he tells us. Tyler shines the beam of light at a part of the cave. Caroline walks into the Cellar and looks at where the beam of light has landed. Three deep scratches run across the wall.

"Whoa. They look old" she states. Tyler shines the light further down the wall at a pair of rusty chains.

"And these bolts and chains. I need new chains, but the bolts could still hold" Tyler tells us. He grabs the ring around the bolt and pulls it hard, showing us how resistant they are. "I think that's what this place was used for. Full moons" he states.

"Makes sense, most of my research says werewolves have no control when they turn. They most likely chained themselves up, to prevent them from hurting anybody" I state. Caroline walks forward and spots something in a nook. She grabs an item wrapped in a piece of cloth and walks back over to us.

"What's this?" she asks Tyler.

"I have no idea" he tells her. Caroline unwraps the cloth around what appears to be a journal. She takes it out of the cloth and hands it to Tyler.

"Was it Mason's?" I ask. Tyler takes the journal from Caroline and flips through the pages. He stops at a page and begins to read out loud from it.

"August 31 -- My body is changing. I'm edgy, angry, impatient. I get so mad, I black out and forget what I say or do. I'm not myself, not since Jimmy's death. What's happening to me?" he reads. Tyler flips further back into the journal and glances up at Caroline & I. "He chronicled everything" he tells us. "The full moon is tonight" he reads.

"Well, does he say what happened?" Caroline asks him. Tyler flips the page and sees a memory stick taped to the page of the journal. He slides it out of its place and holds it in his hand, looking at it and then up at us. We are all puzzled.

A timer goes off on my phone and I look at it. I curse. "Damn, I have to go relieve Jenna. Will you to be ok?" I ask them.

"Yeah, we'll be fine" Tyler assures me.

"We'll walk you to your car" Caroline adds.

"Then fill you in later" Tyler finishes. I nod and we leave the cellar. We soon get back to the cars and I drive home to releave Jenna. She apparently has to go see Carol, who wants to introduce her to a historian doing research on Mystic Falls.

I decide to bath Grayson. The bath starts to fill as I took Grayson's onesie off and blow a raspberry on his stomach. He squeals happily and I smile. "Bath. It's your favorite thing! It's your favorite thing! Because I know what you get to do. You know what you get to do? You know what's more fun than anything? Huh? Splash Mommy" I say in a baby voice. "Now to get ready for this, Mommy's going to take her shirt off too" I state. Grayson loves splashing me now when he is in the tub. So I've taken to taking off my shirt, so it doesn't get soaked.

I take my shirt off and put my hair in a bun. I then remove Grayson's nappy and pick him up. I gasp in shock and nearly drop him when I see a man in a suit in the mirror. I turn around clutching Grayson close scared. But there was no one there. I frown and look over my shoulder, the man was no long in the mirror. Was I hallucinating?

(Martins apartment)

"It worked, now to find to where Elena is" Elijah states. He feels a little guilty for see Mira like that. But at least he knows she is home, safe. Elijah places his bloody palm face down on the picture of Elena in her cheer-leading uniform. While still holding Jonas' hand. He relaxes his mind and searches for Elena. As Jonas begins chanting a spell in Latin.

Elijah's eyes soon fly open. "You saw her, didn't you?" Jonas asks. Letting going of his hand.

"I know exactly where she is" Elijah states. Remember what he saw. Elena was at Slater's apartment. She isn't safe there, he'd have to go retrieve her. "I must go, I shall see you later Jonas. Thank you" he says and left.

(Gilbert house) Mira's POV

I couldn't forget the man I had seen in the mirror. Was he real or not? Why was he there? Was he a vampire? I try not to think about it as I do my school work while Grayson naps in his bouncer. I curse as I realize I've read the same sentence ten times and shut my laptop. I can't concentrate. First Tyler triggers his curse, secondly Elena is keeping secrets again and I don't know what about. Now this mystery hot man in a suit, I shake my head groaning.

My phone rings and I answer it. "Hi Mira, how's Grayson?" Matt asks.

"Doing much better, the spots are almost all gone" I state.

"That's good to hear" he states.

"Hey, I heard you and Care are having problems. Anything I can do to help?" I ask him.

"Not unless you know her secret" he states.

"Sorry Matt, can't tell you. Best friend code" I tell him. "But I know she loves you" I tell him. He sighs. "Hey, if it's meant to be. I know you guys will work it out" I state.

"I hope so, I really like her" he tells me. I smile. "Anyway, I have a day off soon. Want to do something fun? Just you, Grayson and I?" he asks.

"Sure sound like fun Matt" I tell him. "What date?" I ask.

"The day after tomorrow" he states. Damn, that's the full moon. But surely Tyler and Caroline can handle it. I am only human after all. "Any ideas?" he asks.

"Maybe a hike to the falls, have a picnic for lunch. Introduce Grayson to water properly, before coming home before dark" I tell him. He loved the idea and agreed. We finalized the time before hanging up. Just then I hear a door open and look up to see Jeremy with Bonnie. "Jeremy!" I exclaim in shock as seeing him hurt.

I rush over. "I'm fine Mira" he assures me as we enter the kitchen. "I'm home, okay? I don't need an escort to my room" he tells Bonnie. Jeremy opens up the medicine cabinet and takes out a bandage.

"Oh no you don't, I am cleaning that wound properly before you bandage it" I snap. Grabbing a clean rag and the disinfectant. He groans in annoyance, but lets me do it.

"Oh, I don't know. Between here and upstairs there's still time for you to do something stupid" Bonnie tells him annoyed.

"What exactly happened?" I ask them.

"I already feel bad. I don't need you to berate me" Jeremy tells Bonnie.

"Stefan is stuck in there, and I don't know how to get him out. What should I be doing?" Bonnie demands as I finish cleaning the wound. Jeremy places the bandage on his neck wound.

"You should admit that you never should have tried this in the first place" he retorts.

"I didn't have a choice, Jeremy!" she exclaims.

"Yeah, well neither did I" he snaps. Jeremy walks past her and throws away the remains of the bandage. Bonnie turns around to look at him.

"Wha-Why did you have to get involved?" she asks him.

"Because I didn't want you to get hurt" he tells her.

"Look, Jeremy....you can't feel that way about me" she tells him. Ok, awkward.

"Don't act like this is one-sided. Like...like I'm some kid that has a crush on his sisters' friend. You could have died today" he tells her. Jeremy walks closer to Bonnie and caresses her cheek with his hand.

"And you almost did" she states.

"That was a chance I was willing to take" he tells her and leans in.

"I can't" she says pulling away flustered. She apologizes and leaves.

"Ok, explain right now" I tell Jeremy. "Why does it look like you were attacked by a vampire? Where is Stefan stuck?" I demand.

"I tried to steal the moon stone from Katherine alone. But failed, she nearly killed me. But Stefan saved me and now he is trapped in there with her. But we got the stone" he states. I slap him.

"Don't you ever do something that reckless again!" I snap tears in my eyes. "I will not lose anymore of my family to vampires, do I make myself clear?" I demand.

"Yes and I'm sorry" he says. I hug him tightly.

"I can't lose you Jeremy. Or anyone else from our family" I say crying into his shoulder.

"I won't do it ever again" he assures me. We hear a car pull up outside. "That's probably Elena, I'm gonna go tell her about Stefan" he tells me pulling away. I nod and kiss the check I had slapped.

"I'm sorry for slapping you" I tell him.

"I deserved" he states and left. I go wake Grayson for his fed. I wad feeding him on the kitchen when Jeremy reentered the house. "Elena went with Damon to see Stefan, she'll be back later" he tells me. I nod and he left. I wonder where Elena was all day, hopefully she wasn't on a suicide mission too.
