Chapter 120
A One Night Stand With My Boss ( Maia Sanchez )
Chapter 120
Camilaâs eyes widened in shock as she stared at him. âI wonât break up with my boyfriend,â she said firmly.
Howard looked at her, a flicker of displeasure crossing his face. âHow do you know if you havenât tried?â
Camila was flabbergasted. What kind of logic was that?
âMr. Howard, you really shouldnât waste your time on me.â

âHow do you know itâs a waste of time? Maybe after we try being together, youâll realize Iâm better suited for you than he is.â
Camila watched Howard, feeling even more helpless. This man seemed completely unable to listen to her, and it was incredibly frustrating.
âIâll leave the flowers here, so do with them what you will.â Howardâs eyes briefly darkened with a hardâtoâdetect gloom but quickly masked his emotions. âAs for you, I wonât give up.â
With that, Howard waved his hand and left.
Camila watched Howardâs retreating figure, feeling a surge of inexplicable irritation. As his figure disappeared at the elevator, she turned around and, without hesitation, tossed the bouquet of roses into the trash.
âAh, Camila, those flowers look so pitiful there.â A colleague remarked, looking at the roses in the trash can.
Camila chuckled lightly, âSince you feel sorry for them, you take them home.â
Her colleague paused, then laughed, âYou know, Mr. Howard is quite impressive, owning a fortune at such a young age.â
Camila caught the implication in her words and responded nonchalantly, âAre you suggesting I should consider him?â
im too
The colleague shook her head. âThatâs not what I mean. It just seems like you dismissed him too quickly.â
âIf you think heâs so great, you can have him.â Camila frowned slightly, obviously not fond of this topic.
The colleague sighed, âToo bad he doesnât notice me. If he pursued me, Iâd accept in a heartbeat.â
Camila didnât respond further and returned to her desk to sort through her documents. Within minutes, the entire office knew about Howardâs pursuit of Camila. The 99 roses were quickly claimed and divided by the female staff. Red roses were spread throughout the office.
Camila was in the bathroom and was about to open the door. She heard the clickâclack of high heels outside.
âCamila is quite pretty but comes from a modest background, and her education isnât impressive. Sheâs lucky to have gotten into this company.â
âIâve seen many girls like her, who always want more than they have and are never satisfied.â
âMaybe sheâs just playing hard to get with Mr. Howardâsuch a schemer!â

Camilaâs hand paused. She hadnât expected to hear gossip about herself, even in the restroom. She walked out, facing the two talking colleagues who immediately shut up, though their disdain and mockery were poorly concealed.
Camila watched them, her gaze icy. âIf you have any complaints or comments, feel free to discuss them with me directly. Thereâs no need to talk behind my back.â
The two women were momentarily speechless.
âNothing to say now?â Camila scoffed, giving them a glance. She turned to wash her hands at the sink.
The two women exchanged looks and quickly left the restroom.
Camila irritably turned off the tap.
When Connor arrived, the receptionist immediately stood up. âMr. Connor.â
Connor acknowledged her and took the elevator upstairs, the sight of scattered red roses visible through the glass elevator.
