Chapter 8: Chapter 7

Forbidden Love... Kenan Yıldız & Y/NWords: 3975

a Movie Night

Arrival at Kenan’s House

The living room was lively as everyone settled in. After a long week of practices and football training, this gathering was meant to be a relaxing evening. However, Barış’s mood was notably off, the weight of the day’s loss hanging over him. Y/N and Rosé, visibly drained from their rigorous schedule, were less enthusiastic about the evening plans.

Kenan greeted them warmly as they entered, handing them glasses of water. “Rough day?” he asked, his gaze lingering on Y/N.

“You could say that,” Y/N replied, sinking into the couch.

Duru and Arda, seated comfortably on one end of the couch, were chatting quietly, their hands occasionally brushing as they laughed over something Arda said. Barış, meanwhile, sat in the armchair, his arms crossed and his expression tight.

Rosé flopped beside Y/N, groaning. “I swear, these practices are going to be the death of me. Can’t we just skip the movie and sleep instead?”

Duru smirked. “Nope. We’ve picked the movie, and you’re going to love it.”

“What’s the movie?” Y/N asked, already dreading the answer.

“A sad one,” Barış said, his smirk widening.

Y/N groaned. “Why does it have to be sad? Can’t we pick something light and funny for once?”

“Where’s the fun in that?” Duru teased, grinning.

Kenan chuckled, sitting on the arm of the couch near Y/N. “You might as well give in. They’re not going to change their minds.”

Y/N rolled her eyes. “Fine. But if I cry, it’s on all of you.”

Watching the Movie

As the movie played, the room grew quieter. The story’s emotional depth pulled everyone in, and the occasional sniffle could be heard, though no one admitted to it.

Y/N tried to focus on anything but the lump forming in her throat as the plot reached its heartbreaking climax. She bit her lip, willing herself not to cry, but when the final emotional blow hit, a tear slipped down her cheek.

Kenan noticed immediately. Without a word, he leaned closer, his voice soft. “You okay?”

She nodded quickly, wiping at her face. “I’m fine. It’s just… the movie.”

Kenan offered a small, understanding smile. “Yeah, it’s a heavy one. But hey, it’s okay to feel it.”

Y/N glanced at him, finding comfort in his calm presence. “Thanks.”

Meanwhile, Barış leaned back in his chair, his voice cutting through the silence. “Well, that was… intense. Definitely the saddest thing I’ve seen in a while.”

Rosé sniffed dramatically, tossing a cushion at him. “Says the guy who’s pretending he didn’t get emotional.”

Barış smirked. “I didn’t cry, though, unlike some people.”

Y/N shot him a glare. “I’m right here, you know.”

Kenan’s protective instincts kicked in. “Barış, ease up. It’s just a movie.”

Barış raised his hands in mock surrender. “Alright, alright. No need to get defensive, Kenan.”

Post-Movie Comfort

As the credits rolled, the room began to stir. Duru and Arda headed to the kitchen, chatting about the movie’s emotional impact. Rosé lingered, scrolling through her phone.

Y/N remained on the couch, her exhaustion catching up to her. Kenan stayed by her side, his presence steady and reassuring.

“You sure you’re okay?” he asked again, his tone gentle.

She nodded, her voice quieter now. “Yeah. It’s just been a long day. And that movie didn’t help.”

Kenan chuckled softly. “Well, if it makes you feel better, you handled it better than I thought you would.”

She gave him a small smile. “Thanks, I think.”

The two sat in comfortable silence for a while, the sounds of laughter and chatter from the kitchen filling the background.

Rosé eventually looked over from her spot. “Hey, Y/N, you good?”

Y/N gave her a reassuring nod. “Yeah, I’m fine. Just tired.”

“Same,” Rosé said with a sigh. “But let’s never let them pick the movie again.”

Kenan chuckled, his gaze lingering on Y/N. “Deal.”
