"I hate you." I grit out, glaring at his unconscious body. "I've hated you almost all my life. I tried to like you before, but you were such a jerk and somewhere in my childhood, I just stopped trying. You were nothing more than just an annoying, detestful, idiotic brother that I wish I never had. And then for the past year, I was beginning to like you again!" A single tear roll down my cheeks.

"You." I jab a finger harshly into his arm, knowing he wouldn't feel it anyway. "You know you have plenty of people who'll be worried about you, and you still pull stunts like this!" I wipe the back of my hand across my face hastily.

"What am I supposed to do? You leave me alone here. What am I supposed to do?"

The door behind me creaks open slightly, making me halt my speech and I force my breathing right to stay compose. Turning my head around, I see the last person I ever want to see poking her head in.

"What in the hell do you think you're doing here?" I push myself to stand up, the chair screeching against the floor obnoxiously.

"I- I just wanted to-"

"No!" I yell, not giving a crap about how this is a hospital and we're supposed to stay quiet. "You don't get to come here! You're the reason he's even lying here in the first place! Get the hell out!" I storm towards her and physically shove her out the room. "Get out!"

Before any of the nurses can come forward and stop me from pulling her hair out, Zac and Drew come rushing down the hallway upon hearing the commotion.

"Hey hey hey!" Zac reaches me first, wrapping his arms around me to calm me down.

"What the fuck are you doing here?" Drew then takes a threatening step towards a visibly distraught Bianca. "We told you to stay away!" He himself scream, not helping.

"Andrew." Zac says in a warning tone, reminding us not to make a scene.

"Leave." Drew holds up a hand, gesturing to the end of the hallway.

Without a word, Bianca hangs her head and walks away.

"Baby."

"What am I gonna do? I don't know what to do."

"Baby."

"I haven't even called our parents! What am I gonna say? I don't even know how to tell them!"

"Baby!"

"God, it's been three days! Do you think he's ever going to wake up? What if he doesn't wakes up? What if he-"

Zac comes over and wraps me in a tight embrace, rubbing my back as I panic. "Shhh," he coos me. "Leave it to me. I'll handle everything. Will you just go home and rest for a bit? You need to sleep."

"I-"

"Don't argue with me on this," he pulls back at arms length and scrutinizes me. "You barely slept for the past few days. Trust me when I say this isn't a good look for Wayne to see when he wakes up. Go home, shower, rest up and we'll come back after." He orders me.

"Yeah, go on, sweetheart." Drew speaks up, slouching against the uncomfortable plastic chair by my brother's bedside. "I'll be here. Don't worry."

Although reluctant, I walk towards Wayne and grab onto his cold hand. "Stop sleeping and wake up soon." I mutter softly. Turning to my side, I pull Drew in for a hug knowing we're all in this together.

It has been three days since my birthday, the very same night when I received that fateful call from Ally. I can't even begin to describe that feeling when you hear about an accident over the phone with no further details. All she could manage to tell me was the hospital the ambulance was heading to, and she hung up. My heart was racing so quick yet my mind and body was stunned for a whole minute.

I wanted so bad to think it might not be a disastrous accident, but the shaky voice of Ally's was enough tell-tale sign. She wasn't one to be scared easily. Heck, she was the bravest of us all. I've never heard her sound so afraid.

"Baby?" Zac stepped out of the shower, confused as to why I was staring blankly at my phone. "What is it?"

"Ally... Ally said... that they met an accident." I said, slowly letting those words sink in. Crap. An accident. "Do you think it's bad?"

"What?" Zac looked taken aback, but he swiftly grabbed a towel and wrapped it around my dripping wet body. "Did she say what happen? Where are they now?"

"In the ambulance. Going to the hospital. Oh my god. She was crying. It's gotta be bad, right? She wouldn't cry unless it's something big. She was full on sobbing!"

"Okay, okay. C'mon. Let's go find them, alright?" He tried to calm me down. "I'm sure they'll be fine."

I was completely zoned out the whole time. Zac had to dry me up and lead me back to his bedroom. I just stood there, wrapped in a towel, still in shock and at a loss of what happened so suddenly. I didn't start dressing up until Zac threw me one of his sweatshirt and a pair of sweatpants to wear.

He did everything, grabbing our valuables, making sure I looked decent and then getting the car. It was already close to midnight at that point.

"Call up Carson and Cassandra. And Drew too. See if they've heard anything." He instructed me since I was practically useless, just sitting in the car as he drove.

I did as he told, first ringing up Cass to see if Ally might have called her too. But she was as clueless and shocked as I was. She was just done with her late-night movie with Carson and promised to meet us at the hospital straightaway. Then I called Drew, who didn't pick up until three calls later.

"Andrew!" I let out a huge breath when he finally picked up.

"Babe, I'm in the middle of something." I could hear a female laughing and giggling in the background.

"This is not the time, Drew." I tried to keep my tone composed. "Where are you?"

"In the house. Your car is here too. I drove it back. What's up?" He immediately sounded more alert.

"There's been an accident, Drew. Go to the hospital, meet us there."

"What?" He yelled through the phone. "What the hell happened? You okay? Where's Zacson?" He assumed I was the one injured.

"It's not me... it's Wayne and Ally. I don't know too much either. She just called me not long ago and said they were in an ambulance. Just come ASAP, Drew." I informed him.

There was a series of shuffling which I pictured would be Drew getting up and ready. "Yeah, okay. I'll be right there in twenty." And then he hung up.

"It's okay." Zac turned to glance at me briefly. "I'm here. Everything's going to be alright."

It was an excruciating drive until we reached the hospital. Neither of us talked nor had the radio on. It just didn't felt like the right time to be listening to music. As soon as the car pulled into park, I all but sprinted into the Emergency entrance, scoping around the half crowded room.

"Ally!" I spotted her sitting on one of the chairs, tissues in hand. There was a nurse sitting beside her. Her head lifted up at the mention of her name, but instead of feeling relieved, she started to cry at the sight of me.

"Oh god, Kelsey." She sobbed and I quickly took the seat the nurse sat. It was as if she was trying to hold back tears but just couldn't control it anymore. I let her head rest on my shoulder as I stroked her hair gently.

The nurse then greeted Zac as he followed behind. I vaguely heard her asking if we were related to Wayne Owens and asked for a family member to fill up his details. I signaled for Zac to go ahead, seeing as I had to console Ally. Besides, Zac probably knew better of my brother's information than I do seeing as they've spent three years together while I, only a couple of months.

"Shhhh." I continued to stroke Ally while she was struggling to breathe. She was crying so bad that she almost hyperventilated. I couldn't get a word out from her but seeing as she had various cuts on her arms and legs, I decided not to probe just yet. She must've been scared shitless and I didn't want her to relive it until she was ready.

In the next few minutes, Drew, Carson and Cass arrived too, all of them frantic and jittery. Cass joined me to engulf Ally in our embrace.

"What happened?" Cass mouthed to me over Ally's head. I could only shake my head.

The guys were the ones who spoke to the doctors who came out periodically to give us an update about Wayne's condition. I didn't dare ask or listen to it. But as long as it wasn't a 'I'm sorry, we've tried our best.' kind of news was good enough.

When Ally finally stopped crying, Cass and I managed to convince her to get herself checked out too. Even though we didn't know much, it was clear as hell they must've been in the same car during the accident. We accompanied her to the triage and sat with her while we waited for a doctor.

"We were- we were in the car." Ally spoke all of a sudden.

"And then?"

"He was driving out of the mall. He br-brought me to dinner." She said shakily. "It was all good at first. H-he said he wanted to bring me to this place." She paused. "We were on the way. He was telling me about his boxing team. And then someone honked at us. Repeatedly."

We let her take a break and waited patiently for her to continue. "I l-looked out the window. It was a Lancer that I didn't recognize. The driver rolled down his window and taunted us." She sniffled. "I didn't know what happened. I looked at Wayne, and he was pissed. The Lancer kept honking and honking. They were driving neck to neck alongside us, almost as if they would bang into us at any moment."

"Did you see the driver's face?" Cass asked.

"I-It was dark. I couldn't really see clearly. It was a guy, though. There were passengers in the car." Then she continued. "I asked Wayne if we should stop. It felt dangerous to continue driving. But h-he didn't listen. He was fuming. He kept going faster, trying to outspeed the Lancer. A few times we even knocked against each other at the sides but they were unrelenting. They were shouting for Wayne. They wanted him to stop the car."

"So they knew Wayne." I speculated.

"Ye-yeah. They were yelling his name. I think he knew who they were too, but he refused to tell me anything."

"Go on."

"He was going at 120mph. It w-was crazy. They matched up with us and was shouting incoherent things. I don't even know if Wayne heard a word. The next thing I know, another car came at us from a turn. I-I think he tried to swerve to avoid, but the Lancer was so close to us on the other side." She started tearing up again. "I c-c-closed my eyes. I couldn't see it."

Cass wrapped her arm around Ally's shoulders while I patted her knees. I couldn't have imagined how scary it was to be in a situation you couldn't control.

"When I came to my senses again, we already crashed into a barrier. He took all of the impact on his side. H-he was bleeding, everywhere. I tried to keep him awake but he fell unconscious eventually. That's when I called 911. I don't think I remember what I even said or did at that point. I sat in the car with him until the paramedics brought me out." Ally cried, devastatingly, and it broke both our hearts to witness that.

For the rest of the night, we took turns staying by Ally's side, knowing she shouldn't be left alone after such a traumatic experience. Luckily, there was no internal bleeding or concussion, and she walked out with only physical cuts on her limbs.

I was outside, taking a smoke break with the guys when I relayed what Ally told me to them. Wayne was still in the operating theatre at that point. We were only told that there was bleeding in the brain, liver and spleen.

"Wait, did she see anything other than the car? No recollection of the driver and its passengers?" Carson questioned.

"No, just a Lancer was all she said. A white Lancer Evo. Who could possibly have such grudges with him?" I sighed.

"A white Lancer, huh?" Drew mused.

"Why? You have a lead?"

"Look." He gestured to the hospital driveway where a car fitted with description was just pulling up. A really tall, white haired male stepped out of the driver's seat and we immediately let out a grunt in unison. "I guess we know now."

Without warning, the three guys dropped their cigerattes on the ground and jumped on Justin. They didn't even begin with questions. It was punches and kicks right away.

"Seriously?" I huffed angrily. "Stop it! This is a hospital!" I tried to stop them but to no avail. They were already all over their heads at this point. But I couldn't just stand there and watch. My brother was already severely injured. I couldn't allow another person to be, too, especially not in the hands of these three.

Against better judgement, I weaved myself into their little circle and used my body to push each of them away from Justin, who was already writhing in pain on the side of the road. Thank god there wasn't any security guards at this hour of the night.

"What are you doing?!" Drew yelled at me. "He deserved it! Don't stop me!" He tried to get around me.

Zac seemed to notice how helpless I was, and came to help me out instead of adding more blows. He held Drew back by the waist. "Bro, bro, bro. Stop. Stop it."

The passenger side of the car then opened, and out came Bianca, who was dumbfounded and wide-eyed. I didn't know how she could just sit in there and watch her own cousin get beaten up.

"He's here, isn't he?" Instead of helping Justin, she timidly closed the distance with me. "We've been driving to all the hospitals, trying to find-"

"So it was you!" It was my turn to almost lunge at her, if it wasn't for Carson holding me back. "What the fuck is wrong with you?!"

"I-I'm sorry!" She had the audacity to burst out crying. "I didn't mean for any of this!"

"Sure you didn't! You were the one who egged him on the race!" I spat, curling my hands into fists in preparation.

"We weren't trying to race!" She desperately tried to explain. "I wanted him to stop! I saw him with... with that girl! He was the one cheating on me! Don't I deserve at least an explanation?"

Oh, god.

I couldn't justify my brother's actions with her since I had no idea from the start what his intentions were with her. He kept saying that Bianca was his revenge, to get back at Justin, but it felt like a long time had went by and he still didn't cut it off. It wasn't until Ally brought up her name again that it reminded us he was still in-touch with her somehow. Although he did say she was the one who refused to break it off. He should've still handled this way better.

Instead of getting his revenge, he got himself wrecked.

But I couldn't betray my brother that way, not in front of his perpetrators.

"I just wanted to talk to him!" Bianca continued. "He blocked me everywhere! There was no other way! If he had just stopped, this wouldn't have happened!" She cried.

I glanced behind her, noticing three other of their male friends helping Justin up from the ground. They didn't try to start anything with us. But I had a feeling if Wayne had stopped his car, those guys would've done everything to beat him up anyway.

"Then maybe you should've known when to walk away." Carson added.

"Walk away?" She chuckled humourlessly. "You make it sound so easy! How do I just walk away from someone I love?"

"Enough!" Drew screamed at the top of his lungs. "I've had enough of you, this lying piece of dirtbag! How many times have you slept with me while you were still with Wayne?!"

I stood there with my jaw dropped, apparently a lot more surprised at this revelation than anyone else. Drew was sleeping with Bianca too? Isn't that messed up? Two best friends sleeping with the same girl!

"And you dare say you love him?! If you loved him you wouldn't have been such a dirty slut!" He was swinging his arms wildly and Zac tightened his hold on him. "You wanted him for your own benefit! Just like you wanted all men! And when you can't have them, you resort to such low measures!"

"That's not it..." Bianca cowered in fear, letting Drew's words sink in.

"It is it! You just can't stand others having what you once have! News flash, hunny. Not all men are going to fall on their knees for you! Wayne told you he was done ages ago! You were the one who kept throwing yourself to him. And when he stopped giving you all the attention, that's when you think you can come to me!" Drew flipped her off. "Fuck off from here, you disgusting son of a bitch!"

"Please..." Bianca turned to me with begging eyes. "I just need to know. Is he okay?"

"Jesus. Stop humiliating yourself, B." One of their male friends finally opened their mouth. "Let's just go."

"No! We did this! I have to at least make sure he's fine!" She protested.

"He's not fine." I answered her. She had every right to know and be remembered of what her actions caused. "And as his blood-related family member, I don't want you anywhere near him. Not in this hospital. Not outside of this hospital."

"I-"

"Don't say another word." Carson chipped in, wrapping his arms around my shoulder, ready to lead me away. "You've said and done plenty, Bianca. Just walk away."

A/N: What do you think? Do you think Bianca did right in that high-speed car chase? Do you think she deserved to be treated that way when she showed up at the hospital?

As of current, do you think Wayne should live or die? This will determine the rest of the book. Let me know! :)
