Chapter 105
A One Night Stand With My Boss ( Maia Sanchez )
Chapter 105
In the restaurant, Camila and the professor sat across from each other.
Camila, weâve been talking for a few days now, and I think you have a good impression of me. I feel like weâre a good match,â said the professor.
you ord
Camila played with her glass of water, smiling slightly without a word.
How could he feel that she had a good impression of him?
He said he was busy on the first day, yet he bombarded her with calls and messages. Who would have a good impression of him?
âBy the way, how fertile are you? We should go to the clinic this weekend to check,â the professor suggested.
Camilaâs eyes widened in disbelief, shocked that such words could come from a university professor, from a man she was meeting for the first time on a blind date.
âWhat if we get married and then find out you canât have children?â
Camila was utterly speechless and scoffed, âYou mean to say youâve already been checked and are healthy?â
âHahaha, just kidding.â
âBut I think what you said makes a lot of sense. Letâs go check together this weekend! Iâll get an abdominal ultrasound, and you can get a brain CT,â Camila said with a laugh.
âIt was just a joke. Donât be mad,â the professor frowned.
Camila smiled quietly.
âI heard from my aunt that you work as a secretary at a big company and have a good salary. She also said you have high standards when choosing a partner,â the professor said sarcastically.
âMaybe.â
âI think we should get married first and then get to know each other better. How about we pick a good day and go get the certificate?â
Camila gracefully took a sip from her glass. âForgive me for being direct, but weâve only known each other for a few days, and youâre talking about marriage and certificates the first time we meet. Weâre not suitable.â.
âWhatâs wrong with you? Blind dates are meant for marriage. Now youâre telling me weâre not suitable at this time? Youâre just wasting my time. Donât think you can mess with people just because youâre pretty,â the professor said angrily.
âSorry, this meal is on me.â Camila took out a bill and placed it on the table. âThe clothes can still be returned. I have to go now.â
âWhat do you mean by that!â
Camila waved her hand and left the diner, feeling great. She went to a convenience store, bought some snacks, and sat inside to eat.
At Future Inc.
Two secretaries whispered in the break room.
âI always heard Camila had a boyfriend, so itâs true.â
âBut that guy doesnât look good. He seems like a bit of a loser and not worthy of Camila.â
Connor passed by the break room, and heard everything clearly. His brow furrowed tightly. Back in his office, he felt a bit suffocated and
tugged at his tie. His slender fingers tapped on the desk, each tap squeezing the discomfort in his heart.
At the convenience store, Camila was casually eating her snacks when her phone buzzed. The screen showed âMr. Connor.
She quickly swallowed her food and answered, âHello, Mr. Connor.â
A deep voice came through, âCamila, whereâs the report from this morningâs meeting?â
âAh?â Camila was confused. The meeting went on until nearly noon. How did he expect it to be ready so quickly?
âMr. Connor, itâs not ready yet. Iâm heading back now.â
âMhm.â Connorâs voice was low, and he hung up without another word.
Camila glanced at the barely touched shacks in her hand, regretfully threw it in the trash, and quickly walked back to the company.
Less than ten minutes later, Camila sat at her desk, panting as she organized the meeting notes.
A shadow loomed over her. Camila looked up, smiled professionally, and said, âMr. Connor, give me fifteen minutes, and Iâll send you the summary.â
