Chapter 28: A Night of Mischief and Laughter

---

The Decision to Stay Over

After hours of jokes, food, and a movie, the group began winding down for the night. Duru and Rosé were already heading toward the door when Kenan casually leaned closer to Y/N on the couch.

"You should stay over tonight," he suggested, his voice soft but insistent.

Y/N blinked, surprised.

"Stay over? Why would I do that?"

"Because it's late," Kenan said with a casual shrug. "And I don't want you walking home by yourself."

"It's not that far," Y/N argued.

"You're staying," Kenan said simply, his confidence unshakable.

Duru turned around, catching the conversation.

"He's got a point, Y/N. You might as well stay. Plus, Rosé and I are leaving, so it's not like we'll be there when you get back."

"Exactly," Rosé added, smirking. "And Kenan clearly won't let you leave."

"I wasn't asking for permission," Kenan cut in, earning a groan from Y/N.

"You're impossible," Y/N muttered, but her tone lacked conviction.

Rosé grinned, leaning in for a quick hug.

"You'll be fine. Just text us tomorrow morning."

As the door closed behind them, Y/N turned to Kenan with a sigh.

"You really don't give me much of a choice, do you?"

"Not when it comes to your safety," Kenan replied smoothly, his smirk tugging at the corner of his lips.

The Teasing Begins

Arda and Barış, who were sprawled on the other couch, had been listening to the exchange with growing amusement.

"She's staying over?" Barış asked, his grin widening.

"Looks like it," Arda said, smirking. "This should be fun."

"What's that supposed to mean?" Y/N asked, narrowing her eyes at them.

"Oh, nothing," Barış said innocently. "Just that you'll get to see Kenan in his natural habitat. Good luck with that."

"He's not that bad," Y/N said, defending him instinctively.

Arda raised an eyebrow, leaning forward.

"You're saying that now, but wait until he starts his weird midnight habits."

"What weird habits?" Y/N asked, glancing at Kenan suspiciously.

Kenan rolled his eyes, throwing a cushion at Arda.

"Don't listen to them. They're just jealous I convinced you to stay."

Barış laughed, catching the cushion and tossing it back.

"Jealous? Of you? Never."

"You two are the worst," Y/N muttered, but her lips twitched into a small smile.

Kenan Doesn't Behave

As the group settled back into their seats, Kenan couldn't seem to sit still. He kept leaning closer to Y/N, poking her side, or nudging her leg under the coffee table.

"Will you stop?" Y/N whispered, glancing at him.

"Stop what?" Kenan replied innocently, his eyes glinting with mischief.

"Being annoying," Y/N said, though her tone wasn't as firm as she intended.

Kenan grinned, leaning even closer.

"I'm not annoying. I'm endearing."

Y/N groaned, turning to Arda and Barış for help.

"Do you guys not see what I have to deal with?"

"Oh, we see it," Arda said, smirking. "But you're the one who agreed to stay over, so..."

"This is on you now," Barış added with a laugh.

Kenan, clearly enjoying himself, leaned so close to Y/N that she had to push him back lightly.

"You promised to behave," she reminded him.

"And I'm trying," Kenan replied, grinning. "But you make it really difficult."

"You're unbelievable," Y/N muttered, shaking her head.

"And yet, you're still here," Kenan teased.

The Escape

After enduring more teasing from both Kenan and his friends, Y/N decided she needed a break.

"I'm going to... get some air," she said, standing up.

Kenan immediately stood as well, his smirk firmly in place.

"I'll come with you."

"No, you won't," Y/N said quickly, narrowing her eyes at him.

"Why not?" Kenan asked, feigning innocence.

"Because you're the reason I need air in the first place," Y/N muttered, heading toward the hallway.

Kenan followed her anyway, ignoring her protests.

"You're terrible at avoiding me," he said, his tone light.

Y/N sighed, stopping in her tracks.

"What do you want, Kenan?"

"To make sure you're okay," he replied, his smirk softening into a genuine smile.

Y/N rolled her eyes but couldn't hide the small smile tugging at her lips.

"Fine. But only because I'm too tired to argue."

Kenan grinned, taking her hand and leading her toward his room.

In Kenan's Room

Y/N hesitated as she stepped into Kenan's room, taking in the neatly made bed and minimalistic decor.

"I wasn't expecting it to be this clean," she admitted, glancing at him.

"What were you expecting?" Kenan asked, leaning casually against the doorframe.

"I don't know. Something messier," Y/N replied, sitting on the edge of the bed.

Kenan chuckled, walking over and sitting beside her.

"Well, I'm full of surprises."

Y/N crossed her arms, eyeing him suspiciously.

"Are you going to behave now?"

Kenan raised his hands in mock surrender.

"I'll behave. Promise."

But within seconds, he leaned closer, bumping her shoulder with his.

"Kenan!" Y/N said, glaring at him.

"What?" he asked innocently. "That doesn't count."

Y/N groaned, pushing him back lightly.

"You're the worst."

"And yet, you're still here," Kenan teased, his smirk widening.

Y/N sighed, though she couldn't stop herself from smiling.

Back to the Group

When they finally returned to the living room, Arda and Barış immediately started teasing.

"Took you two long enough," Barış said, smirking.

"What were you even doing?" Arda asked, raising an eyebrow.

Kenan shrugged, his smirk firmly in place.

"Just talking."

"Sure you were," Barış said, laughing.

Y/N groaned, sitting back down on the couch.

"You guys are impossible."

"We learned from the best," Arda quipped, earning a laugh from Barış.

Despite the teasing, Y/N couldn't help but feel happy. For the first time in a long time, she felt completely at ease.
