Chapter 19: Chapter 17

Forbidden Love... Kenan Yıldız & Y/NWords: 4031

Under the Moonlight

It was 2 a.m., and Y/N was still wide awake. She sat on her bed, her guitar resting against the wall, her phone in her hands. She had tried everything—music, journaling, and even pacing around the room—but her mind refused to quiet down. Thoughts of Kenan circled endlessly in her head, and the ache in her chest grew heavier by the second.

She picked up her phone and opened their message thread. Her thumb hovered over the keyboard before she finally typed:

Y/N: "Are you awake?"

Her heart raced as she hit send, staring at the screen as the "delivered" notification appeared. She didn’t know if he would reply, but part of her hoped he would.

A minute later, her phone buzzed.

Kenan: "I’m awake. What’s wrong?"

She bit her lip, hesitating before typing again.

Y/N: "Can we talk? I’m at the studio."

There was no reply for a moment, and she began to regret sending the message. But then her phone buzzed again.

Kenan: "I’ll be there in 10."

The Meeting Outside the Studio

Y/N stepped out of the studio into the cool night air, her arms wrapped around herself as she waited. The streets were quiet, the faint hum of distant traffic the only sound. Her heart raced as she spotted Kenan approaching, his hoodie pulled up against the chill.

Kenan: softly "What’s going on? Are you okay?"

Y/N: nodding "Yeah, I just... I couldn’t sleep. I needed to talk to someone."

He stopped in front of her, his eyes searching hers.

Kenan: "You didn’t have to come out here alone. You could’ve called me earlier."

Y/N: "I didn’t want to bother you."

Kenan: stepping closer "Y/N, you’re never a bother."

His words made her chest tighten, and she looked down, unable to meet his gaze. She fidgeted with the hem of her hoodie, trying to find the right words.

The Conversation

Y/N: "I’ve been thinking... about what you said. About letting you in."

Kenan waited patiently, his expression soft but attentive.

Y/N: "I’m scared, Kenan. I’m scared that if I let you in, I’ll ruin everything. I don’t know how to balance... all of this."

Kenan: "Y/N, no one expects you to have it all figured out. Least of all me. I just want to be here for you, however you need me."

Her eyes filled with tears, and she quickly wiped them away.

Y/N: "I’m not perfect. My life is a mess, and I don’t know if I can give you what you deserve."

Kenan: "Y/N, I don’t want perfect. I just want you."

His words broke through her defenses, and before she could stop herself, she stepped forward and wrapped her arms around him. He held her tightly, his warmth grounding her in a way she hadn’t felt in weeks.

The Kiss

As they pulled back slightly, Y/N looked up at him, her emotions swirling in her eyes.

Y/N: softly "Thank you... for being so patient with me."

Kenan: brushing a strand of hair from her face "I’d wait forever if it meant being with you."

Her breath caught as his gaze dropped to her lips, and she didn’t move when he leaned in. The kiss was soft and tentative at first, a quiet moment that spoke more than words ever could.

Y/N felt her walls crumble as she kissed him back, her fears momentarily forgotten in the warmth of his touch.

After the Kiss

When they pulled apart, Kenan rested his forehead against hers, his hands still gently holding her arms.

Kenan: whispering "You don’t have to figure it all out tonight. One step at a time, okay?"

Y/N nodded, her voice barely audible.

Y/N: "Okay."

They stayed like that for a while, the quiet night wrapping around them like a cocoon. For the first time in a long time, Y/N felt like she could breathe.

Ending Note

As the first hints of dawn began to light the sky, Y/N and Kenan walked side by side, neither of them saying much. The silence between them was no longer heavy—it was filled with understanding and the promise of something new. Y/N didn’t have all the answers yet, but for the first time, she believed she might not need to face everything alone.
