Elena Knows the Truth

Mira's POV

"If you mean me no harm, then you'll go!" Elena says loudly waking me. I get out of bed and head to the door. That separates our rooms.

"I never wanted this" I hear Stefan say and I knock on the door. Elena lets me in.

"You ok? I thought I heard Stefan" I state.

"We just has a fight" she states.

"You know" I say noticing something different in her eyes.

"What do you mean?" she asks.

"I know Elena and so do you, that's why I see fear in your eyes" I state. She looks close to tears and I hug her. We sit on her bed. "Tell me everything" I tell her. She does so. "I found out about a few days ago, he has Damon locked up. So he can't hurt anyone, I only didn't tell you as there had been no more attacks" I state.

"Do you think Stefan is dangerous?" she asks me.

"I don't know, but I am curious to learn more about vampires. I mean you get a tun of fiction online" I tell her.

"You're right, I'll organize to meet him tomorrow. Somewhere in public, will you come?" she asks me. I nod my head. "Please stay" she adds and I nod my head. We lay on her bed and soon fall asleep.

(Next day)

We're outside the Mystic Grill. Waiting for Stefan, I had ordered chips and two drinks. Stefan finally joins us and I let Elena do the talking. As I am hungry. "You said you would explain everything. That's why I asked you to meet me here. When you Google vampire you get a world of fiction. What's the reality?" she asks him.

"I can tell you both whatever you wanna know" Stefan tells her.

"I know you eat garlic" Elena states.

"Yes" he says.

"And, somehow sunlight is not an issue" she says.

"We have rings that protect us" Stefan tells her.

"Crucifixes?" she asks.

"Decorative" he says.

"Holy water?" she asks.

"Drinkable" he answers.

"Mirrors?" I ask.

"Myth" he states.

"You said you don't kill to survive" Elena says.

"Animal blood keeps me alive, but not as strong as Damon. He can be very powerful" Stefan tells us.

"And yet you let him get involved with Caroline?" Elena asks him.

"Forcing Damon not to do something is much more dangerous, believe me" Stefan tells her.

"He was hurting her" we tell him.

"He was feeding on her. He was able to take away her memories of being bitten using a form of mind compulsion. She never knew what was happening to her. If he wanted to kill her, he would have" he explains t o us.

"Is that supposed to make it ok?" Elena demands.

"No, none of this is ok, Elena. I know that" he assures her.

"Are there any others, aside from you and Damon?" I ask him. Wanting to change the subject.

"Not in Mystic Falls; not anymore" he answers.

"Not, anymore?" Elena asks confused.

"There was a time when this town was...very much aware of vampires, and it didn't end well for anybody. That's why it's important that you both don't tell anyone" he tells us.

"I can't promise that" Elena tells him.

"I'll keep your secret as long as no dies, as we agreed" I remind him. He nods his head before looking at Elena.

"Elena...Give me today. I will answer any questions that you have, and when it's over, you can decide for yourself what you wanna do with what you know. It'll be your choice" he states. She agrees and he has her drive to the middle of no where.

"What are we doing here?" I ask Stefan as we all got out of the car.

"I want to show you both something" he states.

"In the middle of nowhere?" Elena asks.

"This...Didn't used to be nowhere. Used to be my home" Stefan tells us.

"It looks so" Elena starts to say.

"Old" Stefan says. "It's because they are" he states.

"Wait. How long have you...?" Elena asks.

"Thought you would of figured that out Elena" I say with a teasing smile. "He's been seventeen since 1864" I state.

"She's right" Stefan states.

"Oh my god" Elena says.

"You said you wanted to know" Stefan reminds her. "I'm not gonna hold anything back. Half a century before the boarding house was even built, this was my family's home. Damon and I...We were both born here. The Salvatore brothers, best friends" he explains his and Damon's history. And their history with Katherine.

"You knew Katherine in 1864? Damon made it seem like..." Elena trails off.

"Damon was trying to make you think that...I was still heartbroken. He saw that I was happy with you, and he wanted to ruin it" Stefan tells her.

"All because you loved the same women 145 years ago?" Elena asks.

"She wasn't just any girl" Stefan tells her. And explains more about his past with Katherine. As we walk trough the ruins of the old estate. He soon pulls Damon's ring out of the ruined pillar.

"Is that Damon's ring?" Elena asks.

"I took it from him, but I have to give it back" Stefan tells us.

"No, don't, Stefan. Keep it hidden" she tells him.

"Elena, if I don't give it to him, he'll retaliate in the only way that he knows he can hurt me" Stefan tells her.

"And how is that?" Elena asks.

"By hurting you or your sister" he states. "He knows hurting her, would hurt you" he states.

"Well, I am tired and my feet are sore. Can we go home?" I ask. They both agree and Elena drives us home. As Stefan tells her about vervain and how it works. How he put some in the necklace he'd given her and asked her to never take it off.

We arrive home to see Matt and Jeremy with Vicki. "What's going on?" Elena asks Matt.

"She's really messed up" Matt states.

"Vicki, look at me. Focus. You're gonna be fine. Everything's gonna be fine. Guys, take her up to bed. Shut the blinds. She's gonna be ok" Stefan states. Jeremy and Matt take Vicki upstairs.

"What's wrong with her?" I ask Stefan.

"She's transitioning" he answers.

"Transitioning to what?" Elena asks.

"A vampire" he answers.

"What?" we demand.

"Damon must have gotten to her. She's new. She hasn't completed her transformation yet" Stefan tells us.

"How does she do that?" Elena asks him.

"She has to feed on human blood" Stefan answers. I cover my mouth and head for the kitchen. I vomit in the sink. I sigh and rinse my mouth.

"Vick. Vicki!" Matt shouts and I hear the front door slam. I return to the front room.

"What happened to Vicki?" I ask confused.

"She was fine, and then she just...she just freaked out" Jeremy states.

"I'm gonna go look for her. Call me if you hear anything" Matt tells us before leaving. Stefan whispers something to Elena and she whispers something back. Before he left.

"I'm going upstairs to shower and call it a night. Let me know what happens with Vicki" I tell Jeremy and Elena. Before heading upstairs. I had a relaxing shower, before putting on one of Jeremy's hoodies and a pair of panties. None of my pjs fit properly anymore and Jeremy's hoodies are so comfy. I love my baby brother. I went to sleep.
